As great as the experience was with tire-kicking, choosing, and buying, I have to give some positives to their installation folks. They did everything they were supposed to do, and they did it in difficult circumstances (such as taking the old tub out and putting the new tub in during a long trip around the house, going uphill part way). Friendly. Communicative. Efficient. Our spa servicing guy had recommended West Coast, and he was one hundred percent right on. It's not the cheapest, but it's also not the most expensive; he told us that these were the people he'd be buying from if he were in the market. What West Coast is: the best value for your money.

He totally eased my fears and told me that hot tubs frequently get pin hole leaks in some of the joints and fittings. He even took me over to some of their systems on display to demonstrate where and what to look for in determining the type of leak. The best part was his recommendation of a product called "Fix a Leak" and how to apply it to my system. With one bottle and little expert instruction from Don, I fixed my hot tub in no time and it barely cost me any blood, sweat and tears as I had feared it might. Thanks Don!

The employees are always helpful and friendly when we come in. As a Marquis owner we also get a discount on supplies which always beats Amazon. The employees I always notice when helping customers are not pushy and very respectful of the folks looking. Getting a spa is life changing and requires regular maintenance too. It is not something you can just toss in place and expect to work. But with weekly attention it stays clean and ready to use for a few minutes of maintenance. I purchased a Marquis hot tub a little over four years ago, only to learn that the model has…read morealready been discontinued. I was never informed that this would happen, and as a result, essential replacement filters are no longer available. Within the first two years of ownership, I was also required to replace both the pump and the control panel, incurring approximately $300 in service call fees alone, not including the cost of the parts themselves. Now that critical replacement filters can no longer be obtained, I've concluded that it is no longer financially reasonable to continue investing in this unit. Before reaching that decision, I contacted Marquis to inquire about purchasing a replacement cover. Because this is a single-person hot tub with a unique shape, it requires a custom-fit cover. I was quoted $600 for a cover that Marquis already has in its warehouse. When I asked whether the price could be reduced given that the model has been discontinued after such a short time, I was told the quote already reflected a $200 "discount." For a product discontinued just four years after purchase--especially one for which essential parts are no longer supported--this response feels unreasonable and deeply disappointing.

No analysis paralysis necessary which surprised me as I have no idea about hot tubs, did no research, and frankly, think they're ugly. I had some criteria as follows: 1. I didn't want the plastic tie-dye 1970's porn aesthetic. 2. I wanted a tub that I could use saline rather than chlorine. 3. My husband is 6'4" and it had to be big enough to have is shoulders submerged when sitting and the option to fully his legs sitting or floating. 4. Low monthly operating costs. 5. No pad necessary. 6. I was on a budget. We got a Bullfrog which is going to cost us 13/month to keep heated 7 days a week.
