There appeared to be several other fruits & vegetables that were not from their farm, but I'm still a HUGE fan and will continue to not only shop there but also recommend them every chance I get!

If I could give Aurora Nursery 11 stars out of 10, I would!…read more I stopped in late in the season hoping to find a few vegetable starts, and instead I discovered one of the greatest gardening experiences I've ever had. The end-of-season deals were unbelievable. I honestly don't think the prices even covered the cost of the soil, pots, seeds, and the time they invested growing these beautiful plants. I felt truly blessed. I'd never grown poppies before, but I brought some home, and they have been an absolute joy to watch. They grew quickly and have become one of the highlights of my garden. With my purchase, they also included free plants! Thanks to Julie and JJ's generosity, I'm now growing Bloody Dock and Love-Lies-Bleeding--two fascinating plants I had never even heard of. I've learned that Bloody Dock is edible when cooked, and Love-Lies-Bleeding is an amaranth whose seeds can even be milled into flour. What a wonderful introduction to entirely new plants! What makes Aurora Nursery truly special isn't just the incredible value--it's the people. Julie, JJ, and everyone on their staff are knowledgeable, patient, generous with their time, and genuinely excited to help their customers succeed. Musk Ox Farm in Palmer: "Give a hoot about Qiv-iut"…read more Jessica warmly greeted me when I walked through the doors and explained the building's layout. I arrived in-between tour times to give myself plenty of time to view the museum & gift shop. Dani Biersteker, Education Director & fellow knitter, took the time to answer my Qiviut knitting questions and taught me "Give a hoot about Qiv-iut". Several people arrived seeking farm tours, so Jessica gave an impromptu tour. Dani kindly let me tag along with the group; allowing me to pay after the tour so I would not miss out on any of the information. Jessica was an outstanding tour guide; informative yet funny. Jessica & Dani are incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely care about musk oxen conservation. This is a giant farm, with musk oxen roaming in very large fenced in areas. The surrounding landscape and mountain views are gorgeous. Please Note: For obvious safety reasons, this is not a petting farm. I paid for my tour ($16) and bought my once-in-a-lifetime100% Qiviut skeins. ($230 per 2 oz). I returned to the farm on my last day in AK to purchase gifts for friends & family back home. Lori there helped me create my own herds for my nieces & nephews back home.

We came out here with a few friends for something to do on a Saturday in August. I think I hadn't…read morebeen here since I was a kid. Followed car directions and found it no problem. They have a dirt parking lot that was filling up fast. As we headed over I was noticing all the things they have to offer. They had mini golf course with the balls and putts out I think it was open? And free? Not sure. There were a board of rules to follow but I didn't notice it till we were checking out. It was a little confusing on where to start but we just walked in and went straight the the crops. They also had little trikes for kids to ride and a huge inflated strawberry jumping pad that kids were all over. We started from the back of the field at the bokchoy which we got a couple of. You should bring a knife to cut the vegetables. Don't know if they provide cutters if you don't bring your own. They had tons of plants growing. Several feet wide and who knows how long with rows of bokchoy, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, potatoes, and other things. We got bokchoy, one head of broccoli, and 4 pretty big Yukon gold potato's all for $5. We had carrots and other things growing in our garden at home so got minimal vegetables. Our friends got huge bags of carrots potatoes and other things. They paid around $30. Way cheaper than the store and guaranteed Alaskan Grown lol plus it's a great way to spend the day and experience something new. Not sure if this was the end or beginning or middle of the picking season but most crops were picked heavily on the beginning of the rows and you had to walk halfway down to find a plethora of picking options. Except for the carrots they had been picked over pretty well but still lots available. Most of them had several arms and people didn't want them. The potatoes were huge and had been tilled so you just pick them up off the ground, minimal digging required. The soil everywhere was very dry like they hadn't watered ever. Maybe they cut back when everything is pretty much grown. After you are done picking you stand in line to check out. We had to wait a little bit, like 15 minutes to check out because they were a lot of people there. They apologized for the wait time but it wasn't a big deal. They weigh everything then give you a price. I think they had price per pound posted somewhere but nothing was out in the open where you could see it easily. Overall I would definitely come back. We grow a lot of our own things in our backyard but lots of people don't have that option or don't want to. Fun place!

My favorite was the tiny plants in the painted pots, tiny like the size of a quarter. Very cute! The staff was so friendly and the store was full of amazing plants. I wish I lived near this place so I could get a few plants for my house. On top of cool plants, they offer drinks. Coffee and infused drinks like Lavender London Fog. Space, staff, prices, and selection all seemed top notch! Highly recommend!

I needed panels to use as trellises in my greenhouse and they had exactly what I wanted at a decent price. The service was top notch! Young men hustling and bustling around the yard with supplies and a few ladies inside. I was greeted by everyone! I purchased a few things other than the panels I needed and when I went outside, a young man was quick to assist me and another one stepped in to assist as well. They loaded my truck and I was on my way! I won't hesitate to make a special trip out there when needed!
