What an unfriendly place. I've experienced the older Asian lady mentioned in another review on many occasions, though she's never been worse than "profoundly disinterested", so that's whatever. I don't mind. What's got me confused is why I got chewed out for texting in the store. I'd understand if the store was closing and I was preventing this, or if I was in line, or in someone's way, but none of these things were the case. Is there some rule about not texting in AM-PM? Went in to grab my receipt for gas. Waited for the cashier to come from the back and was greeted by a cold stare as if I had interrupted something. I asked for my receipt then decided I'd buy a birthday scratch off for a friend. I gestured toward the glass case and before I could ask for one the cashier (red headed kid) started to shout "no". I said, "no what?" He said they stopped selling scratch offs at 6pm. I have since called and found this not to be true. I can't imagine that the owners of this gas station are encouraging their employees not to make an obvious sale due to any kind of hatred toward another. Green is green. A person shouldn't let their personal opinions affect their profits. Whom ever is in charge needs to really watch who they are hiring; not every individual belongs in customer service. read more

So while the other reviews complain about the cashier/clerk being rude, I haven't had that experience. This Arco seems to typically be the cheapest in the area, and it's conveniently located by my dance studio. We come by, pay at the pump, and are on our merry way within 5 minutes. I can't believe the poor reviews this Arco AM PM has gotten! This is the best damn station on the whole eastside! I usually go to the Redmond Willows Rd. Arco, and I thought the price of gas there was the lowest around. Until I discovered this Kirkland Arco. This Arco has, hand's down, the lowest price in the area. And not by a little. I've been here three times in the past six weeks and I always pay inside the AM PM market. The Asian lady there is LOVELY! Prior to XMas, I got my kids some scratch tickets for their stockings, and the lady was so funny and helpful (I had never purchased lottery tickets before. I didn't even know what those free metal scratch coins were!). She and I were chatting and she was really personable and friendly. Today I filled up my car again and cashed in those winning scratch tickets! The same lady was there and, again, she was really nice. And I heard her chatting to the people in line ahead of me (the mini-mart was crowded at this time, after 6pm), and everyone seemed to like her, and most knew her, and she, them. So I don't know why the other reviewers here complained about this lady. I suspect something awry with the reviewers, if this lady told them to go or was impolite to them. If I had to critique anything, I'd say the mini-mart interior was cluttered and in a bit of disarray. They need to clean up shop a bit and widen the aisles inside. But otherwise, you have all the same foods and beverages and ... stuff that all other AM PM mini-marts have. Except with way WAY cheaper gas prices! read more

Instead of using Yelp searching for restaurants to dine in with my girl friend, I specifically logged in today to share how much shame and embarrassment this place brings to the city of Kirkland and all ARCO gas station owners who treats and conducts business correctly. After reading the reviews I've realized I am not alone with my encounter with the "Rude Asian Lady." Instead of explaining my horrible encounter, in conclusion, I have accepted her lack of customer service is not the problem, but a possible mental illness. I truly wish I could give zero stars and the middle finger. The old Asian lady is a thief, mean, and a tax evader. My boys went down there with their $20.00 bill received for allowance. They each bough a couple candies. $4.00 and some change was the cost. The old lady gave back $.70. Yes, $.70. My very honest kids pointed out that they gave her a $20.00 bill. She started yelling at them and demanded they get out of the store. I know for a fact, I gave a $20.00 bill, if I gave them a $5.00....they would have been all over me for being cheap. I went down and spoke to the old asian lady, she called my kids liars and thieves. I asked her to pull the video to prove who was the liar. See, she's one of the owners. She said it was broken, no proof. She then called me a liar, and demanded I leave her store. She called me a stupid American. I was amazed. The old lady also doesn't use the cash register when you pay cash. Only when you use your debit/credit card. She's done this for years. I firmly believe it is because there is then no record of cash received, therefore she doesn't have to report it. This would also explain why there isn't a tape of the cash transactions. Evidence. I go across the street now, at the 7-11. The owner there, Singh, can tell you all kinds of horror stories from ex-customers of the Arco. Don't give them your cash, she's stealing from you and the department of revenue. read more

Syed (usually here overnight) is the main reason my husband and I go here vs the 76 across the road. We both drive nights for a living and it's nice to have a gas station to stop at throughout the night that feels safe, is clean, and welcoming. read more

This Arco drives me a little crazy. The positive: they do have consistently good prices on gas, though usually about the same as Fred Meyer Gas, just a minute away. The downside? Well, they used to give a better price for using debit card or cash, but now debit and credit pay the same higher rate, and you have to pay cash to get the best posted price. I find the payment system irritating - you can't swipe your card right at the pump you're using. You have to walk over to a payment station, enter your pump number, then pay, then go back after you've pumped gas if you happen to want a receipt. It's always crowded due to the location and prices, and it can be both confusing and frustrating to get a spot at a pump, since there are four different entrance points. It can be hard to exit for the same reason. read more

She asked some un-comprehensible and when I said "Excuse me?" she BARKED "DOYOUWANTARECEIPT?" it seemed giving me a receipt was more inconvenience than she could handle. This place has at all, from crunchy snacks to some solid sandwhichs and burritos in the back. I usually get off work late and stop by and when I get there I am welcomed by the excellent cashier, Syed. Syed has always been welcoming and friendly. At times he has some chill beats playing , but overall he does a great job interacting with guests and getting them what they need!! read more

I was indifferent to AM PM. I've had good experiences in them and bad. But Syad keeps me coming back. He is always friendly with a very healthy work ethic. He always says hey when he sees us, and makes the whole experience worth while. All gas station clerks should take notes from Syad. read more

Elder Asian lady that works there is most likely racist and judgmental. I was asking my roommate if the card reader for paying is ever down when he is there. He said no. I was said that is strange because it's down a lot for me. So, 15 minutes ago I walked in there to make a small purchase and I am told by the elder Asian lady the carder reader is down. Mind you no other employee has ever said this to me there. I said that seems weird. So rather than leave I step out of view but I don't leave. The next three people buy things on card. One guy even bought just a single coke, small purchase. I noted this because I thought she just didn't want a charge for the single item but nope he got to buy a single item. I walk back up and say I thought you said it was down. She looked startled. Then proceeds to tell me yeah it comes up and down and it's down again so you'll have to wait. I was like I know exactly what you are doing. I went outside and waited for the next two people to walk in and back out I asked if they used card or cash. They used card. I go back in one more time and said all those people said they used their card. She proceeds to say it's down again as if that is some kind of believable story. I am super irritated right now. I'm a mixed person and I'll give you one guess to which people got to use their cards just fine. read more

Convenient location at the corner of NE 116th St, and 124th Ave NE, Kirkland (south of Totem Lake), AND with competitive prices! What's not to like? Well, most of the attendants are very friendly, HOWEVER the older Asian lady is typically impersonal, disinterested, almost robotic, but all too often she is disrespectful and extremely RUDE, and that is a game changer for me! It puzzles me as to why the owner would allow one uncaring employee to damage customer relations as this person consistently has done while there are so many more considerate people out of work and eagerly seeking employment. This location is horrible! The service is non exsistant and the asian lady is rude. The workers park in front so there is never any parking available for guests. The gas prices area joke too. Worst experience I've ever had at a gas station. I went in grabbed a drink and wanted to get gas. I swiped my card and it wasn't working. The lady at the counter said only 5 dollars would work for the gas so I paid cash for the drink and tried to run my card for the gas. It declined again. I said ok then to use the cash from my drink toward gas since I only had 4 dollars in cash and she said no that I couldn't return the drink unopened. A nice man there gave me 10 dollars for gas and the cashier said no she would only take 5 dollars and to give the nice guy 5 dollars back. I put the gas in my car and checked my card balance and I had plenty of money in my account. I went to the gas station across the street and the cashier asked me credit or debit and it was a debit card. It was approved and I got my gas. I believe the reason it was declining my card at this location was because the stupid rude asian lady tried to run it as credit. She should not be employed and should stop being such a b****. I see from these other reviews that she has been mentioned multiple times for bad reviews. She should be fired. read more

I bought gas at the ARCO am/pm at 11600 124th Ave NE in Kirkland (Totem Lake area) at 1:03 PM today (March 10, 2015) and noticed a blue sign at the bottom of the pump which essentially said that effective Feb. 22 or shortly thereafter that location would be charging the charge card rate when using a debit card (for me that was 10 cents a gallon more ($2.899 per gallon instead of the posted $2.799). I am glad that Costco and Fred Meyer are both nearby and since I have a choice, I probably won't be frequenting this ARCO any more. read more

I was at this arco the other day. The older Asian lady - that always seems to be there- was terrible. I had a soda which she didn't ring in, instead, she told me the price,1.74 and I told her that i wanted 4.90 in gas. Instead of ringing it in, she took my 5.00 bill and made change from the money sitting on top of her register. she then laid out 3.26 and took my 1.65 and counted it out and said I had 4.91 for gas. I go to pump and she put 3.17 in for gas. I went back inside, nicely asked her to fix it and she yelled and argued with me , not hearing me out. I turned to leave, she waved me back over to her, and continued to try to prove herself right by yelling at me and saying "Listen to ME" I kept telling her I gave her a 5 and a 1 and next thing I know, she took the soda (That I paid for) out of my hand and put it behind the counter! I had to reach over the counter to grab it back, and she threatened to call the police. What happened to Customer Service? read more
