This beautiful archipelago is well worth a visit in its own right, but is most famous for its birds. The islands form a bird sanctuary, and visitors can land on only one (the Ile des Moines, which has a lighthouse and ruined fort as well as wildlife to see).
On our boat trip, we saw puffins, cormorants, razorbills, oystercatchers, various gulls and the famous colony of gannets as well as a sunbathing seal. The scenery is lovely too, making this a perfect trip for anyone with an interest in wildlife, ornithology or just the beautiful Breton coast. read more
