Jody has single handedly won me over to why I/anyone would need a realtor in this day and age…read more Aside from granting access to prospective homes, As a first time home buyer I couldn't see why anyone would pay that kind of money for what seemed like such a basic service. Right from the start it felt like she was there looking at the house WITH us, like we were all buying it together. She took the time to go through the home like she was on a mission. This included poking her head into every single room/closet/cabinet, checking the plumbing, estimating (accurately I might add) when and where possible renovations or upgrades had occurred. The level of authentic partnership she brings to the table is incredible. And the moment we found a home we loved, she was off knocking on neighbors doors to find out the real goods about the neighborhood. She is professional, her communication was always prompt, and not once did we have to hunt her down for information/Taking action on something she had committed to. Buying a house in 2023 was not an easy feat as a first time buyer, but working with Jody was a real pleasure.

My google review was removed but see all the 4 photos here. This is the exchange. You will notice…read morethat I have a few "Response to Owner:" texts. This is because Ali Yearley lied there at the bottom trying to remove the rwview with google even though it is 100% valid. She said things like "Well, (My legal name - illegal!) I'm glad this is bothering you this many months later." Well, since the woman actually telephoned me whining to take down the review because she knows her snide responses were actually illegal, I have contacted the entire Holywell company as well as the different landlord/tenant areas of government and advocay groups so this information is out there. I want to post the review here but Google has an issue with the same reviews on multiple sites. So PLEASE, see photos.

Unquestionably, one of the most distasteful experiences of my life…read more All of these events are documented. Imagine being in a video conference with the head of a faculty at UBC, and having one's work interrupted by a call from the daughter of your landlord wondering if there was any mail for her at the house we had just rented through Holywell? Imagine working remotely, and having these sorts of work disruptions just being a routine occurrence until you insist that Holywell intervene, and they do so reluctantly. Imagine having the sole and exclusive use of a rental property by law, and discovering that your Landlord, his sister, the landlord's daughter, and the daughter's mother-in-law and partner are also claiming the address as their primary residence. Imagine having your Landlord's ICBC renewal notice, and voting registration, arrive in the mail, despite the fact that he is a permanent resident of a city a day's drive away. Imagine having his daughter's ICBC and CERB cheques arriving in the mail. Imagine having the Landlord's sister's ICBC renewal arriving in the mail, and mail from the daughter's inlaws. Imagine trying to explain the legal ramifications of this deceit to Holywell, and being greeted by indifference. Imagine explaining to them how this situation could impact our credit rating and standing with ICBC, and being fobbed off by Holywell. Imagine a stream of random strangers arriving unannounced at the door, there to attend to routine maintenance, yet with zero forewarning, and having to quickly contact Holywell to ascertain the authority of these individuals. Imagine inviting one's mother to stay for the weekend after her cancer surgery, and receiving a notice from Holywell at precisely 4pm on a Friday announcing a mid-tenancy inspection for Sunday. Imagine having a full property inspection occurring at the height of the pandemic with full travel restrictions in place, and amendments in the RTA prohibiting that activity, and Holywell disregarding all of it. Despite the legal authority only extending to the landlord to perform a property inspection, imagine discovering that your landlord has chosen to make it a family-style outing, and has invited his wife, daughter, and the daughter's husband along for the occasion. Despite it violating the RTA, imagine witnessing your landlord taking taking photographs of the rental, including your personal possessions. Imagine witnessing your landlord and family not following any of the health protocols despite leaving hand sanitizer. The rental was only a short-term arrangement, lasting ten months. However, there were few instances when my partner and I weren't treated like two irresponsible teenagers smoking pot and listening to Black Sabbath, despite both of us being middle-aged professionals. How did it end? Imagine arranging to vacate the property by July first, and the movers having to cancel at the last moment, as the phenomenal heat wave was baking the province, making all such labour a health hazard. Now, imagine being in this unenviable position, and asking permission to extend our move-out date by a day or two given the circumstances. Holywell's response? (Do you really need to ask?) As my partner continued frantically packing to meet our deadline to vacate, I moved all of our boxes out onto the road onto pallets to be collected by a shipping company. I had to make a last second moving arrangement to ensure that we could vacate the property on time. The temperature was 40+ degrees, and with each trip to the pallet with a box, I was just barely able to breathe in the mercilessly intense heat. I'd have to sit in the shade to catch my breath with each journey. I'm 55. We were happy to comply not only with the terms of our lease, but also with the Residential Tenancy Act, following both scrupulously. It's a wonder why we had to sign a tenancy agreement at all, as Holywell was quite happy to operate beyond the confines of the RTA as a matter of course. Oh, did I mention that we found a bag filled with used hypodermic syringes under the mattress of the bed in a house that was rented furnished? Charming and classy. Disregard all of the high reviews elsewhere, as my experience with Holywell is the norm
