The bleating sheep were on the pastures and hillsides right outside the windows. The mountain hills valley views were right outside the windows. I can't repeat this enough. A room with a View! This is why I loved this property -- the VIEWS. It was quiet. It was nice. Breakfast was delicious and the same waitress who served us the previous evening at the local pub served us in the morning. Right out of a movie. Nothing but positive things to say about this place. The innkeeper welcomed my wife and me and our two teenage boys. We had a two room family suite with two different amazing views. Highly recommended. Oh, and he recommended the local pub for dinner which was fantastic. We arrived in the early evening to a near empty parking lot, but sat for a minute to take in the beautifully manicured grounds. We walked in to a very quaint home and made our way to the bar where we were greeted by John, the owner/sweetest man you will ever meet. He quickly checked our reservation and escorted us to our room and made sure our heat was set just so. The room was clean, tidy, and decorated in a manner that reminded me of a warm hug from your grandmother. We decided on dinner and a pint after ordering our breakfast for the next day and figuring out the wifi (it was a bit spotty). The soup was delicious, the steak was unevenly cooked but edible and a similar cut to what we had experienced throughout Ireland. For breakfast, my wife had the full Irish breakfast and I had the scrambled eggs and bacon. It was delicious and for both meals, John was the host, server, and bus boy. He wears all hats. We checked out soon after breakfast and he was so sweet and seemed sad to see us off, but wished us well and sent us with a gift. We will definitely be back if we're ever in the area.

We booked through hotel apps (and were later told by the owners that doing so avoids the 15% upcharge through Bookings.com) and had no issues with that service. We did have a little trouble finding the place, even with the use of a GPS (our Garmin with Ireland map didn't have the house listed in its database), but we came in along what must have been the back way, since we did notice signs for the house along the entry route once we got our bearings. Make sure you email or call the owners prior to visiting; they'll tell you the town to plug into your GPS that will bring you straight to the house. We were greeted with a quick check-in and shown to our lovely downstairs room with a large window that faced a stunning view of Lough Eske and the rolling Irish farmland that dominates the local terrain. The house has a large sheep pen in the back, and the owners were more than willing to let my wife (a huge fan of animals) visit their sheep and admire the scenery from the back yard. The house in very nicely furnished, and the en suite bedroom was very cozy. A comfortable, warm bed with thick sheets, comforter, and pillows with a nice wardrobe and relatively roomy shower and sink. Even the water pressure was excellent. Guests are treated to a fantastic breakfast each morning, with attentive service by Sean (one of the owners), who parades out with Mary's excellent cooking. The breakfast selection is good enough to suit even the most demanding palettes. The house is very conveniently located, too, with easy access to Donegal Town (about 4.5 km down the road) and is about 40 minutes south of Letterkenny. For those looking for a more refined dinner experience than what can be found in town, you'll be situated only ten minutes from the Solis Lough Eske Castle, which is a relatively high-end luxury resort. We had dinner there one night and drinks another night; the Ardeevin House was a perfect jumping off point. All told, we had a magnificent B&B experience at Ardeevin House, and it would get our very highest recommendation to anyone we know that might travel to that part of Ireland and would be looking for an ideal B&B experience. Mary and Sean are tip-top hosts and are as sweet and as kind as can be.

The rooms, themselves, may accommodate 1-5 people with either one, two, or three beds per room. Bright, clean rooms with large windows and warm, cozy comforters. Bathrooms are clean and sinks are located outside the bathrooms. Daily room cleanings as well! Tip: open the cabinet and youll find a hairdryer so you dont need to bust out your converter if you need to dry your hair. Free wifi but certain locations in the guesthouse are more glitchy than others. Breakfast here hits the spot. Choices between a full irish breakfast (comprising of sausage, eggs, ham, pancakes, white and black pudding plus tomatoes with beans/mushrooms) or poached eggs on test or scrambled eggs on toast. Theres a spread placed out with cereals, granola, fruits, yogurt and juices. Coffee or tea? Probably my favorite question of the morning. Ive drank an average of 3 cups of coffee per morning. Strong and delicious! I dont think you can go wrong with this place. We were well taken care of and received such great hospitality. If in the area, i definitely recommend checking it out! Also, pronounced "Ashley" like the name. Been pronouncing it wrong til the end of the trip. Oops.

As much as we wanted to leave, we had no other choice but to stay since every hotel at Carrick-on-Shannon was already booked for the weekend. Despite of the circumstances, we actually have come to love the accommodations being offered. In fact, we couldn't be anymore happier for this bed and breakfast to be our first especially due to how Charlotte and her husband treated us throughout our stay. The rooms were quite clean with really comfortable beds. One big plus was the private bathroom with plenty hot water to go around. Found it a little weird, however, to have the sink situated right outside the bathroom. There's also television and free Wi-Fi to keep everyone entertained. Best part of staying here: breakfast!! This is one of those few moments when I couldn't wait till the next day just to have a full Irish brekkie. Haven't eaten much black and white puddings before but I found the ones from here far better than what I had in restaurants around Dublin. They also have a buffet of fresh fruits, yogurt and granola for those wanting to start out their day with a lighter meal. Overall, Aisleigh (pronounced as "Ashley") Guest House is one of the better establishments in Co. Leitrim that provides both housing and breakfast. I'd definitely stay here again over other hotels around the area.
