The tour is about an hour and includes the main church, Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel, the crypt, and the Pope John Paul garden. I thought visiting the crypt was very cool. Parking is free on Sundays until noon. On weekends, you can park at their garage for only $5, otherwise it's an hourly rate. Sunday Mass Schedule: 8 AM, 10:30 AM, and 5:30 PM

The pews are simple and functional. What really shines are the history, the architecture, brightness, and interior design. My wife and I joined a free group walking tour with a very knowledgeable guide. The tour was about an hour long. We visited not only main chapel, but also the the undercroft. The crypt and a smaller chapel were located in the undercroft. The guild nararated the history very well and answered all our questions. My wife and I really enjoyed the guided tour and tbe Basilica. The guided tour is only available on certain days. It is best to call for info before going.

Thanks to Doors Open Baltimore, we were able to visit the church. The church was founded in 1755 and is the oldest Lutheran Congregation in Maryland. This German church has been in continuous use since 1807. It was built by German immigrants and the building highlights the beautiful wood carvings and stained glass windows from Germany. We found it interesting that the windows in the main church are not stained glass, but pictures painted on glass. The only stained glass windows are the upper windows.

I found out about this place when I started taking German language classes at their school (they offer an 8 month semester as well as a shorter summer course). I'm not entirely sure if the teachers are members of this church (from what I've observed I'm guessing not); regardless, the classes are well structured, affordable, and challenging. A must-consider if you're looking to pick up German. Best part about this church, in my opinion, is the fact that they filmed an episode of "House of Cards" in the very room where my class takes place. Episode 7, A.A. scene. I'm a big fan of this show, so this factoid is awesome. Check it out!
