My children are straight A students and wake up everyday excited to go to school. They do not need help with their homework because they learned what they needed to that day in school. I find staff there to be pleasant, personable and knowledgeable. My children play instruments at this school and have joined various after school clubs and enjoyed every moment. I am so happy they're happy. I am much looking forward to my other three children attending Fitzpatrick in the near future. I know they will excel there while most importantly being in a safe, friendly environment. I am very thankful for the opportunity to do well for my children by sending them here.

This school has it's pros and cons. The pro is the small…read moreclass sizes. Less than 50 students per grade, so it is possible to know all of your classmates. This is also a con because it makes "cliques" more apparent. Pros: Parent-teacher relationships are strong. Attached to the church so there is no walking outside during inclement weather. Nuns still teach and run the school, this is less common in some other Catholic schools. Convenient for local children. Has after school program. CORA is available to tutor children who are having trouble, this happens during school hours. Cons: Costly, there are even charges if your child stays for lunch (which last I remember is held in the classrooms since there is no proper cafeteria.) Lack of after school activities, and those that do exist are expensive. Extracurricular classes are poor, in particular gym, which is held in the chilly basement of the church. Small class sizes mean advanced students are held back. To keep them busy they are asked to help less advanced students. Most of the student body lives in the area and graduates to Archbishop Ryan. Religion is held in high regard, and is very prevalent in the classroom. By attending this school, CCD is not mandatory as you study for and receive the sacraments through their church.

How utterly sad to see this school is still open for business. I attended this school personally,…read moreand am witness to the terrible beatings and horrible abuse of innocent, helpless children. Some were autistic, some had other disabilities. But one thing we all had in common was the horrific treatment from the "teachers" and administration that turned a blind eye. When I was a child, I did not realize that laws were being broken. Now I know better. Delta School should be shuttered and leveled. It is a place of constant nightmares for those of us that remember the beatings, and have not blocked them out of our collective memory. NOTE: The last time I posted these same TRUE comments about the school, they were deleted. If YP deletes them again, I wiil make sure they show up on Twitter, FB, here again, and anywhere else they will be read by unsuspecting parents. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN TO THIS SCHOOL IF YOU LOVE THEM!!!

I was placed in the front of the school in a room with approximately 10-12 other children with ADD. We did well in subject matters but had trouble staying focused and seated. What I do remember very well were the beatings we all suffered from the teachers. One was named Lauer, possibly Alfred. Back in the 60s, they used old-fashioned yardsticks to keep us in order. They would beat us until we cried. We had nobody to appeal to, as we were just a bunch of 7 year old munchkins. How bad could we have been? Lauer would first verbally torture the children. Then, if we reacted in an adverse manner, he would take his yardstick, which was never far from him, and beat the living crap of the child in his sights. Although we were not part of the larger school with many autistic children, we did have lunch with them in the lunchroom. I remember quite vividly those poor souls being beaten and abused by the staff. They never tried to hide or cover up the abuse. Delta School and others have been successful for the past 5-10 years at deleting my eyewitness account of what went on in this hellhole. Every time I post what happened there, they complain and my review is deleted. Next time, I will file suit and testify in Philadelphia court. This is a truthful account and they want it quashed. If you love your children, DO NOT send them to this school.

I have been sending her here for 2 years now and she will more than likely continue coming here up until 5th grade. The staff is all really nice and seem to be teaching my daughter a lot. I can see a huge progression in both reading and math and my daughter actually enjoys going to school. There are so many good things going on with this school, like they just installed security cameras and last year the roof was redone. Although this is a public school, they are making the necessary changes so that our children remain safe in their learning environment. They have a lot of activities and things for parents to involve themselves with the school and their children's lives, from fundraisers for the home and school and parent round table meetings to improve the school. The school is very diverse so your child has the chance to be around a melting pot of cultures and races. Cons: I had an issue last year with my daughter being bullied and the school sorta intervened but I feel like they need to take bullying more seriously and focus on stopping the bullying when it occurs. Another downfall to this school is the main office, whenever I go to the main office to pick my daughter up they take forever and if i have a set appointment time for her, they take so long actually getting her to come down and i have to speed like a maniac to get there in time. I usually come about 30 minutes earlier just because I know it will take a while to sign her out! I also have some issues with the office women, a few times their attitude was just unwelcoming and terrible. If they are working with parents of the children who attend there, they should be a little nicer.

I only have one concern, and it's a major one, they need to tighten up security on the grounds. I would like to see them a hire a police officer or an armed security guard. I know people will probably say why, but the safety of my(and your) children is the most important thing that I think of when I'm not there with them. My wife and I pay a decent amount of money to send our son here. I wouldn't mind paying a little more if they could meet those concerns. Please don't take this review as a bad one. This was only negative that I have with the school, but I think it's worth mentioning.
