This was for my exwife becoming a nurse. The ceremony wasn't to long, but this was because I was stuck in traffic on my way to the school. Still the experience was nice, but it was short lived.

This review of the takoma parking campus is based on my experience while I was there from 2016-2018 and not anywhere if any new update to the campus. When comparing the 3 Montgomery College campuses the takoma park campus is the most outdated and old. On one side of the campus you got old building for all the majors and on the other side you have a newer building for all the health science majors. There is a pedestrian bridge that connect the two side together and below is a metro rail. The campus has vending machine and a computer lab where you can go to do work on the computer. There is garage parking on both side of the campus and sometime there is crime of breaking into car and stealing valuable if you leave them in your car. My car got scratches when I parked in the garage. The teachers I had for my anatomy class & sociology were very good when I took them at this campus. All in all, unless you are majoring in the health science majors or looking for a specific professor for your class then I wouldn't recommend coming to this campus compare to the other 2 MC locations.

Finding Lowell has been a blessing for our daughter. We transferred in 3rd grade and saw that spark…read morereturn that had been dimmed during the pandemic and in her previous school. Lowell created an individualized learning plan that quickly helped her improve her reading and math skills. She found new confidence thanks to the caring, supportive teachers and staff. We've seen her dance in front of the whole school, perform at piano recitals, speak publicly, tryout for teams, and make many new friends. The family community is wonderful. It's the kind of school we'd been hoping to find for so long.

Lowell has done so much to support our kids academically and socially, including during the difficult pandemic years. Our boys love going to school, and they have a vocabulary to express their feelings in amazing ways. The teachers are first-rate and the small classes and first-name basis with everyone has helped our kids feel like they are part of a real community that has a set of progressive, shared values. The campus is awesome, too, from the classroom spaces to the beautiful outdoor front field and playground spaces, plus being across the street from Rock Creek park. I was a public school kid, but my wife sold me on the benefit of a K-8 school, and I'm so glad she did. We are so glad we chose Lowell, and we know our kids will see benefits from the school throughout their lives.

Michael is probably the best tap dance teacher I've ever had in my 20+ years of dancing. He takes…read moreextra time to break down steps, and his choreography is always appropriately challenging. I learn something new every time I take his class, and even on the days when I find his choreography to be especially challenging, I always leave feeling a sense of accomplishment (instead of feeling defeated, as I've often felt after taking classes at other dance studios in the area). The rhythms he introduces are perfect for breaking away from the crippling symmetry and predictability of Broadway tap and helping me to transition from a performer into a percussive musician. There are only three small nit-picky things that I would change about classes at this studio. 1. I wish there were more emphasis on improvisation. I've taken classes at other local studios where they reserve the last 15 minutes of class for an improv circle. This serves as a cool-down, as well as gives dancers a chance to practice composing rhythms on the fly and being/staying in sync with their fellow dancers while performing. It's an incredibly valuable and often under-rehearsed skill. 2. The main studio floor is in desperate need of an upgrade. It is crumbling and uneven, which is a disheartening contrast to how great the classes are. It's also a trip hazard (don't ask me how I know) and the studio should definitely make upgrading it a priority. It's not enough for me to knock off a star because the classes are just that good, but it would definitely make the class experience that much better. 3. Adult/Teen classes should be limited to students who meet the criteria of the aforementioned demographics. There's something discomfiting about taking classes with small children, no matter how "good" or proficient they are at the craft... especially when they ask a ton of questions, won't keep their feet still, or constantly hold up class so they can tie their shoes. Call me a grinch, but I take my adult time and adult spaces very seriously (especially since classes here are the most expensive in the area!) I mean, that's why they call them Adult (and teen) classes... right?
