Nothing better than an event that also benefits a charity. I brought my son, Jack along with me on this fine evening. After everyone lingered in, we were treated to a tour of the facility. I understood the concept of resale, but the behind the scenes tour brought it to a whole new level. The hugely daunting task of sorting is left to staff of arc and a never ending stream of volunteers whom sort and prep beads and throws for resale. Arc had developed a method that when put to the task, we found ourselves in a zen motion of sorting. Between specialty beads, Krewe beads and longs, we enjoyed pizza, snacks, and beverages. The best part about ARC is the countless jobs and benefits that it is able to provide to so many individuals who might otherwise not able to find gainful employment. My son and I really enjoyed ourselves and plan to come back and help again. If you find yourself riding someday in a magical mardi gras parade, please consider buying your throws from ARC. Maybe you'll look down upon me as I scream "Throw me something mister!"

I had heard a couple of horror stories about how gross bead sorting can be but this was far from the truth. Everything was neatly organized and the staff was friendly and helpful. Volunteering here creates jobs for many people so its a great way to give back. The time flew by as we sorted through countless bins of beads. You can also buy beads here so spread the word! My volunteering consists within the realms of artistry and creating beautiful rain barrels. The group I was with had set up our volunteer project beforehand. It's not that lengthy of a process to do. We showed up and were taken to where we were going to volunteer and we were on our way. Our mission was to help feed the people that came in for a meal. They had this down to a science, it moved so smoothly that it felt like a video game almost. Everything was done so efficiently that it was over so quickly that it felt like we were only there as decoration. I'm not complaining, they have been doing this longer than any of us that came to volunteer. After we were done with clean up we were give a tour of the building. We also had a sit down meeting where we were explained everything that they offer to the community. This is just one site that they oversee. Like I said, it was an honor.

After doing extensive research & checking with several junk disposal places, I got a personal quote…read morefrom the owner of Junkluggers who met me at the property. He quoted a price immediately and it outbid every other business so I hired them. This was a legal EVICTION of a WAREHOUSE with OFFICES, a KITCHEN & 1.5 BATHROOMS. It involved a Judge with court appearances & a Jefferson Parish Constable who was onsite for the entire eviction. Junkluggers showed up on time with 3 huge dump trucks (5 in total) & several very strong men to move extremely heavy and bulky items. They were able to do the job in half of the time that I anticipated. Another plus about Junkluggers was that they carefully separated what was junk/trash from the nice items that the evicted tenants left behind that could be donated or recycled. Junkluggers went above and beyond what we anticipated and did additional work that they did not charge us for. We were very impressed and couldn't be more pleased with the price quoted. We will never use another company again.
