I am so grateful this place was able to take my dog in for an appointment on the same day. She was going through some stomach issues and an eye infection. Mandy was so kind to fit me in and work with my schedule. They close for lunch, but was accommodating to make sure someone will be at the front when I was picking up. I can't say enough good things about this office. We've seen a few different docs, but our favorite (and our primary) is Dr. Wedemeyer. She clearly LOVES her career. She gets on the floor with my dog during every visit. She happily teased me about my hairless Sphynx cat and how unique she was. The last few years have been a struggle with my animals. My 9 year old dog tore her CCL, which required surgery. I opted to have Dr. W do it, and almost a year later, my dog is thriving. Office visits are pricey. So if you have older animals that require frequent visits, it can add up quickly. But I trust them with my fur babies. read more

Last weekend the thing each pet owner dreads happened to us unexpectedly, we had to euthanize our precious girl! We had previously planned to have someone out when the time came but our plans changed last minute when she decided very quickly and suddenly on a late Saturday afternoon so we started calling around to different places and Arbor Vet was able to get us in last minute right before close! I've never had to euthanize a pet before and they were so compassionate and genuinely caring through the whole process! During such a difficult time they were everything we needed and I'm so grateful for them! And then a few days later we received a card in the mail from them with a hand written message that was so sweet and unexpected! They are the best and should get a 10/5 star! I was initially frustrated with our experience because our dog needed a dental procedure, and they only do those on Tuesdays--which happens to be one of my busiest days with my kids. I was hoping I could get a text or call when she was done, or at least a general timeframe for pickup. Since drop-off is around 7:30 AM and the procedure could happen anytime during the day (morning or afternoon), it's hard to plan without an update. When I called ahead to ask, the gentleman I spoke to said they couldn't provide updates and that pickup had to be by 6 PM no matter what since they close then. I understood, but it felt a little inconsiderate--especially since I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable, just a quick message so I could plan around my kids' schedules. I left the call feeling a bit dismissed. However, my partner dropped off our dog the day of the procedure and spoke directly with the vet who would be doing the dental work. My partner said the vet was very kind and explained everything thoroughly. Then later that morning, around 10:30 AM, I actually received a call from the vet letting me know the procedure went well and that our dog could be picked up after 2 PM. That small gesture made such a big difference--it helped me organize my day and showed genuine thoughtfulness and respect for my time. In the end, while I started off frustrated, I was really happy with how things turned out. The veterinarian herself was wonderful, and that simple update completely changed my experience for the better. Overall I've had a really pleasant experience here. This clinic deserves all the stars. Since day one, this clinic has been so efficient with great customer service . Every time our dog was sick or not well, the receptionist would listen and try to give the advices. If she felt that we needed a care, she would try to find the spot for us to see the vet or recommend the urgent care for us to go to if things got worse. Both Dr. Van Steinburg and Dr. Rivas have been so kind, professional and caring to our dog. Any treatments we need, she would explore the options for alternatives. She never forced us to choose for the most expensive treatment. I felt very comfortable with the doctors here even more. read more

We are extremely disappointment with the service that our dog received on January 29, 2025. We have been traumatized after this visit. We fear taking him to Arbor View or any other veterinary clinic because of this mistreatment. Our dog was injected a wrong medication, furosemide instead of famotidine by one of the technicians' mistake. How could this happen? Dr. Steinberg said because those two names looked similar. It is so hard to believe that someone would make such a mistake in a vet office. It could have caused more serious problems. I work with children and administrate medications to them daily. If I ever make a mistake like this, I would most likely be terminated. I hope this technician was terminated or disciplined severely. In addition to this mistake, our dog almost ate a piece of food on the floor in the office that day while we were waiting for the doctor. I took it away from him and told the technician about it. Then, she said, "oh, it's ok. It's our hypo-allergic treat." Do they not clean up the floor after each visit? What if the treat was from someone's home and my dog was allergic to it? We feel that the technician was not paying attention to the details, and it makes us feel very unsafe to take him back to Arbor View. We were still charged about $1,000 for such a horrible experience. When we asked Dr. Steinberg about any financial benefit because of the mistake, she checked with the manager and told us, "We don't usually give any discount, but we will give you 10% off this time." We didn't feel any sincerity from this statement. While we appreciated Dr. Steinburg's honesty and apology, we are still very unhappy with the service our dog received. This was not Dr. Steinberg's mistake. We need an apology from this technician. read more

Wish I could leave a good review but scheduling follow ups left a lot to be desired. Our puppy came here for his vaccines. The doctor was nice. When we paid, we thought it was strange they didn't schedule our next appointment for the follow up round of shots, but figured they would call or text when he was due. A couple months go by and we received a text saying he's overdue for a visit. Mind you - we never received a text when he was actually due, only when he was overdue. When we called to schedule the appointment, we were told we had to restart his vaccines. When we asked why the follow up wasn't scheduled, they said the doctor we saw only works a couple times a month and might not know all the procedures. I guess that's something we should have been aware of? When we asked if they would waive the fee to restart the vaccine in light of the lack of follow up, the front office staff member said she'd check with her manager and get back to us. It's been seven days with no follow up. All in all, I wish we could go to this vet, they're very close to our home, but I don't want to have to chase them down to schedule follow up appointments. read more

I regretfully have to write this review. We have been bringing our fur baby to Arbor View ever since we moved to Roseville and everything was fine until my pet's final day. Knowing that the end was near we didn't want our pet to suffer any more but Arbor View was too busy to help. We tried many times during business hours and though they had vets there, they would not allow us to come in. Scrambling to find another facility, my pet passed that evening. They were uncaring when we needed them most but ironically, they were eager to book a follow up visit for the next week even though our pet had already passed. Dr Schmitt was amazing but since he retired the place has gone downhill. The office staff is horrible, I just had a 11am appointment for shots and annual visit for our Ausky Lobo who has bad anxiety. They basically made us wait in the car for almost an hour after checking in. Then forgot about us and then wanted us to come back in the afternoon like we all don't have jobs that we take time off for because they are closing for Lunch???? Are you kidding me, how about an apology and a comped appointment Last week we brought in our new Queensland Puppies for their second set of shots so we definitely support this vet clinic and have for decades. After today and the way we were blown off we won't be going back ever again. This is not the Arbor View of years back with the attention to your fur baby as their number 1 priority, it's turn and burn and make as much money as possible. Very attentive to my dog's needs. Understanding that my dog has high anxiety when there, so they take added measures to insure his comfort.

Arbor View nickel and dimes pet owners to death just to make a buck instead of listening to what is really going on from the pet owner. They run unnecessary tests just to charge exorbitant amounts of money. More times than not the test isn't even needed if they would just listen to what the pet owner tells them is going on. Especially when you take your pet in for the same thing time after time. I've had it with this money pit and will be looking for a new veterinarian to take my dogs to. They honestly don't even deserve one star. It should be zero stars! If you have an option, take your pet elsewhere. Your bank account will thank you. read more

I absolutely would recommend all to take your family additions to a vet that cares and is responsive. Arbor View is NOT it! After my initial yelp (many calls before yelping) the complaint/request has been ignored! Because I have the absolute right to know the size of needle they stabbed and injured my puppy with I went to the better business bureau, BBB, to find the answer. To my surprise, arbor view decided they don't have to respond at all. isn't that fun for them? Today, I will send a demand letter to arbor view to find out what needle size they hurt my young puppy with. when they decide to ignore that as well, I WILL be going all the way to small claims court to find out what they hurt my animal with! How dare they refuse to cop to what they did and answer the damn question! I will make another post if (when) they ignore the demand letter I am sending and if we go to court, I will let everyone know what an absolute nightmare this place is to deal with. read more

In this past year alone, we have had to bring all 6 of my cats in for various things: vaccinations, tooth extractions, teeth cleanings, a toe amputation & ongoing treatment for a growth in the back of my cat's tongue. Dr. Wedemeyer & Dr. Warren are AMAZING!! Both are very kind and caring. None of our cats are scared of them (which is unusual). My cat Cricket had a broken fang and needed to have it removed. While she was there, Dr. Warren spotted an unusual growth on her toe and let me know that she was very concerned. The next morning, her toe was removed. She has had no issues and it healed perfectly. My cat Spider sees Dr. Wedemeyer every few months with an ongoing issue. She is always so sweet and helpful. We just appreciate both of these Vets so much. We do hope that their offices open soon for us to go into the exam rooms. The drop off service is definitely not my favorite way to go to the vet. We are hopefully with things reopening, that they go back to normal operations soon. read more

We have been taking our two healthy dogs here for the last few years since it was close, and they had good reviews. The staff has always been very resistant to calls, and rude on various occasions. There was concern with one our pets having decreased energy levels at a young age of 4, and I had requested further evaluation to rule out cardiac etiology with a simple BNP to add onto their annual labs. The tech was very aggressive with my husband on the phone and stated that we had to have a vet visit to add on a lab? Today, we took both of our dogs in for updated vaccines as well as our one dog for additional lab work (rule out cardiac issue with BNP). We come to find out that they administered an additional leptospirosis vaccine ON ACCIDENT on our dog we were concerned about with decreased energy level and messed up on the vaccines. I am sorry but medication and vaccine errors are a reportable offense and can be liable for that individual to lose their certificate and license. After this instance (along with many others), I definitely would not recommend this place. read more

I recently moved to Roseville. This was my first visit for an annual exam for my 12 year old cat. I think I was the first appointment of the day (8:30AM). I opened the door to enter when the receptionist/desk person barely turned her head to me and said "Name". I was taken aback...if not insulted. I walked to her counter, set my cat down and said "Good Morning, how are you". No answer other than "you're checked in". The vet tech who helped was OK...not super warm at all and the vet was "good enough". I've had pets my entire life and as most of us who do, love them dearly. I guess I expected more. The cost of the visit, blood work, vaccine and nail trim was $600 - Maybe for $601 you get a smile and a THANK YOU!!! Still lookiing for a Roseville vet! read more

We have taken Lucie here for the last two years and love how Dr Dial is so patient with our shy lil Lucie. Today I noticed Lucie was rubbing her eye and she wouldn't let me look at it. Then when she was looking at me she was squinting and I could see her eye was red. I called Arbor View thinking it would be okay to monitor her eye but was informed eye conditions can go bad in a hurry. It was already 3pm and even though they did not have any open appointment room Dr Dial allowed us to come in. Lucie ended up having a scratched eye and we got antibiotics and pain medication. This has been my older dog's longtime vet for years. She's almost 10 years old and we took her in because she suddenly started limping. The vet couldn't find any reason behind her limping and said it was probably an injury. She prescribed some pain medication and said it would be ok. Nope, my poor dog is still limping and we're guessing she has arthritis. We paid $150 to be given pain meds and to wait and see. I took my younger dog in for some vaccines and the vet assistant that checks in and takes dogs in was incredibly rude. The rudest person I've met at a vet clinic and I've had pets for 15+ years. She snapped at me and acted like I was stupid when I asked a simple question. My dog is rescue from Korea who had the corona virus vaccine on his records. OBVIOUSLY I know that it's a different strain and it's not the same as COVID-19. I asked the girl if they had it and she almost rolled her eyes and gave a snappy response of "no? That doesn't exist." The reason I asked was because it was on his records and the vaccination had expired. I showed her my records to prove my point. I left the appointment appalled at the rudeness and treatment. We will be finding another vet for our dogs. Sad because even though A.V. was expensive, we had good service before. I'm not saying to treat customers like royalty, but a little kindness goes a long way, especially during a time like this. Inversely, being rude to your customers gets you nowhere. read more

I'm just so sad how this once wonderful Veterinary Clinic has completely lost its heart. When Dr. Schmidt ran this place, it ran like a smooth machine that was warm and caring. Now it seems all they care about is the money. After spending $1018, and finding out that they took 6 teeth with no forewarning, as soon as I paid I was told that I can't wait for my pup in the lobby. I stood outside for 10 minutes before I popped my head back inside and asked what was causing the delay. Then a vet tech came out and told me all instructions were on the sheet of paper. I'm just heartbroken that this place, that I've been bringing my 4 kids to since they opened, no longer cares for its patients nor their parents. Changed my mind about Arbor View. My problem is mostly with the people answering the phone. I've since called for 2 different appointments for my sweet retriever. One was when her leg spontaneously broke - all the receptionist could say is "we can't see her." They Offered no advice on what to do or where to take her. She could of at least said let me talk to the Dr to see what can be done. The most recent negative experience was when I needed end of life services. All I was offered was an appointment a week out with no offer on what to do if I needed the service sooner. Well my sweet dog couldn't wait that long and passed away. read more

We have been taking our dog to Arbor View Veterinary Clinic for several years. On the morning of Sunday, September 11, 2022 we noticed our dog was having difficulty urinating. As the day progressed things appeared to get worse. We decided to call our vet first thing Monday morning and schedule an appointment. When we spoke to the receptionist we were told there are no appointments until Saturday, September 17th. The receptionist also said we should have our dog examined within the next day. We asked if there were any other recommended vets in the area we can take our dog to and the receptionist said no. We were shocked to be turned away. After numbers calls with other vets we finally got an appointment to have our dog examined. Actually, Blue Oaks Veterinary Clinic referred us to Rocklin Ranch Veterinary Hospital. We received excellent customer service at Rocklin Ranch and would recommend their urgent care to anyone that is experiencing an emergency. We won't be taking our dog back to Arbor View Veterinary Clinic. It seems Arbor View Vet cares more about generating a profit than taking care of ill animals. read more

I don't recommend this place if you have a pet with an urgent issue. They never have any openings for same day. I also wouldn't recommend for a chronic condition. I felt the last time I was there, Dr. Skolnik came off tired and didn't perform a full exam for my dog who was suffering from a chronic cough. I remember asking a question and her saying " like I already said". That has stuck with me. I ended up going to a different place and the care and concern that was given to my dog was so refreshing. Arborview is always a toss up honestly. Since moving to Roseville, I have had my animals all go here with the recommendation from their previous vet in the Sacramento area. I have had some amazing doctors here and then there are some who clearly are not doing their job (hence the four stars) . I will speak for myself and my doggies when I say that Dr. Warren is the absolute best. She is honest, througough and kind. You can tell that she loves what she does and she is good at her work. She will be honest with what the outcomes are and honest with the pricing. She was kind enough to recheck and offer more sound advice after another doctor did not do his job. If you ever have to go to arbor view, try and get Dr. Warren. Regarding the front desk staff ( since I saw a lot of notes about them), I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with them. Do not dismay that when they answer the phones that they can be curt or short with customers, nevertheless, this isn't something new in customer service, they are in a high stress environment and dealing with animal parents who may have a pet with a serious and even sometimes life threatening situation. We were loyal clients for many years. One day I called to make an appointment and was treated to the most unbelievably rude receptionist who ridiculed me for absolutely no reason. I later posted a review on Yelp. I handled my dog's appointments there my wife our car LC (Little Cat) appointments. Totally separate accounts. My wife went in for an appointment for LC and was told she was "terminated" from going there due to the review I had wrote. So now my wife had to go schedule a doctor's appointment for our cat and pay extra money to get a prescription. Not only that but they said LCs records had been referred to another vet. They had not. These folks are highly unprofessional in my opinion and I strongly advise anyone considering using this vet to pause and consider my story. read more

UPDATE (today): Arbor View can thank Amanda (technician) for my returning the score back to Good (and for us not going elsewhere - for now). The disappointments continued when on Tuesday I couldn't get an appointment for Thurs to bring the kittens in for follow-up tech appointment just to collect more bloodwork after they were to be released from the ER. The vet at the Atlantic Street Pet ER, at my request, ended up calling Arbor View herself to get them to squeeze the kittens in for a tech appt. We were there promptly on time (as asked) and still waited over 30 mins before someone came to collect them. The kittens were clearly stressed and we just wanted all of these visits to be over. Then there was a mix up with the bloodwork and we were called a couple hours later to bring the kittens back - again - for more bloodwork! Had it not been for Amanda going (way) out of her way to make things right, it would have been the last visit to Arbor View. I want to clarify again that other than disappointing reaction recently from reception in response to an emergency situation, we've always found the veterinarians and the technicians to be professional and showing sincere compassion for their patients. But if you can't get past reception, who isn't even willing to TRY to see if they can squeeze you in for an emergency, then there is the potential to reflect poorly on the rest of the staff who do have sincere concern about your pet(s) and are doing their best. read more

I had a great visit with my dog Nikita yesterday. Luckily I was able to be seen the day after I called for an unexpected issue. I know that is not always the case, so that was appreciated. The check in process was quick and easy. Being inside the building during the exam, everything was explained to me by the technicians and the doctor. They took extra steps to minimize my dog's pain and anxiety during treatment. The issue was explained to me clearly, the necessary treatment plan was worked out with me, taking into account my limited budget and work schedule. The bill was even less than I was expecting at checkout, including medications. Overall my visit was very pleasant, and a positive experience for me and my pet. I will definitely keep coming back to them for more care. read more

Do NOT take your pet here!!!! They took a good amount of money from me and told me my dog was "healthy" and totally fine. Could not find anything wrong with her and three weeks later she is gone, I took her back for a second visit since she was declining so fast and was told a second time that she was healthy and fine and since she had a limp it was probably just from a soft tissue issues. Which that may have been true but they did pretty extensive testing on other issues she had and said she was "healthy". She was not. I lost her shortly after. I do not recommend this place. They don't seem to be very interested in actually helping your pet. read more

I've experienced a few great vets here and a few duds. The office staf is terrible and no office manager to reign in the staff. I've experienced over booking with long waits for the appointment. Then told to reschedule a new appointment weeks away again. The office staff have attitudes and show no customer service what so ever. On several occasions I've experienced no follow through on anything the office staff says. If you need a good vet and customer service, I highly recommend Loomis Basin as your best bet.
