I started noticing one of my teeth needed treatment pretty badly and I went back to the one place I had a great experience SIX years ago! I was treated by a different female Indian dentist (I'm sorry I didn't get her name!) but WOW! She could recognize I was very nervous and did everything to help me feel safe. The light taps on my chin and co distant verbal reassurance and the quality of work she left me with. I had to have two root canals and after I came back for my permanent crowns, I was shocked with how naturally they fit in my mouth and she PERFECTLY color matched them to my teeth. I've NEVER left a dental office so pleased. I showed my mother in law and my husband and they would definitely like to switch over to this office if they're taking new patients.

Dr. Diaz does amazing work on my fillings and truly gave me a nicer smile over the years. The dental hygienist, Pedro, is also fantastic with my cleanings and always makes me feel comfortable in that chair - it's no wonder why I always see children and families here together; it's a great environment. Making the appointment over the phone was a breeze. They accept several insurance plans including MediCal. Check in went fast and after that there was some wait but thanks to their large flat screen TV we didn't notice it. Surprisingly they were were playing a newer movie (Big Hero 6) unlike other children's dental offices that play movies from when I was a child. The rooms are very clean, child friendly and they all have working flat screen TVs. They also ask your little ones to pick a movie of their choice to enjoy while getting their teeth cleaned. Since the moment that my children came in they were talked to like little adults which was a huge plus because they are the patients at the end of the day. The staff at this location really took the time to get to know my children and to teach them the importance of good hygiene. Dr. Andrew was very detailed and walked us through everything that he was doing. Unfortunately the female Dr. (I feel bad that I didn't catch her name) isn't as talkative but she still does a great job. I have so much more good stuff to say but I'm just going to end it by mentioning that they won my kids over with the prize that they got at the end. This makes it easy and fast during check in. Lots of parking in the area. There's not much privacy as the seats are only divided by partitions so we can hear people next to us but I didn't mind that. Just letting you all know if privacy is a concern. The only thing that makes me uneasy about coming back again is that the hygienist used a LOT of water. There's a few times where I felt like I was going to drown as my mouth was filled with water while lying down in the chair. I told her that she used a lot of water, she kind of laughed it off and did use the suction a bit more often than before but I don't think she realized how uncomfortable it was for me. I've cleaned my teeth every 6 months or so but I've never had such an uncomfortable experience. Other than that, it's great. So, it might be something you want to let the hygienist know before you start your cleaning.

On the day of the procedure, Dr Rojo immediately put me at ease, was very gentle, explained each step before he does it, and he told me he'd take time to do it slowly so as to avoid heat on the tooth. He took the time to do it properly and there was no need to do a root canal! Price might be a little higher but then if you have to choose quality, I'd highly recommend him. The staff is also very nice and the clean surroundings are definitely a plus.

I will was told I needed to pay out of pocket $85 because they need to take pictures of my teeth and extended x-ray (18 of them) . I told them my insurance should cover for x-rays and why are pictures needed if we're going to do x-ray? . I never had any dentist that takes pictures of your teeth when they're also doing X-rays on your teeth. That should have been a red flag for their greediness. I was told Dr. Swathi would NOT perform the exam unless I payed for the extra cost. So I did! Dr Swathi Upadhyaya never took the time to explain any procedure_ she performed a bone density test without my consent or any explanation. In the middle of her painfully digging and extremely rough and careless when picking around my teeth I finally stopped her and asked what are you doing? she said I'm almost done. Can't imagine what a real cleaning would be like. She never showed me the x-rays or pictures they took. Instead I was rushed out and referred to a specialist for bone loss that I may need or may not. Her demeanor was cold and unwelcoming , and unfortunately, her staff had the same unprofessional attitude. I left feeling confused, disrespected, and taken advantage of. On the day of my apt, the front desk called to cancel my apt 2 hours before my actual appointment. She said the dentist does not want to do a regular cleaning for me but if I want to do a deep cleaning then the dentist will do it. I'm like what? The dentist was the one who told me to make an appointment for regular cleaning back then and I get all this reminders about my appointment coming up and two hours before the appointment, they said the dentist wants to cancel it. I know they charge way more (thousand of dollars) for deep cleaning than a regular cleaning but still -that is so unprofessional and greedy for what they did.

With that said, this place has a lot of great upsides: - Appointments are easy to get, they are not usually booked out too far out. I commonly was able to get same day or same-week appointments. - Appointments are respected. They do not double book or have any big delays. I only ended up being at their office less than an hour for all the new patient x-rays + initial cleaning. This is something only half of the 6 dentists I've been to have been able to do. - Workers are efficient and fast and clearly know what they are doing (x-rays don't take forever and don't need a million of them) - Dentist was a pro, didn't feel any pain/discomfort the entire time which is top 2 for me. Unfortunately my new insurance does not work with them, but would highly recommend them if you are in network. Only qualm I have is that it seems that they seem to have swapped dentists a few times in the past year.

She will also give you an attitude and make it difficult to schedule an appt. I called to ask if they accept Medi-cal which she said they do so I asked to schedule an appointment and Nhi asked me to email her a photo of my insurance. I explain that I just switch from Anthem Blue Cross to Santa Clara Family and am waiting for the Santa Clara Family Health card, which won't be sent home til 2 weeks. Nhi refused to schedule and appt (even though the earliest is more than a month away) and told me to email the insurance card when I receive it. Fast forward 2 weeks I emailed her the Santa Clara Family Health Insurance Card I received and she told me it's not the right card because the issue date is wrong. After an exchange of emails over a few days I called their office again and now she tells me they want a "BIC" card. Moreover, she mention that she sent an example picture of the BIC card which she never did so she said she will resend it. In the meantime I called Santa Clara Family Health to ask a "BIC" card and was told the white or flower Medi-cal card. Nhi, you're telling me all this time I could've scheduled my appointment 2 weeks ago because my Medi-cal was always the same? I emailed Nhi back my Medi-cal card and about 15 mins later called the office back to schedule an appt. Nhi refused to pick up and left the phone ringing. This office definitely need to hire a new receptionist because I just scheduled my dentist appt with another office receptionist who was able to look up my Medi-cal through the phone with my member # and my birthdate. Didn't ask me to email her any picture or made it difficult for me. Nhi will cause your office to lose customers if not replaced or retrained.
