Love this store! Real Irish wool products labeled and certified. I actually bought a few items, went across to their sister store across the way called Weavers of Ireland to purchase a beautiful coat received a coupon, and made my way back to Aran for more items : D lol This particular store was 2 floors and had everything from wool scarves, hats, women's clothing, men's clothing, kids clothing, and blankets! You'll find various forms of wool, blends, cashmere... make sure to ask an employee for more information. I ended up purchasing real Irish wool scarves (slightly itchy), softest wool scarf, and a wool sheep toy. The items smelled like a farm lol, but the best way to discard the smell was to air them out. After purchase , you're given specific instructions on how to care for your Irish wool products. Note: Get a tax refund at the airport, with any purchase of 75 Euros or more at a merchant store. We visited this location in March then placed an order in August. The shop was adorable quaint, multilevel spot in Galway. Our tour guides recommended it, stating they offered high quality traditional wool goods. We left with a cozy headband then placed an order this summer for a couple of sweaters, hat, headband, pet sweater, and wool socks. The shipment arrived in less than a week and we love all of it! It was an investment, but we are impressed with the quality and know we will get good use out of everything. read more

I had one mission from Mrs. K. when arriving in Galway - an official Aran Sweater. And since I didn't have time to take the ferry to the Aran Islands, it was going to be at this shop. This shouldn't be hard. Except... they have a massive selection. It's not just the six or so colors. The sweaters have zips or buttons or they're poncho-style. They have patterns or no patterns. They have collars or no collars. I'm absolutely overwhelmed! Instead of making a bad choice, I took a bunch of pictures and texted them to Mrs. K.: "Here's what they have - which one do you want?" And now I have an answer. Coming into the store, I was able to show one of the sales clerks which one (because I'm still confused) and she pointed me right to the spot. Hooray, mission achieved! I didn't get a chance to see everything in the store because I was on a mini-scavenger hunt for the day - but it didn't have a big shall that i spotted at a different store nearby. BUYER BEWARE: they advertise "free shipping". Yes the "shipping" is free, but we were charged $185 in customs fees when our package arrived in the US. This is insanely excessive fees on $230 in goods. Their salespeople should have alerted us to the additional expense. They have you sign a form that covers the store legally in this matter in small print and minimal details. I contacted their customer service line and was thoroughly disappointed in the interaction via phone and email. The sweaters are nice, but this was a horrible experience and detracted from an otherwise nice vacation. read more
