The roads weren't bad at all, the parking lot was completely plowed and the Rockler store was closed unlike Best Buy across the parking lot which was open and there were plenty of cars there. I'm pissed, you got to be kidding me. Obviously the manager of the store has no clue what's going on, I can only imagine what it's like when it's open. While I'm sitting here writing this review, 4 customers have walked up to the door only to find out that it's locked. Completely unacceptable, I won't be back and could not recommend this place to anyone. If I were you I would shop at Amazon, like I usually do. But I wanted to check out the store as I haven't been to this store before. Never again.

After he passed, I would walk to Shoe City whenever I needed something, or walk in and browse as I passed those opened doors. I soon found for myself that their Customer Service is "spotty" & the stock they carry has diminished over the years. The older gentleman, who I believe is the owner, came up to me, rudely & very dismissively insisting that in 30+ years in the business he had "NEVER heard of the brand!" BOTTOM LINE: Perhaps Shoe City Hardware was once a great local hardware store with staff that helped customers find hard-to-find pieces nowhere else available. But now their GENERAL MERCHANDISE items are pricey & limited to 1 or 2 brands. And sadly, those unique/ classic "gems" that once kept loyal customers coming back have become leftovers from "old inventory" & no longer replenished. However, the pricing is extremely high compared to some other big box stores or ACE hardware locations outside of the city. I highly recommend using their order online for in store pickup for the best pricing since the store will follow the online pricing vs the shelf sticker price. Online orders come with a paper bag that has a handle which makes it nice and easy to carry out. There are two floors to the store, with the majority of home improvement things being on the lower level.

It took two weeks, and the screen fell off the moment I reinstalled it. I also had a key copied. It didn't work. I ended up taking both the door and key to Inman Hardware. They fixed the screen and made a key that actually worked. Buy stuff at Tags if you want, but don't count on them for even basic jobs.
