The scenery was absolutely breathtaking and our hikes were amazing. (Helm Crag, Silver How & Easdale Tarn) The staff at the Daffodil were friendly and helpful. Our stay included breakfast which included a great selection of hot and cold items. Our room was a corner unit with a fabulous view and it was clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, I didn't have any spa treatments but I did take advantage of the pool, sauna and steam room. Fabulous! The only strange thing is, if your coming from your room in your bathing suit and robe, you do have to walk into the lobby to access the spa area. Just a little odd I thought. I honestly cannot day enough nice things about this place and I can't wait to visit again. If I could teleport back to any point in time in our entire vacation it would be to Grasmere. A stunning place to visit and a stunning hotel to stay at.

Now, at the foot of Grasmere Lake, less than a football field away from William Wordsworth's Dove Cottage and Lake Grasmere, is the exquisite hotel and spa named for the poet's favorite flower. I'm a two-time English degree holder, so I'm a sucker for little touches of literature. I loved their interior pictures and artwork ... Ronald Dahl book covers, Beatrix Potter stuff, and, of course, Wordsworth. The rooms are amazing, the food is amazing, you won't want to leave after a spa treatment. It is EXPENSIVE. The thing that sets Daffodil apart is the "at home" feel you get ... you don't just feel like a pampered guest, you feel like part of the family. It reminds me of the first luxury hotel I stayed at in the UK ... the Randolph in Oxford ... it's a place you wouldn't mind spending Christmas at because you feel at home. Anything that gets people to Grasmere, and to the history of Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, is tops in my book. Trust me, come to the Lake District ... and if you want to see it at its most luxurious, stay at the Daffodil. Rain, spritz, or shine, you will definitely feel the presence of Wordsworth, walking the hotel grounds on the lake. "I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze."

We don't like the vibe of the outdoor activity centre quite as much as in the other parks, which marks it down a little. Overall, though, we had a great weekend at a decent driving distance from Scotland.

Center Parcs brought what was Oasis several years ago and since then there has been lots of changes, some for the better and some for the worst. The most noticable being the price! It can be ridiculously expensive - especially during school holiday where you can spend over £1000 for 5 days in a standard lodge. The good thing about this Parc is the accomodation. No matter which level you go for (range between comfort and exclusive), you won't be disappointed. They are all wooden cladded lodges set within the forest and all a nice walk to either the Country Club or the village centre. We usually stay in an executive lodge which have a sauna. Not a necessity and we don't really use it too often but for 1st time visitors it is a nice extra. You also get a daily maid service in the executive which is very nice! The pool area is great fun for all the family. We like to sit at the top level where if you are lucky you will be able to get a sun lounger and chill out with a good book while the kids go off and play on the flumes and slides. The outdoor pool is small but great. We have never been in the summer so we don't know how overcrowded it gets but be prepared for a sprint to the outside pool in your 'cossie' as it is rather chilly! We have used most of the restaraunts either for take away or sit in meals and have enjoyed most of them. The on site pub - Tom Cobleighs has a small play area so is worth a visit if you have smaller children. As with most holiday parcs, the food can be expensive so we try and eat in as much as we can and then go out a couple of times. It is worth taking food into the pool area too as the drinks and snacks are pricey here. They have a well stocked supermarket on site too which again is a little more expensive than normal but you will find most things you need here. There is a cash point, creche, small cinema, and a doctors which we have needed to take our child to in the past and the doctor here was fantastic! Some activities are again pricey. The kids have enjoyed roller skating, badminton and football but we don't feel we need to spend our holiday doing lots of different activities. Just walking through the lovely forest from the lodge to the sports plaza to grab a latte and watch the kids playing pool is enough for us. We love it here and can't wait to go back!

Arriving in the room, the setting was absolutely stunning with a large massage table in the middle of the room and a jacuzzi and a sauna in the other corner of the room, expensive set up not seen in any other massage ever all for 70 was a pure delight and really affordable for me. The session start a 15mins each in a very hot wooden sauna followed by a jacuzzi jet hot bath. She didn't pressure me but keep massaging me and creating a very warm relaxed moment...then she start a very vigorous relaxing massage of a bit more then an hour and I was so ecstatic by the hole experience. This woman is so charming, intelligent and so gentle that I honestly didn't want to leave the table and the room. Other all, her skills in massaging, knowledge and personality made me feel special and her lovely room in her salon was deeply relaxing. So for a fact, I can tell you that she is 100% legit and work only with regulars trusted customer. Very busy she don't answer phone and most of her booking are by text or online on her website where you have to pay online and give your full name. She is beautiful, sexy, fit, single woman working in her own salon. hard working lovely woman who give the most wonderful massage that I ever had in Newcastle. I hope to book her soon again and vividly recommend her to anyone who can afford the privilege of a very special and different experience. She in fact has been recommended by me by a friend and also strangely by my masseuse in Gateshead despite never ever meeting her...as it seems that Joy offers seems to attract more attention especially her Oasis offer that I've booked. Also to set the record straight, she refuse offering other services? and definitively stopped her VIP massage weeks ago before I attend as she heard about men commenting coarsely on this forum about women, using them and shaming them for their personal sexual privilege. This only remind me all the change happening in media about the hashtag METOO that women start fighting for more respect and dignity in their work. So regrettably for me I can only talk about the great experience that I've had.
