If you have done business with this company, you may want to double check with the El Paso Planning…read moreand Inspection Department to make sure that The Dorian Construction Group LLC did not do the same thing to you as they did to me. I would not recommend this company for any project in your home. The person that I dealt with was Miguel Mercado. I hired this company to build a swimming pool in my backyard around May 2022. The project was completed in June 2023. The warning against hiring this company has to do with the following facts: - They finished building the swimming pool with an expired permit - They never scheduled a final inspection for the swimming pool. Late last year, around September 2023, I hired another company to do a different project in my backyard, and one of the workers mentioned to me that the electrical work done by The Dorian Construction Group LLC for my swimming pool was done incorrectly, or not up to code. I decided to contact the El Paso Planning and Inspection Department to schedule an inspection. The inspector notified me on the day of the inspection that the permit for the swimming pool was never renewed after it expired on December 23rd, 2022 and no one had scheduled a final inspection of the swimming pool. There were a few things that were done incorrectly, such as: -There was no red caution tape placed above the grey pipe that contains the electrical wire. - There was not tracer wire placed next to the yellow gas pipe. I opened a claim against them with their bond company but I was informed that I had to give them a second chance to correct these issues. The Dorian Construction Group LLC did renew the permit and took care of a couple of smaller issues, but they did not do anything to correct the missing red caution tape or the tracer wire. After a few weeks of not hearing anything from them, I decided to hire a different company to correct these issues. I do not know how to describe their response to this matter. After finding out that I had to give them a second chance, I sent them a letter and an email explaining the findings of the investigation. I received an email from them that included the following sentence: "I want to express my gratitude for informing us about the recent audit findings.: I do not know how this company runs their business, but they are either very incompetent, or unethical, or both. Finally, after the swimming pool was finished, I noticed a leak in the concrete wall where the skimmer is located. They have sent people to correct the problem, I think four to five times, but it has never been fixed correctly. I finally decided to hire another company to fix the problem rather than continue dealing with The Dorian Construction Group LLC.

This company is a scam!! We decided to contract Dorian construction group because Miguel committed…read moreto completing the project (pool and backyard landscaping) in 3-4 months. We agreed to move forward and stressed many many times how important it was that this project be completed as our son has cancer and we wanted to enjoy the summer in our backyard because we are limited to what we can do. Originally they were quick to break ground but after they received the 3rd payment (which we unfortunately agreed to pay because Miguel stated they needed the money to move forward even though the work was not complete), things halted. When I would mention that he said the project would be completed in 3-4 months, he would just say that a completion date was not in the contract. I'm pretty sure this is his pattern given how many litigations there are against him. You won't find anything against Dorian Construction group, but I encourage you to look them up under his name and you will be surprised. After 9 months of the project not being close to completed and summer ending, we decided to cancel the contract. The work (or should I say what was NOT done) was so surprising. Miguel lied to us that irrigation had been run, it was not. Instead, he had a company come in and fill our entire backyard with rocks while we were away for my sons surgery and radiation. He also had them cover the trench that irrigation was to be ran and then told us that it was done. The company he hired to do the work confirmed what he told them. The auto fill for the pool was never completed, instead, they just cut the pvc pipe and put concrete over it. There was never a pool decking ground ran, and if it was.. they never had it inspected. The pipes for the pool were crossed and not laid correctly. The plumbing pipe was not to code. The gas line was not up to code. The spa was 51" deep vs the standard depth. And when we asked to have it corrected, they said they could not add extra concrete to fix the depth and seat height. The concrete pad for the equipment was very small and needed to be doubled in size. The 30x10 pergola that was put up did not have hurricane ties or brackets. It only has nails. The turf for the play area is the cheapest turf on the market. Which is surprising because our project total was $150k. Overall, we are so happy we had someone else complete our project. If you want to be scammed out of money, get low quality uncompleted work, and have someone else come in to finish the job.. then I encourage you to go with Dorian. But to save you time, money, headaches, and sanity.. please please stay away from them!!
