Just had the most professional and fulfilling experience I've ever had with a law firm here at The…read moreHaney Law Firm. This is a family business, run by Attorney Caitlin Haney Johnston, and her sister Amber, with the rest of the team. I learned after residing in Texas for the last five years, that my will and trust from California were invalid in Texas. That was an unpleasant awareness, as it took quite a bit of time to prepare those documents. My job offered "MetLife-Prepaid Legal" as an annual benefit. MetLife even offered an affordable family plan. So we made the call, discussed our needs and shortly thereafter, we were reviewing the draft documents and signing our finals. We needed a Spanish translation for one of our family members. No problem, as their Paralegal Celeste speaks Spanish fluently. The office visit was amazing. They were so patient and understanding with all our questions. Not once did I feel rushed. It was like talking to a family member that knew the law. Over all it was a great experience, and a weight off my shoulders. I can't praise them enough how they helped me breathe easier knowing that this matter was done. Thank you Caitlin, Amber and Celeste for your professional help with this matter. We truly appreciate y'all. Michael C. - Georgetown

When my uncle died without a will, the prospect of going through probate in a far away state seemed…read morelike an impossible task. After interviewing several Austin Estate Attorneys we chose the Haney Law Firm and WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!!! They are fantastic! During the lead up to our hearing, they were in constant communication with us, made sure we knew exactly what to expect and helped us gather all of the information both they, the Ad Litem (Court appointed attorney) and the judge needed. Flash forward... I can NOT believe how supremely prepared Caitlan Haney Johnston (our attorney) was for the Probate Hearing. Both the witnesses and I were thoroughly prepped for the testimony we would be expected to give and, by the time we walked into the courtroom, we were all completely comfortable with what to expect. The hearing went exactly as we were told it would by Caitlan and she stayed with us to make sure all of the post hearing paperwork was filled out correctly including the stamped copies of the judge's orders. The next day I received both calls and emails from Amber (the amazing paralegal) and Caitlan making sure we knew exactly what the court expects of us and the time lines. I could not have asked for more!!! The Haney Law Firm is the absolute "Best of the Best!!!"

ALWAYS gave credit where credit was due regarding his team! 5! Alex, and his team WON MY CASE! Unfortunately (or fortunately??) I don't live the life that would require an attorney on retention but if I did I would strongly advise Alex and his team.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Amini & Conant--particularly with partner…read moreAlex Conant--was extremely disappointing and left me in a far worse position than when I first retained the firm. What I expected to be competent, professional representation turned into a three-year ordeal filled with delays, poor communication, unexpected costs, and serious mismanagement of my case. I hired this firm for a civil lawsuit that Alex repeatedly estimated would cost no more than the low six-figure range from start to finish. I relied on those assurances when deciding how to proceed. Yet after three years of representation, and after already approaching six figures in payments, I was suddenly informed--right before trial--that the total cost could be nearly double the amount originally quoted. This drastic change came with no prior warning, no detailed explanation, and no reasonable justification. Even worse, Alex refused to reschedule my trial date unless I paid an additional $30,000 retainer, despite the trial being almost a year away. This made it financially impossible to continue under his representation and forced me to find new counsel just to keep my case alive. Communication throughout the representation was equally troubling. There were multiple stretches where weeks or even months passed without responses to emails. Critical information--including a countersuit filed against me--was not communicated in a timely manner, leaving me uninformed about major developments in my own case. This lack of responsiveness caused constant stress and made it nearly impossible to make informed decisions. In terms of case management, I experienced significant delays that could have been avoided with even basic diligence. In fact, my case was pushed back 12-18 months due to issues stemming from the firm's handling of filings, procedures, and amendments--including those relating to TUFTA claims. These delays had real financial consequences and set my case back dramatically. After three years of mounting costs, delays, and broken assurances, I had no choice but to terminate the firm and seek new representation. My new attorney--who took the case on contingency--immediately flagged multiple concerns about how the matter had been handled up to that point. Because of the repeated mismanagement, lack of communication, and serious concerns regarding the handling of my case, I am now compelled to file an ethical grievance with the Texas State Bar, as it is the only avenue available to seek accountability. What I needed was honesty, communication, and competent guidance. What I received instead was a lack of transparency, inconsistent information about costs, poor communication, and case management issues that materially affected the outcome and timeline of my lawsuit. This was easily the most stressful, expensive, and frustrating professional experience I've ever had. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this firm to do thorough research and ask very specific questions about communication, cost transparency, and case management before retaining them. I hope my experience helps others avoid the situation I found myself in after placing my trust in this firm.
