Before Kathleen, I had hired 17 years' experience (native English) lawyer, and the divorce process and life had been getting messed up. I was not sure if I had extreme stress because of divorce, lawyer, ex-spouse or me. I lost my control after 6-7 months later and decided to change the lawyer to Kathleen Dong who my friend of friends (they are lawyers too in the different subject) recommended. After that, I was able to breath and focus on my job and life. I let Kathleen led me to close the case. Kathleen stopped me what I wanted(desired) based on the current law. however, she was very flexible to decide to get the deal, effectively leverage timing, gave me advice in impacted short words and considered what I needed for my life after the divorce while she processed my divorce cases. She had not hesitated to respond to protect me and prevent any indirect insult from my spouse's lawyer. I felt comfortable to trust her. I am not sure that Kathleen is a good lawyer or right lawyer to others, but she is good to me. And, it is a true that Kathleen and her team help/support me to close the divorce within 3months after she accepted my case. Thanks again.

My experience, several years ago, was wonderful. I found her reasonable, empathic and mostly....psychic! She warned my ex that enagaging an attorney would result in them looking at our home and putting a lien on it. My ex had issues with how things were going and ended up aborting mediation (Dina was our 2nd attempt). She engaged an attorney. Fast forward TWO FULL YEARS : $35,000 in liens from her attorney alone, and she got nothing more than she would have had she stuck with Dina to come to a settlement. Used this firm for 2 years, and had a stressful experience with them. This was the biggest mistake…read morewhen I fully trusted them at beginning. I only used one lawyer from this firm, and this review is for that one lawyer. The most painful experience I had in the process were: 1, Failure to Adequately Advocate for My Interests During the enforcement and negotiation stages of the case, I believe my legal and financial interests were not fully considered or protected. In many instances, it appeared that opposing counsel's requests and positions were accepted without sufficient challenge, investigation, or strategic advocacy on my behalf. 2, Significant Financial Harm As a result of the handling of this matter, I estimate that I suffered financial damages with no-child support and no-spousal support issues during a period in which I was experiencing substantial financial hardship. In the entire process, the opposite lawyer was leading the case, and no-one standing up for me. There are three bloody suggestions: Go to AI first to understanding the basic Family law in California no matter how frustrated you feel. You have to be educated by the system of California family law. 1, Financial harm is more painful to you then the divorce case does in the long term. You should be very careful about hiring a lawyer and evaluate their work every steps. 2, Do not hire a far-away lawyer, only hire local lawyer. 3, Review the process every 3 months when you make the payment. Asking questions about why and how. If you request child-support and spouse support, do it in the first 3 months, if your lawyer does not motived, do it yourself.
