Cute little shopping center in downtown Wrightwood that features a candy store, gift shop, and Christmas store with friendly customer service. Can buy tea and coffee as well as ice cream in the candy store as well. Have been here a few times to puruse the shops and enjoy a treat. The seasonal fudge is delicious and I highly recommend it. Also enjoy all the cut gifts they offer here. I bought some adorable peacock coffee mugs the last time I was here. Can't wait to see what unique treasures I find in the future here as well :) read more

I visited here when I was in Wrightwood recently and I love the old-school vibe of this candy shop. They have a large selection of ice cream candies. The whole thing I got chocolate ice cream and some sour belts. They serve very large scoops of ice cream so just a heads up, they also have a lot of cool trinkets in the window to buy from. If you're in town I definitely recommend stopping by. read more

Applewood Court is about 100 yards behind Wrightwood market right off route two in Wrightwood. They have their own parking on the street which is accessible even in the snow.. the staff are the most friendly and helpful you can find any where. We were here with the Indian Guides at the United Methodist Church camp, for our winter camp out. It's a mile hike from our cabin to Applewood Court. At that time all the boys had ice cream. Our Family revisited from Orange County, where it was raining, to watch the snowfall in Wrightwood. We stopped again at the Applewood Court, visited the ice cream and candy store. They make their candy fresh and have a counter full of sugar free candy. I had the best fresh Cherry Cordial of my life at that shop. It was amazing and just perfect. If you're ever in Wrightwood check this place out. Well recommended, we will return. read more

The Applewood Court is a really cute shopping center. The center has a store with adorable Christmas decorations, a gift shop with nice candles and other small items for the home, and a great ice cream and candy shop. The ice cream and candy shop is one of our favorite shops in town. We love going here to get ice cream, especially during the summer. We'll then enjoy our ice cream while walking around town, looking at all the beautiful stores. The ice cream and candy shop has a good selection of candy, and they even make their own fudge. They also have really delicious sugar-free chocolate. I always stock up on sugar-free candy for my diabetic family and friends while i'm here. This center is so cute, and we love coming here each time we're in Wrightwood! read more

BEST CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES and friendly staff! I always get a dozen of their truffles, the dark chocolate ones are my favorite. I told me husband to stop getting me flowers and get me those truffles! We will be moving out of state this year and I gotta say, they are probably what I will mostly miss from this charming town. lol My kids are also intolerant to dairy but can tolerate their dark chocolate peanut butter cups, I stock them up at home, it's their favorite treat. read more

Simple and cute little court yard with a few shops in it. Ended up going to the ice cream shop with the bf, ice cream was very good.. homemade style. I got one scoop and the guy really packed it in there, worth the money. Great little spot, definitely will be coming back again. read more

Horrible service from a young gal with dark hair in a ponytail. Very bad attitude. I asked if they had boxes to put the chocolate in for something special. And they had these really cute boxes. The guy next to her was very nice, young guy . He helped me out. Before I was walking out I saw some fresh chocolate chip cookies that looked delicious and I asked if I can get one. She grabbed the cookie slammed the top put it in the bag and flung it at me on the check out desk. Started slamming things like register and other little things around her. With a rude look she gave, I asked her did I upset you ? And she was shocked and checked me out. My experience i very much wanted it to be good. I was excited to go there. But I left not happy. I don't think I will be going back if I'm gonna be treated that way in a place that should be exciting. because of all that yummy goodies. Customer service is very important and some people won't go back even if it's good, if People will be rude. I would say to the owner that has all those goods to be wise who they hire. Because those yummy treats are worth having good service. read more

I love this place! I've been going here since I was a toddler, but it's not just the nostalgia that makes it worth going here. It's just a quaint little place and I love all of the little pieces they have in their shops- especially in their Christmas Shop. I never go here without getting a little ice cream treat in their Candle & Candy Shop. Everyone is also so friendly. I highly recommend this place. read more

This place has a little shop with candles and other knick knacks. Most people go to the store where they have ice cream, milkshakes, iced tea, candies, truffles, chocolates and homemade butter fudge! They also have benches and sitting areas you can rest at. I actually forgot and left my wallet in one of the benches. Fortunately, someone saw it brought it to the lady inside the store. I don't know your names but know that I really appreciate your kindness! The next day, we stopped by before heading home and bought treats to take home. We got chocolate fudge, rocky mountain fudge and s'mores. read more

Had everything from gummies, candy cigars, truffles, turtles, peanut butter cups, but what I loved was their homemade fudge. Bought the rocky road and peanut butter, sweet, buttery, and rich. Found this place after stopping by the village and looking for a place with ice cream. Very nice store with gifts, assortments of candy, fudge and ice cream! I ordered a shake and an ice cream cone - delicious! There is a outdoor seating area in the courtyard where you can enjoy your treats. I noticed that they also serve warm drinks for those cold snowy days. read more

Came here for some ice cream after I had breakfast at Evergreen Cafe. This place is pretty small, on the outside it doesn't look like an ice cream shop. I got 2 scoops, one expression cup and cookie and cream. They have a few chairs on the outside you can hangout and enjoy the view. Nice little shop overall. read more

If you'd like to adventure all the way down Angeles Crest Highway from Los Angeles you'll end up in Wrightwood, a tiny town with various restaurants and a couple shops. Outside of outdoors activities (such as hiking and what not), restaurants, and one very cool antique shop, there's not much here. So if you're not into that other stuff, I would recommend getting ice cream at Applewood court! There are a few sections to this place. There is a Yankee Candle Store that has other various gifts and toys. If your little on is seeking to fill up one of those generic bag of rocks and gems (which is generally excititng for them, while being an inexpensive buy), they have those here. There is a Christmas Shop in the basement that was closed when we were there for some reason. It didn't look big. All in all the shops were not exciting. Very generic. However, the best part is the Ice Cream! It's a small shop but it has ice cream and candy. I liked how the candy is in old fashioned candy jars. The prices are good here as well. The staff was friendly too. All in all this isn't the most exciting place in the world, but it's one of the only things in Wrightwood and it's fun. Who doesn't love going into an ice cream and candy shop after a long drive? haha. We mainly took the drive for the drive and scenery itself and this was a nice little place that made us feel good about stopping at the end and making it a destination (along with the antique store next door). There are tables outside in the court to sit and eat ice cream. There isn't any room in the shop itself, so I wouldn't go on a rainly day until you are bringing it in your car. The sign outside is nice, rustic and welcoming. read more

I was at the candle shop today. I had found a perfect gift for my husband. I waited 20 minutes at the register. No one ever showed up to help me. There was no sign anywhere saying to go anywhere else to pay. I ended up leaving without the product I wanted to purchase. I guess they aren't too worried about making money. I will say the candy shop was awesome! The fudge is delicious. read more

I love little mountain towns and the Applewood Court is a must stop when you're in Wrightwood. Ice cream, homemade candies and chocolates and on cold days a nice cup of hot chocolate to warm your bones. You can go next door and find a fun knick knack to take home with you. read more

Definitely a place you would want to take your family and friends and small children. Like a small little cottage you would see a picture of a novelty store or something you see in a movie. It is beautiful any time of year but we really loved it during winter. Beautiful little antique shops, little Fudge candy and ice cream shops with hot ciders and hot chocolates. read more

applewood court is a xmas store, a candy store, and a gift shop all rolled into one (although all three are sectioned off and have their own entrance). the xmas store is replete with anything and everything you need to decorate your house and tree. i am not understating when i say replete. their selection is quite varied. the gift shop has all kinds of items including scented candles, books, cards, fabrics and artwork. this is also a very complete store and if you need to buy someone a bday present chances are you'll find something here to yours and the recipient's liking. now to my favorite part of apple wood court: the candy store. they sell all matter of chocolate and sugar free chocolate items like chocolate covered almonds, peanuts and pretzels. in addition you can purchase from a wide selection of coffee beans and they even have children's candy. to top it all of they also serve ice cream and sorbets. i recommend this place to anyone who wants to walk around the town and check out the ambiance wrightwood has to offer. read more

If ever there was a real life Willy Wonka candy store, this place would be it. The variety is incredible, they make their own fudge which is definitely what they're known for, and they also have a great selection of sugar-free candies for those of us sugar-challenged individuals. I've always loved it here. For years Applewood Court and Apple Ann's has been a place my family has gone for ice cream, candy, and other treats. Visited after a very long absence and brought some friends from Arizona. Still as good as I remember, and happy to see they're still selling quality candy and fudge. read more

This place has been around since I was a kid. I remember going into the candy store, gosh maybe 25-30 years ago, and picking out some yummy candy or ice cream. And they always had the special candy you couldn't find elsewhere. Their fudge is delicious. My fiancé and I took a day trip to Wrightwood. As we were walking around exploring all the sights, we stumbled into this cute little area. We were looking for some last minute items for our wedding and found them in that store. Great service, great prices, great gifts! The owner is such a sweetheart. Spent the day around and about Wrightwood, went to Grizzly Cafe for lunch, played in the snow then stopped at this location on way home. I don't know what it was but the owner was very quiet and unfriendly to my family. Was taken aback because we've always been welcomed everywhere in Wrightwood with friendly people. This was the first. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. The service was unfriendly and the hot drinks we ordered were not great. My family is Latino, not sure if this was an issue but with the way we were treated it has to cross my mind. read more

After moving to Wrightwood in February, I stumbled across this little courtyard trio of goodies. It has since become my favorite place to shop. I'm there weekly. The owner is one of the nicest people I have met in Wrightwood and she is always so inviting. My family comes here almost every weekend for an ice cream stop and I shop here often for gifts and also trinkets of my own. It is my favorite gem here in the mountains and I always take family and friends here when they come to visit. read more

When she got it home and put batteries in it, it didn't work. We called the store, explained the situation, and also explained that we live out of town and wouldn't be able to return within their normal 7-day exchange period. We were specifically told by the manager/employee we spoke with that an exception would be made because we lived out of town and that we could exchange it the next time we were in Wrightwood. They even took down our information. We returned today expecting them to honor what we had been told, only to be told they wouldn't do anything for us. It's not about the $14. It's about standing behind your product and honoring your word. We did exactly what we were supposed to do--we called, explained the situation, and were assured that an exception had been made. To come back and be told something completely different is extremely disappointing. What makes this even more frustrating is that my family has made a point of supporting this small business year after year. My wife, mom, mother-in-law, aunt, grandmother, and sister-in-law all shop here, especially during the holidays. With everything the Wrightwood community has faced over the years--from fires and evacuations to flooding and severe weather--we've always felt it was important to spend our money locally and support the small businesses that help make this community what it is. That's why this experience is so disappointing. We weren't asking for a refund or special treatment. We simply wanted to exchange a defective $14 product based on an exception that an employee had already promised us. For a business we've intentionally supported year after year, I would have expected better customer service and for them to honor their word. Unfortunately, after this experience, they've lost our business. We will spend our money elsewhere.

The earrings were handmade by (if I recall) a local artist and the other two said the city's name. When I was there, a single employee was working. She was an older woman who was very nice to speak to. Another gentleman stopped in and I wasn't sure if he worked there or was buying something, but in either case, my impression of the people of Wrightwood was even better while driving out of the parking lot than it was when I entered. 5 out of 5 stars. And if the woman who was working there reads this, I might be back to buy the thing I was asking about so don't sell the thing before I can return to buy the thing.

There is some shade and the mountain views are absolutely breathtaking. The Grassy Hollow Visitor Center doesn't exist anymore. There was no one there. No ranger station or check-in. The campground is closed. It's now just a place to enjoy a peaceful hike and immerse in nature. I saw cyclers on highway 2, some motorcycles, and lots of people driving fast or racing around the mountain curves. I only encountered one other person on the trail. From what I saw the bathrooms are not functional. There's a sign saying that a parking pass is required but again, there's no ranger station to purchase tickets. Even near the Blue Ridge Trail down the road, the ranger station was closed so I'm not sure. I have an interagency pass that I display on my dashboard in lieu of the Adventure Pass. Make sure you have your first aid kit, hydration and just be careful. There's no cell reception in most of this part of the PCT. Nonetheless, it's beautiful. Enjoy!

Pacific Crest Trail review…read more. We were staying at a nearby campground and we were looking for a smaller family-friendly trail to hike. We found a section of the PCT that started at the Inspiration Point parking lot and kinda looped back through the Grassy Hollow campground and back to Inspiration point.. This was a great short hike.. The views were amazing you'll get a taste of what the East Angeles National Forest is all about. - Grassy Hollow is closed because of the pandemic. Unlikely to reopen until 2021. But you can still hike through it. There was a working bathroom there. - Parking at Inspiration Point does require an adventure pass ($5 at most stores in Wrightwood). BUT, if you parked across the street it seemed to be free. - Make this is a lollipop hike. When your hike is starting from Inspiration Point, and you get to grassy hollow campground, go right and continue along the PCT.. walk around until you see a man made road and turn left. This will take you back to Grassy Hollow campground and then back to Inspiration Point.
