From having a child here and working here, I personally saw the quality of care is not at all what you would expect in the actual setting sadly. The amount of money parents pay to have their children taken care of isn't at all equal to the quality of how the care is towards to the children. Its extremely low staff and the staff that is there is so unhappy. They are all over worked and exhausted. It's kind of insane how different things appear when a parent is coming or person that works from the corporate office! They will literally call the classrooms of whomever is expecting a parent or person from corporate to warn them and send over other teachers just in case they need help to get back in to order. Negligence towards the children's needs is seen here a lot and different forms of abuse. As a parent: A teacher had told me that my child was put out side a few days prior without gloves or anything and cried the whole time because she was so cold. ( the main teacher never once told me this even when I asked them how her day was going one hour after) Even though I was there at work the teachers said they couldn't let me know because they were already outside. Which one is a lie, and two I'm not sure if this is because of the uneducated of the teachers but honestly it wouldn't take a very highly educated person to find more than one solution to this problem. They acted like it wasn't a big deal. I then realized they always put kids outside and if they don't have proper attire or make sure to put their attire on "sometimes they can't look at all the kids" - what I was told. They say it's not that big of a deal.. um it IS! These are little babies and children. It's unacceptable to have a daycare that their ONLY job is to take care of children and they literally lack in that.. and other kids in other classrooms that I had been with the other teachers would reinforce that and say oh it's fine they can go outside- no it's 32 outside.. they NEED proper attire.. Another thing is from working here I realized if the kids don't have proper sleeping sheets and blankets the kids will be put just in the cot and expected to sleep comfortably and has to sit there and be quiet for the two hours or more... now how would that be comfortable? Or even makes sense. As a teacher: The rules here for the kids I almost laughed when I first heard them because it's so asinine. One rule about when the kids are eating ( the parents are paying for food it's built into the extreme high amount of money it costs to go here) a child can only get about a quarter of a cup of milk, and if the kid spills it at all on accident they can't get anymore because they want to teach them about how milk is expensive. And somehow Appletree that literally brings in over a million dollars can't afford more than a gallon of milk a month.. Yes maybe they kind of seems like someone is trying to teach a good point, but these are little babies! They all spill stuff all of the time and then you're going to hurt their little egos by saying "no I don't care if you accidentally spilled your milk you get no more... " like What?? it's SO sad.. I spill things some times I don't expect someone to say to me oh well you aren't allowed to drink that ever again. Oh but if a directors child or a parent who works at corporate child does it they are allowed as much as they want, as the same for food too, If those kids get hungry they can have more snacks but any other kid - nope! Not allowed at all just have to tell them sorry no YOU can't get any... Little kids are human too and they are not treated nicely at all there. Another thing I learned is the teachers talk about the kids, yes that's expected but they talk SO bad about some... like this kid is ugly. This one is evil. This kid I can't stand. I hate this kid. This one will have this disorder when they are older.. and they say it in FRONT of the kids . That is emotional abuse.. First off- Uneducated teachers who have little experience and schooling. The teachers would be very unhappy from feeling like staff didn't care about them and how they are very VERY underpaid. Most teachers seemed to be here because they didn't know where else to work, which is kind of mind blowing and highlights the fact of uneducated..from working here you don't need experience, nor do you need to be educated at all. And everyone is payed minimum wage.. Very unacceptable to how they handle kids behind closed doors. The staff seems very friendly too but unfortunately they all dislike one another and the directors. All they do is gossip about one another and complain about everything. Also, another thing that was shocking is that they do not have a proper cleaning company, like say at a school that has a janitor or custodial person. The teachers are responsible to clean all of the classrooms at the end of the night and mop the floors with old mops that have to be at least 10 years old and old vacuums that are about the same. read more

Our daughter has been at AppleTree in Standale for a little over a year (since she was 15 months), and we couldn't be happier with our choice in daycare! We are greeted each day with warm smiles from ALL of the staff, who truly make us feel welcome, and that our daughter is genuinely cared for. She is excited to go to "school" each day, loves her teachers and friends there, and she's learned SO much! At almost 2.5 years old, she has quite the vocabulary (favorite saying of the moment: "It's aMAzing!"), knows most of her shapes and colors, can recite her abc's, and count past 10, and comes home every day, having learned something new. The center itself is beautiful, very clean and organized, with a wide variety of age-appropriate toys and a super fun playground, split into two sections for the younger and older kids. The administrative staff are very friendly, quickly respond to any questions or needs we have, and do a great job keeping the parents up to date on the various happenings at the center. read more

Our children have attended AppleTree since they opened (~1.5 years). We are beyond satisfied with the care and attention they receive. After attending for about 6 months, the director (who is AMAZING!), stopped me to express her concerns about my daughter's speech development. I know this was not an easy conversation for her to have with me. But, she did it with such grace and care. We were able to work with the county to have a Speech Therapist come to AppleTree (while we were at work) and they helped to find a quiet space for her to work with my daughter to aid in her development. They even used the materials the therapist left behind in their day to day activities to try and help. Besides that, they are so easy to work with and accommodating to slight changes in schedules. As well as non-full time scheduling needs. I would definitely recommend AppleTree in Standale if you are looking for childcare! read more

We Love Appletree! The staff is friendly and goes out of there way to make sure our child is comfortable and happy each day! He LOVES going to "school!" The curriculum that Appletree presents is definitely age specific and appropriate. We also enjoy their many additional activities they put on each month for special events. It makes for a great Appletree learning community and friendly environment. Our son will definitely attend until Kindergarten! read more

As parents, we have done our best to show our children to treat people with respect and kindness. As they grow, and spend more and more time away from us, we worry that our values will fade. I have two girls who are currently enrolled at AppleTree full time. One of them is currently in pre-school at the center and the other started as an infant and is now in a toddler room. My 4 year old has learned so much over the course of this past year, I cannot believe the level of letter recognition and writing she is able to do at the age of 4. The teachers here are very invested in my child's education and I know she will be beyond prepared for kindergarten. My other child enjoys learning new things and playing with her friends. AppleTree provides a separate age appropriate playground for the toddlers. She loves to go outside, which they get to do twice a day! We love AppleTree and would highly recommend this center for all ages. read more
