This is the most random little spot I have ever been into…read more Its basically aisles and aisles of extremely packed shelves with everything you can imagine possibly imagine packed into them. They make full use of every available space with the shelving on the wall reaching to the roof (it was not very clear how you actually get the products down from there) and food items even being packed on the floor. It had a big enough wine and chocolate section, which is exactly what I was looking for. If nothing else, this is a must see for the pure randomness of it all! :)

The Express version of Teso seems to be designed for those on the go, perhaps grabbing a bite to eat before work, a quick lunch, or a sandwich after getting off work. I went in for water but ended up leaving with much more. The prices are so reasonable, hence why I bought more than enough. I was a little offput that the milk case doors were left open which probably isn't right for good safety reasons but other than that no complaints. They had fresh fruit, drinks, candies, dairy items, and things like chips/crisps and crackers. It's not a full grocery store though since it's an express version. They do have self checkouts as well which helps speed things along. Such a great place if you're hungry and don't want to spend a lot.

They have a rather small selection of ready-to-go meals, and I think they only get one delivery of pastries per day. But they're open early, they're open late, and their prices are good, in spite of being the only food option for the numerous hotels and upscale residential developments that have gone up nearby. A huge organic selection. A whole shelf of tea. Fantastic ethnic cooking section chock full of sauces, ingredients, grains, rices, beans and any element you probably need, spices, decent bakery with breads, rolls, pitas, etc. Eggs and dairy, beer, wine, a lot of coconut water, and a fresh produce section (outside) which is standard, but nice to have. Things you won't find: fresh meats or fish. Par for the course! The family that runs it is very friendly as well (always so polite!) and I always leave feeling quite good about supporting a local food shop that is not only convenient, but tucked away from the madness of the Old Street roundabout.
