I grew up listening to Jon Courson and this weekend we took a drive from Salem down to this area and decided to go to Applegate Christian Fellowship. I have a service dog who has attended every church service with me - we were even openly welcomed at Athey Creek where Pastor Brett Meador teaches, and our own church in Salem. As we were walking up - a guy in a red tshirt tells us my service dog isn't allowed. Very disappointing!! We left and drove back to Faith Baptist where I went as a teenager for events. read more

I live in Virginia Beach Va, I have never attended Applegate Christian Fellowship I was introduced to Brother Jon's teaching while in prison from 02 to 07 'it was thru his teachings on Searchlight I got saved. I was blessed to attend a Mens retreat in Chattanooga, TN where Jon was the teacher. My wife and i still enjoy the teachings at applegate we watch the sunday and wednsday service every week online. We do attend a local church here in Virginia Beach but we get our best spirtual feast from the teachings of Jon and his boys and also Kay Auther of Precept Ministries. Im writing this as a "Consumer Christian" being on the road quite a bit I tend to church hop mostly Calvary Chapels as it can be difficult to research church doctrine on line. I've known of Pastor Jon Coursen from his visits to my home church Harvest Christian fellowship in Riverside Ca. I was working about 2.5 hrs away and decided to visit Applegate. The first time I got there I was amazed at the beautiful outdoor auditorium. There's two things I look for when Im visiting 1) is the staff friendly, do they make you feel welcome Applegate does this very well Brady welcomed me and answered all my questions 2) the most important thing, is the gospel preached? The first time I attended not Jon but his son Ben was giving the message, you can tell Jon has raised Ben in the way he should go. This is a church that will never lack leadership the gospel is preached whether its Jon, or Ben Coursen or Brian Fowler, or Joe Strobel Applegate is what I would wish for all new believers experience with body of Christ to be like, Matthew 11:5 NKJV [5] The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. and people are baptized on the spot :) Although Jon did not preach he sat towards the middle back and listened to see what God might have this day for him threw Bens massage. After attending there every other weekend for 2 months I made friends there, its hard not to. I got to attend a retreat at " The Mountain top" retreat center available to all. When I tried to pay for the retreat $30 if this is not your home church they wouldn't except my $$ I was told its free like the grace of God amazing if you ever get a chance to Attend AppleGate I pray we take that experience back to our home churches. I won't give this 5 stars because they say there's no perfect church and if there is don't go there because you'll ruin it. But my family has been attending Applegate for over 18 years and love it, love the people, love the teaching . The Bible being studied every time the doors open! No fluff, straight up Jesus and his people! The worship changes as do the service times, so nope can get too set in their ways here, which is a good thing! read more

Jon Courson's teaching's are truly incredible. He is certainly annointed to teach God's perfect and Holy word, no doubt. One of the finest teacher's i've ever experienced. I leaned a lot in my time there. However, ACF is not a friendly church to newcomer's who are unfamiliar with the area and are sincerely seeking to connect and serve. Pastor Jon is not approachable. I attended ACF for 6 months-Sunday service, Wednesday study, and an occasional Thursday prayer... I even attended a mountain top retreat. Never once did any pastor(or pastor's wife).... or any church leader approach me to greet or welcome me. The facilities are gorgeous, indeed. Beauty abounds, it's true. But if you are looking for a warm and welcoming church... a family type feel, etc...I would certainly look elsewhere. read more

If you can agree with me that the role of Christianity (and all other religions practiced in the United States) is to keep us all functioning within appropriate moral standards so that we do not abuse, victimize, or disrespect one another, then hear me out. Our moral and ethical conduct seals the gaps where our laws fall short. Many things are legal but are not ethical or moral. For example my mother recently died from complications associated with dementia. While in that demented state my sister, who attends the Applegate Christian Fellowship, took advantage of her and influenced her to change her will and to change all her bank accounts to joints accounts. Thus when my mother died last summer my sister, as the named Executrix, took full control over the estate and has refused to execute the will. Plus by convinced my demented mother to put her on all her bank accounts, my sister took the majority of the money for herself. Yes, it was within her legal right as a joint account holder to take as much of the money as she wanted because normally money held jointly is not encumbered by a will but was it moral --- no. We're not talking about chump change -- we're talking about almost a half-million dollars. I was a joint account holder on one of the accounts along with my mother and sister and by-law was supposed to receive half the money in the account when my mother died. Instead, my sister ran to the bank (I do not live in the same state) and withdrew it all. I won't bore you with all the gory details because this is just the tip of the iceberg as to the immoral conduct of my sister. I asked Pastor Courson (in this case it was Jon but Jon, Ben and Peter-John are all the same) to step in because one within his flock had seriously gone astray and he refused. In the response I received from Applegate Fellowship it stated that, "they do not like to get involved in family disputes". I ask you again, what are our clergy for if not to help keep us all in good stead with God and to help keep us on the moral high ground? After they refused to speak with my sister about her transgressions, I asked them not to take any monetary donations from her because by everything that is righteous, the money belongs to my mother's heirs. To that they said, "we close our eyes to donations". So I asked them if that means they take donations from organized crime, the Nazis, the Hells Angels, the Skinheads, the KKK, and all other criminal and subversive groups within the United States who by their very existence insult the teachings of Christ. To that they had no comment. The bottom line is that you don't need to pay Jon, Ben or Peter-John your hard-earned money to read you scripture. You can read it yourself. They don't have the right nor fortitude required to translate the scriptures. Instead of giving your money to Capo Beach Calvary or Applegate Christian Fellowship, put it to your or your family's welfare. It should be apparent to you that the Coursons have figured out how to remove money from your pocket and put it into theirs without working for it. Their refusal to perform 90% of their job (conduct individual and family counseling and correct wrongdoings within their perish) makes it obvious that they're in it only for the money. Before you attend their sermons or give them money, ask yourself -- what did they do to earn it? Don't forget that when you need them to help with a family or personal matter, they'll turn a deaf ear. read more

A spectacular place to worship our Lord. This time of year we are outside in the amphitheater but inside the sanctuary is wonderful also. Pastor Jon Courson is a legend and despite sometimes being boringly repetitious he is a spectacularly good teacher. His son Ben is a 25 year old wonder whom I'd listen to for hours on end. The congregation is welcoming and warm and there is absolutely no pressure from anyone. Everything focuses on Jesus and His teachings. The Bible is the foundation of all our learning here. We are members of the church. It is where I was baptized and holds a special place in my heart. We have been going there for a little over three years. Pastor Jon preaches what the bible teaches. How pastor Jon views the LGBTQ community is not whats important. It is what the bible teaches. It's how God views that behavior. The LGBTQ community should be grateful that they live here in the USA where they have the freedoms they have. In many countries they are prosecuted and put to death for their un-holy behavior. Never had a more grace filled, knowledgeable or love filled Pastor! Jon was the source of such healing after a nasty church split! My now late husband and I had the honor of sitting at his feet at CCCM for over a year and I know he kept my husband from leaving the church altogether! His grace and kindness gave us both a model of what a Christian should look like... and how we should look to others! What a wonderful representative of Jesus on this earth! Jon never tries to act like the boss, ever! He is so excellent at pointing the way to the only boss (Jesus) and doing it with love! Thank you Jon! Now live in Thailand so don't regularly attend. Jon and his 25 year old son Ben are amazing teachers in the most beautiful setting in Southern Oregon. Very friendly environment with free hamburger lunch after summer services in the amphitheater. This church changed my life and will always be my spiritual home. Love the worship music. read more

I have to give ACF a 5 because, as the other reviewer said there are no perfect churches, but ACF comes closer than any I have been to. Best teaching I have ever had. Communion ALL the time, as it should be. The tragedies the Courson family have gone through only make them more loving and an example of how we are to follow Jesus and depend on Him for everything. I have learned God will provide, has always provided, will always provide. No fear ever taught here, except if you do not receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Other good churches in our valley, but when I walked into one and the sanctuary had a sign above it which said, "Auditorium" I wanted to walk out. God never intended His synagogue or church to be an auditorium. It's a sanctuary, meaning a place of peace, rest, and a place where Christians meet to pray, hear the word of God, get baptized, get married, etc. Not to be rented out to the public for their worldly needs. read more

When I first saw it. It looks like a big house. The yard was so green with beautiful big trees surrounded. I went there at around 6:30am morning worship. I could see all the light from outside. I felt like walking into a very nice 5 star hotel with only a few people in it. I loved the sanctuary with dim light and you could see the beautiful plants through the Celling high windows on both side. The cross in the middle with water running behind it. Oh how peaceful when I sit there singing. I felt like I am in the retreat place. I walk out the door on the side there is a nice quite room to sit and meditate. There was another nice fire place with sofa to sit on. I loved the amphitheater so green. All the grass looks so green ith lots of trees everywhere. I feel like in the park. We love Pastor Jon teaching and the worship team with out drums. After service we get free lunch English muffin, egg, hash brown, sausage, fruit, orange juice. You can go get prayer before and after church. We ate while fellowhip with others in the church. People were very friendly. If I live there I will go there everyday at 6:30am to worship. read more
