The last two months, my bestie and I have been walking the track and participating in the water aerobics class at 7:00pm on Mondays. Staff have been friendly most of the time. This evening the gal at the front desk was a little snippy to us. We made a comment saying how the water park was quiet, she quickly replied back with yeah, can't you tell it's being cleaned? It came off kinda rude to us. Almost made us feel silly/dumb for making an observation and being vocal about it. We utilize the walking track and pool. Place is pretty clean. Water aerobics instructor and fellow participants are all very friendly. Water aerobics instructor is nice and friendly. She is always welcoming to us and thanks us for coming to class. Great class. The day pass is $10.00 each time, not too bad for drop in. I wish step class was offered in the evenings and on the weekend. Then maybe I'd consider joining as a member. Until then guest pass it is.

I was here for the Eagan Indoor Market (select Wednesdays) being held in one of the gathering rooms on the lower level. It was a bit smaller than I'd been anticipating from the list of vendors on the website, but it was still nice to browse local small businesses, and I'm glad the community center makes the time and space for folks to do so. While there, I scoped out what appeared to be the "main attraction" so to speak, the fitness center, which has a large gymnasium, equipment, and an indoor track. They had plenty of showers, bathrooms, water fountain/bottle refill station, coat racks, vending machines with beverages and snacks, and a place to get changed and such. Seems really nice, but the pricing online seemed a bit steep to me ($40/mo.); a shame, my husband and I have been looking for an indoor track so we can run in the winter without worrying about slipping on the ice! There's also an indoor kids playplace ($8 fee) on the upper level and a senior center on the lower level. So they are trying to cater to all ages here. The parking lot is quite sizable, so no worries about finding a place to park (unless of course there's a big event going on at the festival grounds!). There are plenty of outdoor amenities in the surrounding Eagan Central Park too, such as a kid's playground, splash pad, fitness course, walking paths, and bandshell. There's also a postbox near the entrance of the building if you need to drop off some mail while you're here.

That is because sometimes I take a moment to gladly do volunteer hours with son working in their kitchen. Yes, I do more than stuff my face 8)... THE Fish and loaves are served Monday-Friday night at 5~7 pm. If your high school kids need volunteer hours, this is a great place to help the people in need. Much love. It is a fairly new community center, so it has that minimalist, Scandinavian vibe to it. There is always a helpful person on staff at the info desk, too. This place has a play space called the "backyard", which is fantastic. It is big enough for the kids to have fun, not much in the way of sketchy things where the kids can get hurt, and not too big that you lose your kid and lose your mind trying to find them. I also feel that the parents here are good at keeping an eye on their kids and there aren't any kids that are too old, rampaging around knocking the little ones over. There is also a golf pro shop and a simple restaurant, too. It is a good spot for an afternoon play date with the kids and some parents, then head to the restaurant and stuff the kids, and then off home for bath and bedtime.

The wide, open staircase connecting the floors allows you to enjoy the plants, the soft lighting, and the historical photographs scattered on the walls. The Garden Room is a lovely cafe/dining area where the city holds banquets. The tiered room opens to a glass wall overlooking a lush garden pathway. The meeting rooms are typical conference-style arrangements, but the murals and old photos in the hallway draw your eye. Several flatscreen monitors display current and upcoming events as well as congratulation notices for various city employees, giving you something to look at if you have to wait a bit. There is plenty of free parking in the adjacent lot, including two electric charging stations. The staff are always friendly and helpful, whether you're renewing your dog license or looking for city ordinance help.
