I lasted almost 24 hours before my husband brought me back to the ER. A tech dropped me and left me on the floor for a half hour. I had a large hematoma and the on-call doctor could not be reached. I got food poisoning. The call button in my room did not work. There was feces on the bedside commode. And oh yeah, THEY DIDN'T KNOW I WAS THERE! When I was in severe pain and needing to relieve myself, I was pressing my non-working call button for hours. When I finally used my cell phone to call the main number, a nurse came running down the hall, flung open my door, and exclaimed "Oh, my God! They didn't even know I was there! The nighttime staff failed to mention that somebody had been admitted the night before. I missed the breakfast rounds so a few hours later my first food of the day was a wet hotdog that I said I would not eat. They removed the tray and gave me no other options. After bringing a small claims case against them, a judge did award me some money for "pain and suffering" although no amount of money could ever make up for the hours that I was trapped in a bed with a broken ankle, a broken call button, and no one to help or even know I was there. Steer clear of this place if you don't want to be traumatized for life!

Let me start out by saying STAY VERY FAR AWAY from this place! It looks great when you first drive…read moreon to the property, nicely manicured gardens, ample parking, etc. but this is a perfect example of all that glitters is not necessarily gold. My father was sent from the hospital to MH to recover from a surgery. Due to the lack of qualified RN's and LPN's, he experienced nothing but setbacks and an overall deterioration in condition. They simply do not have enough Aides/RN's/LPN's to tend to all of the people rehabbing there. It is not unusual to push the red "help" button and not get a response for 30-45 minutes! Those buttons are provided for a reason and they are simply ignored, A LOT! They don't check on the residents as often as they should, case in point...we went to visit my father one day and found him lying on the floor, next to his bed, face down in urine! Additionally, they did NOT administer his medications properly therefore he was overly drugged A LOT! Upon asking the nurses about the medication regime that he was prescribed by his doctor, compared to what they were actually doing, mysteriously, none of them knew how to interpret their own computer software that tracks the medications they dispensed! How can meds possibly be dispensed properly if one does not understand how to use the computer system? There was no concern for the patients, when they get to you, they get to you and you take what you get. If you're a patient at any of these rehab facilities (let's face it, none of them are great), you MUST have a person (family member, friend, etc) who is advocating for you the entire time. If not, you will be taken advantage of and potentially have a worse outcome than what sent you there in the first place. Question EVERYTHING, take them to task, don't stand for getting pushed off. Hope this was helpful for those struggling with these sorts of things; it's not easy wading through our broken healthcare system.

My…read moreexperience as a visitor here has been far from satisfactory, and I would not recommend it to anyone seeking a supportive and nurturing environment for their loved ones. First and foremost, the treatment of patients leaves much to be desired by most of the staff. It is heartbreaking to witness residents being neglected and not receiving the attention or care they deserve. Room bells ringing, eventually someone enters turns off the bell light and continues on their way. Awful. Simply awful treatment. The staff appears to be too busy to attend to even the most basic needs of the patients, which is utterly unacceptable in a facility that is supposed to provide round-the-clock care. Oddly enough there is plenty of time to talk at the nurses station about personal appointments and watch TV all in the Library while patients are waiting for assistance. Time and again, I have heard the same excuse: "We are understaffed." While understaffing is a legitimate issue, it shouldn't be used as a justification for the lack of compassion and dedication required in such a critical field. Leadership should prioritize hiring and training more qualified empathetic staff to ensure that residents are receiving the highest standard of care being paid for. When a patient is at the end-of-life stage, it is very inappropriate to hear for an RN "We've all been through it" Well, that may be a correct statement but very inappropriate during an extremely difficult time. An RN takes the Nightingale Pledge " devote myself to the welfare of those committed to my care". Care for the patients as if they were your loved ones. Patients should not be in a position of waiting an excessive amount of time especially if they are a fall risk. Remember patients are in need of care or they wouldn't be there, and the staff would not have jobs! Arrogance and unprofessionalism is what I would call the majority of the staff. Retraining and an overhaul are what is needed. While a private room might be nice, the quality of the rooms is awful. Holes in the walls, some patched unpainted walls, stained carpets, filthy bathrooms. The dietary selections leave much to be desired. I can't even image what the kitchen looks like. When a family is faced with needing a facility, this is one that should not be recommended. The facility is in dire need of improvement, both in terms of staffing and management practices. It is crucial for those in charge to address these issues promptly to create a more positive and caring environment. Until significant changes are made, I cannot in good conscience ever recommend this facility to anyone.
