This was the worst experience I've ever had with Apple. I love Apple, their products and normally this store is great, but last night it was terrible. My bf ordered a new phone online and went to pick it up in store. We thought that we'd be in and out since we went at around 5:30pm on a Tuesday. After waiting about 10 minutes an employee came over to "help" us. I'm not sure if the employee was new or what but they were very unhelpful and also seemed disengaging. My bf was trying to retrieve his Apple ID on one of the computers and struggling. The employee that was helping us was just doodling on an iPad not even paying attention. Finally, she noticed and said oh try this (but I honestly don't think she knew). From there it was all downhill. I'm still not sure what happened but there was an error that occurred when the employee was trying to transfer the information from his old and activate the new phone. The employee made sure to communicate that she was still on the phone to every employee around her, but not us. At no point did she explain anything (without me asking what was happening). I noticed that her manager was also there and he didn't seem to help (even though she kept asking everyone else what to do). After nearly an hour another employee came over, introduced herself and told us we had options. I honestly think we would have been there all night had she not come. Also, the employee helping us said we had to go to the sprint store to fix the solution but the other associate said we could do it over the phone. However, neither could actually explain what had happened. Normally this store is attentive and considerate to their customers, however last night was not the case. I just wish the manager who was on the floor would have seen that his employee needed help and actually took care of the situation (instead of having us wait for so long). Or even communicating what was happening would have been better than just having us stand there with no clue what was going on. The most frustrating part is the phone is still not activated. Went in with my phone because since the new update my camera is occasionally black and I can't take a picture. I told the representative about my issue. At the time my camera was working. He looks at it and says to me in a condensing tone " DO YOU THINK ITS BLACK NOW? I just looked at him and said" Has anyone else reported having a problem with there cameras? Yesterday something got stuck in my phone and I could not put the charging cord in place to charge my phone. Today we walked into the Apple store in Brea and expeced to wait for hours because it was crowded. But after a few minutes we were waited on by Richard L. who looked into my phone and knew exactly what was wrong with it. He wisked it to the back and within 5 minutes he was back and my phone was as good as new. AND he did this with one hand! The other was in a sling! The worst costumer service ever. When someone says they need to sit there's no reason to kick them out especially when they're waiting for their computer appointment and can't walk too much. There was no reason for the scene. I've never been so embarrassed as I have been today. Hopefully the techs can help with my computer. Your manager, Taj should be informed of ADA guidelines and not telling someone they don't look disabled. I'm feeling so upset right now that this even happened. We are in 2017 and there's still discrimination. I doubt Microsoft would treat people this way. The customer service rep who told Taj that I refused to move was Stephanie. There wasn't even an apology! How does Taj know that I don't have a disability because after all she's a manager at the Apple Store not a medical doctor. The new store design is super sleek and modern. The gentleman who helped me find headphones was extremely kind and had the answer to each and every question/concern I could possibly think of. I was torn between two different versions of the new Beats headphones for my workouts. He told me he personally had used both when jogging and found that the beats pro3 were more comfortable and that he never had to worry about them falling out of his ears, and that it is safer because its not completely noise cancelling. This means you can still be aware of zooming cars if youre running outside, or other people in the gym that you wish to not interrupt their workout. read more

I visited the Apple store twice to get help. In my second visit, I was insulted. Disgusted and humiliated, I vowed never to go back or even buy an APPLE again! In my first visit, I explained that I had two iPhones and with almost similar Apps, photos and data. My problem was with the 2nd white iPhone that after upgrading to several IOS versions, I lost the data, as well as the inability to restore the latest backup. The backup/restore software continued to abend. I had no problem with my other iPhone. The 'genius' technicians suggested other corrective procedures and the next few days and the rest of the weekend, non of their suggestions worked. Determined to resolve the problem, I returned again carrying my laptop with the backup data. After asking for help in restoring my lost contacts data, Non would help. The technician assigned transferred me to their manager. I suspected that they knew they could not help. I was still within my warranty period and explained either a hardware failure or the bad IOS version caused the eventual failure and probable irrecoverable corruption of the backup. The manager, citing his educational background refused to acknowledge or accept Apple's fault or to give credit to my claim and after learning that I too was an IT consultant with over 30 years experience, he became irate and sadly became insulting. At about past 8:30 PM, he stepped out and came back (the air conditioner was turned high and the area got very cold). He did nothing, not even to touch the phone. His only suggestion was for me to purchase a new phone. He said the phone worked and there was nothing to fix! I became irritated but he threatened to call the security on me. I left humiliated, vowing never to buy any APPLE PRODUCT AGAIN. read more

Awful service and staffing. I have tried making walk-in appointments twice and both times I was turned away. The first time was 40 minutes before closing and the second time was an hour and 20 minutes before closing. The store is not properly staffed. It should not take 3 days to make an appointment. With that kind of backlog they should hire more tech's or staff them during these peak times with waits longer than 80 minutes... read more

"Hello, I'm a Mac" and I love Brea Mall Apple Store :) Been using Apple computer since 1996, and not only their products are getting better but Apple's service is getting better and better over the years. Just got my new Macbook Pro at this store couple days ago. (Woohoo!) My previous laptop served me for past 7 years and still works great. Employees working here are very friendly. Well, I've only met four people so far. (Jennifer, Neil, Mike, Bridget) They all made me feel like I'm a VIP. Talking about VIP, I got my "One to One" membership. ($99 for 1 year, you can only purchase it at the time you buy a new computer) I made a reservation online yesterday for a personal tutorial of an application I wanted to learn (making reservation was really easy) And this morning at 8AM, even before any stores in the Brea Mall opened, I walked into the Apple Store for my personal lesson. Felt very special to walk in during none business hour, as if I'm the Steve Jobs checking out how employees are doing :P 8AM is none sales hour for Apple store, no one is shopping so very quiet. Early in the morning is a definitely the way to have a private lesson. The "One to One" workshop will provide you one to one tutorial from Apple Specialist on many useful applications on Mac. Today was my first day and they were really helpful, and since you have someone just to yourself, you can ask any questions "you" have instead of wasting time on someone else' interest. (Nice!) Best part is that I can pretty much reserve any days as much as I want to. (Only Apple offers a service like this!) I can totally see myself coming to Brea Mall every week or even every day just for this. Going to a shopping mall was never this exciting for me in my entire life, and kudos to Apple Brea Store. A Tip: Store can be very busy during the middle of the day, so if you want the best customer service come either 10AM or 8PM. They close early on weekends so 6PM for Saturday and 5PM for Sunday. The store itself is fine. The pack of utter morons they have now for service writers and "geniuses" have put me off coming back to this store. It is nothing but a hassle from the time I walk in, to the time I walk out. Update to add the last "person" I dealt with decided he wanted to square off with me in the middle of the store because he couldn't find my phone that had been there over an hour for a battery repair. When I pointed out he would be finding my phone and I wasn't leaving until they found my phone. He decided it was a good idea to square off with me and act as if he was going to play bouncer. Needless to say that lasted not much longer than a few seconds before he was scrounging around in the back trying to find it. Once he found it, he couldn't bring it out to me. Tough guy wasn't so tough and gave it to some poor woman without actually pointing me out, forcing her to shout out the name until I told her it was my phone. This is the kind of 'service' that has become all to common at this store. I've brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of business traffic into this store in the past five years. My last three experiences here will ensure that never happens again, and will ensure I don't bring any personal business there as well. Victoria Gardens Apple Store will be getting my business from now on! My iPhone 6 shut down at 5pm yesterday and wouldn't turn on at all. No apps were open at the time and the phone hadn't been used in about an hour. I left it charging on a legitimate Apple charger and tried 2 other Apple chargers on multiple wall outlets but nothing helped. I got to the Apple Store at 9:30 and waited for opening since I didn't have an appointment. I was "helped" by a tall white guy with a huge beard. My phone magically wanted to work again right when I was asked what was wrong with it. It was telling me to connect to a charger. How is it that the phone had no battery when it had been left on the charger for 18+ hours and had 40% battery when it went dark? I was told it was my charger that didn't work. All 3 of them? I charged my iPad with that same charger and had no problem. I know there's something wrong with my phone because it constantly shuts down and yesterday was the cherry on top. A blank phone, no power, no nothing for 18+ hours is normal? I think not. I came into this same Apple Store in May because my phone was shutting down. It turned out to be that the Yelp app had been contributing to that but when an employee scanned my phone, the software was having major issues so he erased the entire phone, including the software. Well here we are, 2 months later and the phone is still acting up. This guy today was extremely defensive and rude when I tried to explain what has been going on with the phone. He made it seem as if I was lying about the fact that my phone didn't want to turn on. He witnessed a ton of messages and notifications from yesterday appear on the screen so I obviously hadn't turned the phone on. He then said in a very rude tone "WELL WHAT DO YOU WANT US TO DO ABOUT IT" Excuse me? How about you fix it. Everyone knows iPhones aren't cheap so if we're paying a pretty penny for a phone, we expect it to work. I was not rude in any way or demanding a new phone or free products, I simply wanted my current iPhone to work properly. These issues are not from misuse as I take excellent care of my phone, it hasn't been dropped and has only been out of a case twice and those two times were when I brought it here for not working. This Apple Store should be more attentive to their customers and listen to what they're telling you has been happening when they take something in. Nobody likes to wait in line only to be told there's nothing wrong when you know there is and be treated with disrespect. read more

Where do I even begin....first off my husband I walked in looking confused since it was our first time visiting the Genius Bar and didn't know where to check in. There were 2 reps standing in the front..I assumed one of them would greet us, but I first said hello and the kid just gave me a half side smile so we continued on to the next rep. I was about 20 min early for my appointment which was an issue apparently so we stood off to the side. We sat down after checking in letting the rep (can't remember her name) asked what was going on ... my ipad wasn't turning on so she said she would reset it and see if it worked, if not she would have to wipe it. Now, she plugs in my iPad to the MacBook and leaves...both items with low battery. My iPad resets but still doesn't turn on. It was pretty busy but we would have to stretch our necks to get her attention. By this time my iPad dies and she sets us up to charge it and wipe it. After a while, my iPad turns on and since she was taking forever I set it up myself. We kept waiting for the rep to return to make sure everything was good, especially since I was still hooked up to the MacBook. Another rep was just standing around and I asked him if I could disconnect. He completely looked away and began talking to someone else. My husband then sees the initial rep walk out of the store with her stuff. I understand if her shift was up, however I would've appreciated a follow up or some acknowledgement from someone to see if we needed anything else. I just unplugged my iPad and left, but I will NEVER return to this trash hole again. read more

Bought an iPhone X a little over a year ago, the device stopped connecting to Verizon. I went to Verizon, they said it was apples issue, then went to an overly to this overly crowded apple store just to have them tell me I need to buy a new one!? I mean for a 1000 bucks shouldn't this thing last a bit longer?? The "tech" said that was the only option. I went back to Verizon and it was replaced buy a refurbished one which battery barely lasts the day!! After this ordeal I am really considering checking out Samsung. read more

Holy crap. I know this review won't even matter because people are going to shop here, regardless. However, the people who work here are insanely rude. My sister talked to one on the phone about picking up a phone we ordered, but she kept on talking OVER my sister while my sister was trying to ask a question. She was being so condescending to her. Finally, my sister asked "What is your name?" The girl responded, "Oh my name? You want my name? What's YOUR name?" WHAT THE HELL? My sister told her and then asked for her name again. The girl wouldn't tell her, so my sister asked to be transferred to the manager. My sister said that she has never been spoken to before like that. **EDIT: my mother drove all the way back to this store the next day with my dad after being told that she couldn't retrieve a Personal Pickup order without him, and was told that the 2 employees who didn't allow my mom to pick up the order without my dad the day before were WRONG and that she should've been able to since she's the main account holder for our mobile plan. This is ridiculous. Even the manager agreed! I knew already she should have been able to pick it up by herself but these employees kept insisting that she needed my father there since the order was charged with his card (which she brought with her), despite her never having any problems doing this in the past at other Apple stores. So the obnoxious and volatile woman who I spoke to at this Apple store over the phone, along with the two workers who told us my mom couldn't pick up our order, all seem to be poorly informed and unfit to "help" customers here. After speaking to 3 different representatives on the phone from 1800MYAPPLE and asking them about the situation for the pickup, I finally got the answers I was looking for. The shrew of a woman working at the brea mall Apple Store who answered the phone around 5:30 pm today (June 9, 2014) is honestly detrimental to this store's integrity and reputation. I don't really write reviews unless my experience is extraordinarily good or bad. I'm not a tech geek and I'm not easily amused by the latest device that comes out. My first time to an apple store and completely frustrated and degrading. First the frustration, I walk in they take my info and tell me they will send me a text in about 40 minutes to be seen. I finally get the text and I'm sent to the back of the store to wait AGAIN! How does that make any sense??? I have to wait to get into the waiting line? Continued frustration, how can there be over 30 Apple employees on the floor, some tending to customers, but others chatting amongst themselves and still have such a long wait? Next time you walk by an Apple store, take a look at the ratio of Apple employees in blue shirts in comparison to customers. Its really about 1 Apple employee for every 2 customers. How/why is it possible to have such long waits? Then the belittling part, within 10 seconds of being greeted I'm told to wait until I receive a text to see a "genius." I guess that makes me and all the people in the store "Non-geniuses?" It doesn't stop there, so once I'm called for my 2nd waiting session I'm told to go sit in the back by the big screen. Once I got there I noticed that all the people in that waiting area looked like a bunch kindergarteners sitting on wooden crates watching TV waiting for their parents to pick them up! Not only did I feel belittled but while I was waiting outside I noticed employees being graded in front of people walking by. What appeared to be a Manager (guy that looks like Where's Waldo) was bringing out employees 1 by 1 to conduct employee reviews?! How is this possible? Dont they have a back office where they can do this and keep some type of employee privacy? Too funny, I wish I would have taken a photo. I really don't understand how a company like Apple who is clearly an industry leader when it comes to technology hasn't redefined the entire experience for their customers. Visiting Apple is always a stressful experience for me because of the crowds, but today more so than usual. I had a simple request going into this store and what should have been a quick, stress-free trip turned into an unpleasant one because of the way I was treated by some of the staff. My Macbook is technically vintage - it's a 2008 model. The laptop itself works fine but my battery needed replacing, and since I'm a student and need a functioning laptop for most of my classes, it needed replacing urgently. Unlike newer models, replacing the battery on my 2008 Macbook is quick and so simple that my two-year-old niece could do it - there's a panel on the back that needs to be unlatched and removed, then you just take out the old battery and put in the new one. Like I said, I needed this battery replaced ASAP, if not immediately. However, the only available appointments weren't for another week. That's fine, I thought. It will only take a minute, I'll just purchase the new battery and be on my way. I knew I'd have to make a quick stop at the Genius Bar, but I didn't think it would be as much of an ordeal as it turned out to be. Especially considering that at least a third, if not half of the people in the store were employees, I figured someone would be able to help. The first employee I spoke to was unpleasant. I didn't catch her name, and anyway I'm sure she was just doing her job and would hate for her to receive backlash at work for simply doing what she was told. I just wish she could have done it a little more nicely. She asked if I had an appointment, and when I said I didn't, she informed me that they no longer had any walk-in appointments available. I let her know that all I needed was the battery - I didn't need them to replace it for me, I could just buy it and do it myself. She repeated the same thing, that they were no longer taking walk-ins, with a very "tough luck" kind of attitude. In other words, she didn't seem apologetic or understanding at all. On my way out, I asked another employee if she was sure there was nothing that could be done. This woman was friendlier, but basically told me the same thing, which was still entirely unhelpful. So I went outside the store and called around to different Apple Stores to see if they could accommodate me; I called stores up to 60 miles away, if that gives you an idea of how badly I needed this simple request fulfilled. By the time I got off the phone with these stores, who all told me they wouldn't be able to make time for me, I was stressed out and on the verge of a breakdown. I went back into the Brea store and gave it one last shot. I spoke to a guy named Joey and told him what I tried to tell the other two employees - that all I needed was a battery, and because my laptop is so old, it would literally only take a few minutes to put a new one in. I then explained that he was the third employee I was speaking to, and that neither of the other two had been particularly understanding of my situation. He immediately walked me over to a table along the side of the store and asked me to show him my laptop. Once he saw it and checked out the battery, he saw where I was coming from and agreed that it was a quick fix and shouldn't have been a big deal at all. They didn't have the battery in stock, so he ordered one for me and comped it for me. This was the only helpful interaction I had the whole hour or so I was in the store. If every Apple employee was a Joey, visiting the Apple Store would be a significantly less stressful experience for me. read more

The worst customer service i have ever had. You would think being apple to expect more. Nope. I have had nothing but problems. First time i went in they said the blockage in my charger port was my problem and i might as well drop it in water and pay the $80. Went to the att store to replace it and called apple to take off my apple care so i can put it back on when i replaced it. Apple was so dissapointed and they told me a replacement 64gb silver iphone 6 would be at the store for me. So i drive 30 minutes out of my way back to the brea mall apple store to get it replace. They replace it for me. I go back home to put all my stuff onto my now replaced iphone The DUMBF**Ks gave me a 16gb as a replace it. So now i am just livid Now that i realized that i have to drive back to This hell hole to get it repleaced again where i am sure it will help me none. Bottom line. Stay the hell away from the apple store at the brea mall. It is nothing but problems. I will be going to the apple store at south coast plaza for now on. Way to suck you guys. I FINALLY succumbed and became an iPhone user as of last week. My friend suggested we make an appointment to go buy our phones. I kind of thought it was absurd. Make an appointment to drop bills? I'd think a retailer would be clamoring to make sales but we made an appointment anyways. I usually don't like going in Apple stores because they're so crowded and caotic. All my Apple products were gifts, so I've never had to buy anything myself there. Anyway, the reason why I only rated 2 stars is because we bought two phones and the guy helping us didn't seem to know what he was doing. I kept having to re-enter my info over and over and over again because he wasn't processing it correctly. In the end, we went home with one phone working and one not. He said it's because it just needed to be charged. We get home and charge it and it still didn't work. My friend spends an hour on the phone with AT&T and they tried to help but to no end. They tell us to call Apple. Apple help-line is closed by then. The next day, I call Apple, they tell me to call AT&T. I call AT&T, they tell me to call Apple. Apple refuses to give me an appointment and tells me to call AT&T back. I call AT&T pissed off and they finally help me after all the back and forth. Turns out, the guy at the Apple store entered the wrong SIM card number to our account and that's why it wasn't working. So it was Apple's fault but they didn't want to help us. Damn, I hope it's not like this in the future if I have a problem with the phones. I have a feeling it will be. read more

Not sure why people rave so much about apple products. I have an iPhone 5s that I bought 3 1/2 months ago that has an issue with the battery. The store manager was kind enough to tell me that he didn't think that was the issue, very smug like. How is this guy a manager, he should be in the back fixing the product since he doesn't have P.R. Skills. You hide employees that make the business undesirable let alone allow them them to manage. After waiting 2 hours to be called, the employee said the battery is not good but does not fall under apples warranty. I had a terrible time at the Apple store... I spent 3 hours in the morning waiting for a battery change. After I got a text saying that my turn was finally up, I went to wait and that took another 30 minutes. Then I waited an hour for my phone's battery to get changed. After I got my phone back I found several problems like my Touch ID didn't work and the screen flickered. My screen protector was also gone. I ended up having to go back and waited an hour just for someone to help me. Overall this Apple store really sucked. read more

I'm a proud dad of an 6yr old iMac. My hard drive recently went kaput. Took it here for repairs. Then I was completely blown away by their generosity, information, service and helpfulness. Everyone in a blue shirt there deserves a hug. My iMac is back and it's all thanks to them. read more

It is very sad to see Apple careless about customer service. There is a phrase - spirit of the leader is spirit of the team. Apparently this location has no passion, dedication, loyalty, or customer service since management is careless as well. This is my third time at this location and the third time I get bad service. I'm a paying customer unlike others that are in the store playing with the products and not buying. Instead of providing great customer service the staff barely smiles, greets, or friendly. If you do not want my $500 I'm more than happy to get the note 4. Staff needs to learn sense of urgency and best in class customer service. I was so disappointed that I left without the iPhone 6 plus. Not a great roll out for this product. Keep disappointing people especially by your store staff and no matter how great your product is people will not return. read more

My Macbook air charger stopped working only 6 months after purchasing the computer. It was clearly still under Apple's warranty. I took it here, they were late taking my appointment, and the genius examining it insisted that because the charger was worn a certain way it was not covered under warranty. He also insisted that it was not the original charger the computer came with (it absolutely was) and said if I wanted a new one, I would have to buy it. He was rude and disinterested during this entire conversation. On my way out of the store, a kind woman stopped me and said that I should try another Apple store, that the same thing happened to her and they replaced it. Sure enough, I went to the Apple in Victoria Gardens and it was replaced quite enthusiastically with no questions asked. That being said, I know that in the past I have taken broken products in that I should clearly have to pay to get fixed, and the geniuses have just given me new ones. So it probably just depends on who you get at the genius bar! read more

The worst Apple Store in orange county. Employees are rude and aren't sensitive to customers concerns. On more than one occasion I was completely ignored and my most recent visit prompted me to write this review. I was speaking with an employee and while e were talking he turns around and walks towards another employee and ignores that I was there. Terrible terrible service!!! read more

I am UPDATING my previous negative review of the Brea Apple Store. In the past, this store has always done a great job, but this recent experience with our IPhones was a little bumpy!! But, after visiting the store today, and speaking with the manager, Bryan, ALL was taken care of in a professional, and much appreciated manner!!
