The place is decorated nicely, but very crowded. Even more crowded on special release of new items days (where you need to wait in line just to get in. The staff is somewhat helpful, got a new iMac here once, but they didn't help me much in setting it up and installing everything, they wanted me to do it (including asking me to install the software). There are lots of new gadgets and computers on display tables that you can look and play with. Free wifi too. Overall a mixed experience. read more

I went to the Apple Store at the Brea Mall this weekend because my iPad Mini bricked (shut down and would not turn on) after just three months. After waiting over 90 minutes for service, I was told this was my fault because I had plugged my iPad into my PC. I've searched online for some evidence of this and have found none but this was their excuse. Mind you, they were able to restore the iPad, but the fact that they took so long to help me and then blamed me for the problem warrants far less than the single star I'm giving them. This is the closest apple store to my house and I needed my iPhone fixed so I called to ask for a quote. They tell me that I needed to make an appointment and they weren't able to give me a price. I made an appointment like they instructed. I arrive on time and they tell me without touching the phone, "$150 for the repair or you can check if your eligible for an upgrade".... Wtf? so i drove 40 min one way for something they could of told me over the phone. Now Im here writing this review straight from an 21.5 inch iMac in the store. I like the cleanliness and appearance of the store. The retail layout is great as well. Service experiences with any carrier or through insurance are another story. As the case has been for those service providers putting out a front desk to address concerns and switch out equipment, services haven't been the best but how can the alternative legally be any better? Case in point Charter, Sprint, supposedly Verizon and Samsung, etc. Best bet if you can afford it is to have a back up line and a phone with keypad on your account that you can switch out to in a time of emergency. Keep sight of your local public pay phones. Couldn't find Asurion through a search on Yelp. A big thumbs down to that process as the experience was never as simple as it was advertised. There's not always another phone in your hand ready to go within 24 hours. Since there's not a separate page for the updates, I will say that the profile is like any other user profile that can fall into the hands of others for use at their discretion with the personnel not having to perform anything too invasive giving the wrong impression of top level security professionals. It isn't much different than the alarm company staff malfunctioning your system to cause invasive questions to interview while recording their information with audio equipment while not delivering the services, I.e. continuous breaches of contract. read more

This is the first bad review I have ever written.. I'm hoping it is the last.. My daughter cracked her screen pretty badly.. But her phone was not bent in anyway.. The technician who helped us was a masculine lady in her late 30s.. She was rude and all she could say was her phone was bent and would say we needed a new phone.. Luckily, we have a friend who works for Apple and told us he would fix it at his store.. I don't want to get my friend fired.. But if any of you guys come in for a cracked screen and they don't want to fix it, get a second opinion.. I'm never coming back here again.. Last week I walked into the Apple store with an appointment ready in hand, and on the way there was a car accident that made me 6 minutes late. I told them this story and they said because I was late they canceled my appointment. My friend later asked for me and told me there was a window of 10 minutes to be late, but despite this I was still denied service. Other times when I come in early for my appointment they make we wait more than 20 minutes, and this time when I had a legitimate that caused me to be 6 minutes late they refuse to fix my iPod. I thought Apple is about consumer satisfaction. Never going to shop here again. read more

Terrible service! Drive any where but to Brea. The wait in middle of week is unacceptable, they quote service times just to get your device and don't deliver on the time. Staff is less than apathetic when explaining what level of service desired. Oh, they will continually remind you how much everything cost. Almost in a way to get you to go before you commit. I originally wrote the following review after my new Apple TV remote stopped working a few days after buying it: Lame Apple TV remote just stops working! I bought it two months ago. I go out of my way to trouble shoot the stupid system to make sure it's just the remote so Apple could replace it. I drive all the way to Brea only to find this ridiculous store closes at 6pm on a Sunday HOLIDAY weekend. I am not pleased with the rude unapologetic tone of the buff Asian guy in a red shirt that turned me away. I am beginning to think I need to "Think Different" about buying Apple products. Service is EVERYTHING! Yelp later removed the review saying it wasn't a customer experience since I didn't get in the store. It had been weeks since I wrote it. I remembered that the next day after I wrote it however, I had called Apple Customer Service and the extremely professional representative resolved my issue with technical support within ten minutes. I was very happy and felt embarrassed about my comments towards Apple the company. I still think the Brea Apple Store failed me unnecessarily that evening. My boyfriend is trying to buy a computer this month, and has his heart set on the MacBook Pro. Now, he's the kind of guy that research excessively before a purchase like this; which is a good thing. Anyways, we get there expecting to be sold and informed. The store is like any other ARS you go to. Busy, clean. The low rating is per the request of my boyfriend. The associate that helped us had little knowledge about the product. Apple has certain design features that set it apart from other PCs and she had no clue. Perhaps it was the fact that I had a late appointment on a Sunday (since it was a last minute appointment) for the genius bar that had me waiting for more than 30 minutes after my initial appointment time to get helped. The apple geniuses were definitely pressured to finish the queue as soon as possible since there was much more customers after me that needed service. Each of them were mutli-tasking on multiple customers which really sacrificed the company's motto of service with their customers. I spent more time with my iPod and their computer than I did with the apple genius. That's a bit disappointing. Perhaps I'll never return to this location around that time. It only reminds me that I should only stick to the South Coast Plaza location; no matter how busy it gets, they always have a one on one with their customer. read more

Crowded. The stores on the weekends are just packed with people wanting to touch the devices. Recession? There is no mention or evidence there. Its easy to drop $50-, ouch! I've visited this store many times; new mac, fix old mac. Talk shop with the sales people, help out others pick out a mac ... hang out and play Lego StarWars ... man they've got everything there. Only problem the bathroom is all the way over at the Sears. I loose my spot on the iMac with Harry Potter game. The staff is friendly and patient. Went to the Brea Apple Store Genius Bar for an network issue with my iPhone 5. I had made an appointment earlier that day. My iPhone was having network issues. It would randomly drop all networks - no bars, no AT&T, no LTE - and require a reboot to get back online. I checked in with an employee with an iPad and was told to wait to the side and that someone would be with me shortly. After waiting a few short minutes, someone came over to help me. After being asked some basic questions and checking the SIM card, I also let him know that I had already tried a restore 2-3 times. He made note that there was no physical damage and then let me know that he would be swapping my iPhone with a replacement remanufactured unit. I was on my way in no less than 15min. This is probably the 4th or 5th time they've helped myself or family with a product issue over the years. I've always been satisfied with their service and professionalism. read more

These guys were extremely busy - in the midst of the iPhone 6 release - when I stopped by to exchange two gifts. The first guy I spoke to was unhelpful but his colleague Neil - who was helping a customer next to us - noticed his incompetency and kindly helped to expedite my order. He was a multi-tasking master! Neil was also very helpful in helping me to exchange a broken keyboard quickly -even though the store was absoloutely mobbed. I will venture to say that Apple will live and die by keeping folks like Neil employeed. His commitment to customer service, and his ability to serve not only me, but the other folks at the same time - while enduring his own frustration with the store's chaos was reassuring to a long-time Apple customer. I made a reservation for the Genius Bar and got Andy as a service person. He's incredibly nice and provides really good customer service. Tip: I dropped off my laptop for repair. It took about 3 days for them to have it repaired. I came in on a week night- I checked in and was told to wait by one of the Apple Tv's and that someone will be right with me. 25 minutes went by before they told me that my laptop is on its way out. Be prepared to wait at least a half hour just to pick up a repaired device. read more

This place is AMAZING. The people who work here are actual angels, and they not only fixed my computer, but restored my faith in humanity. The day before my EMT final, my computer broke. Wouldn't start, wouldn't load, nothing. I called apple tech support, who told me that I needed to take it in, but that there were no available appointments for two weeks, so I should just walk in. Apple Tech Support assured me that they had called the store, and that I would have an hour to an hour and a half wait, tops. I get there, and this guy named Alex tells me it's three to three and a half hour wait, very apologetically. I'm shocked, and explain the situation to him, at which point he says, "You know what man, I've been there. Let me talk to my manager." So he disappears for a minute or so, comes back and says "You know what man, just sit over there and we'll get you seen in 25-30 minutes." And they did. But, it gets better. My computer was kaput; the hard drive was dead, as well as the graphics card. Instead of making me buy a new computer though, the tech who's helping me, a nice dude named Ryan, connected a store computer to my old one, and let me drag and drop the files I needed onto a flash drive, so that I could study that day on a friend's computer. Wonderful people, wonderful store, I'll be going here every time I need something Apple related. Thanks again guys. read more

I came to this store on a Tuesday night right after work (around 6:30pm). It's a weekday and no big product launches were available so it shouldn't be packed or busy, right? Wrong! There were people lined up outside waiting for iPhone 6 and Plus models and inside the place was quite full. I counted at least 12-15 Apple employees. After browsing around I was approached by a cheerful bearded fellow who added me to the "waiting list." I felt so popular. A waiting list? Awesome! He said there were two ahead of me. I told him I already knew what I wanted, an iMac (which was going to cost close to $2,000), he said "awesome." 35 minutes later and no one had called me or approached me again for assistance. I went back to the same Manzana employee and asked what was up, he was surprised that no one had helped me (yet didn't find it odd I was still just chillin for the past half hour lol ). He later went to the front counter to get help...I waited...and waited...he vanished into thin Apple-store air. I asked someone else (another chipper bearded fellow) for help and he wanted to put me in another waiting list -_- After nearly an hour of waiting and getting no help I just walked out and flipped over one of their massive tables full of shiny MacBooks (Ok I actually didn't do that but it would have been perfect!) Pretty bad customer service experience. Apple didn't care this time. read more

This is the closest location to me, and it's always great coming in. All the staff are incredibly friendly, and always make an effort to have genuine conversation. On one particular occasion, a specialists partnered with a manager to create a great solution for my phone upgrade. Really awesome to see the team making such a great effort to help a customer. The new store is INCREDIBLE! The shelves and displays are like a museum, and beautifully crafted. Really awesome customer experience. Like most apple stores, it's pretty busy and crowded. Visited the store in Brea Mall on 7/10 and waited for 45 minutes to report a light leakage/bleeding in my new IPad. I got my first New IPad replaced here a month ago for the same light leakage problem. Current one had relatively small leakage, However I wanted to get it replaced as well. Attendant (Peter) at the apple store acknowledged that the light leakage is apparent, but told that the manager will decide whether or not to replace the new IPad. Genius Bar manager named Taj Mahal has a rude attitude. She straight away told that my IPad will not be replaced, since i have already replaced mine stating the same issue. Customer Service is a joke here. She is terribly unfit to handle the customers. How many ever times the same problem occurs, it's Apple's responsibility to provide a defect free product to the customers during the warranty period of one year. Its the apple's problem. Apple's quality control sucks. Why on earth I should left with a defective product for a whopping ~$660. She also told that the light leakage is an acceptable one and it still falls well within Apple's specification. Then why did they replace mine the first time ....? I also asked whatever she told me to give in writing by sending an email, which she denied. I left the store with disappointment. I lost credibility on apple products after noticing light leakage in multiple IPads and the bad customer service in Brea Mall Apple store. I checked most of the New Ipads kept on display and all of them are in good quality without any light leakage issues. Then why the defective products are given to customers. Shouldn't they recall the defective IPads?. It's a terrible experience with Apple. I will not buy apple products anymore. read more

This is for the Genius Bar My Macbook hard drive reached full capacity and made my computer freeze up, fortunately I was able to head out at the last moment without an appointment. (they close at 9pm weekdays, and I got there at 8:45pm) was able to speak to Evan who was able to remotely access my hard drive, which allowed me to delete some items which in turn allowed me to get back to doing some documents that I needed for the next morning. On an other occasion they were also able to swap out an iphone5 with water damage for another like model for around $230 which saved my wife a lot of hassle. read more

Bad service, unhelpful staff. I've been to this Apple store more than a couple times to buy products, ask questions, get things serviced, etc, etc. And there's so much to say, but its already been said by a lot of people. Point is that most of the "Geniuses" I've encountered aren't very helpful/enthusiastic when you have questions for them or when buying your already pricey product. They don't seem to care or know about the things they should. My macbook was left in the backroom "unprocessed" for over a week while I was computer-less and no one seemed to care enough to process it for me. When buying my macbook, the Genius helping me out seemed uninterested in my question despite the fact that I was dropping a grand at his store. He probably earned commission too? God -_- And when going in to buy Parallels, the Geniuses I talked to didn't have the full info on the programs they were selling. All in all, I've been to better Apple Stores. BUYERS BEWARE!! This store sells phone with missing parts to their costumers!! I purchased a "new phone" from them in October 2015, and after two months the camera did not work. When I came to the store to get it fixed, as it was still under warranty, the store attendants informed me, to my dismay, they could not do anything because the phone had missing parts. Again, the warranty is still valid, and I certainly do not need to bring my phone some place else to repair it and for a fee. They are tricking and stealing from costumers. What a waste of time. Came in with three devices (one of which they said they no longer support, and another they advised would be $80.00 to replace a battery) before they put me on a list for an appointment. That was after attempting to make an appointment by phone. If the person on the phone had only asked more questions I would have known that going in. After they finally got to me I was told by the tech that they no longer support the third device (a nano). 19.2 miles each way and over 1 1/2 hours wasted waiting. read more
