Genius Bar, not so genius, imagine that! My new iPad needed to be repaired, my fault. Made an appointment, went to Apple Store Boca Raton. Result of appointment is that a new iPad would be sent to me and then i would return the damaged device after receiving it. After 4 days of not getting updates, shipping info, etc. i called customer support. Turns out that the genii told me one thing, did another and now it will take another week to get this fixed. One star for service, three stars because they were so nice. read more

Terrible customer service, I asked Natalia who was my rep at 6:30 pm eat 12/22 and needed her help to try to purchase the phones through my business account which I have done all the other years, and even after I have purchased I was able to transfer. She was acting sarcastic, and said unfortunately I can't do that. Apple just lost a customer for life! We drove 40 mins to come to this store to pick up a new iPhone. The reason we drove all the way up here was to have help with setting up the new phone. If we had to set it up on our own wouldn't we have just had it delivered to our home? The first gentleman that helped us was pleasant but clueless. We were switched to another guy and he helped set some of the stuff up on the device, then had us go to another table to wait while things finished installing on the new phone. We were here about 75 minutes total at this point. The cellular service on the new phone did not work. So the kid helping us (the third employee) told us we would have to go home and call the provider and have them remotely activate this and finish setting up the phone. I left the store at this point pretty irritated. I had just spent $1,000 on this phone and with tax it was more like $1,100. All this $ and they can't even help me properly activate the phone? Why would we want to take this phone home with us after THREE different apple employees could not help us set it up properly? What confidence would we have that we as layman could get it to work? We didn't want to have to drive home and drive all the way back here again if we couldn't figure it out at home. I went back in and asked the girl at the front for the managers name, she copped an attitude with me right away. She curtly told me how my phone issue was out of the stores hands. My husband watched this disrespectful individual go back to talk to someone, while pointing at me and motioning with her hands that I was crazy. You know, making the crazy symbol with her hand next to her head. So that didn't help the situation and only made it worse. I'd describe her as in her 20's to early 30's with long dark brown hair and caucasian (or possibly latina). Regardless, with her nasty demeanor, she is NOT the person you want as the front face of your business. She has horrible customer service skills and shouldn't be dealing with the general public. My husband later commented how he found her to be rude when we walked into the store initially that evening. At this point I decided to just return the phone and I'll likely be buying one from Samsung. I did talk to a manager. She was not rude, but did not offer any solution to remedy the situation or help in anyway. Nothing like "let me have a rep here help you make the phone call to your cell provider and get you set up" or anything like that. She had zero interest in being helpful or making any of this better. We expected that we would receive at least the level of service provided by a cable technician for a $10/mo modem--they never have left without us being properly connected to the product they were supplying us with. Apple stores are typically a disaster. This one is no different. Add to that all the special procedures they have added due to covid and it's almost worthless. My laptop looked like it was about to blow up. The battery was getting so swollen the case was coming apart. I had to make an appointment online to bring it here but it seemed to not show me any of the available dates/times until the next day. Very weird and not user friendly system. I finally come here and you have to still wait around for your turn. No issues with staff, they were nice enough, however they basically told me my expensive laptop needed a new battery and I would have to pay $200 and be without a laptop for several days. I was also told that while the battery was bad, there was no danger of it exploding, even though it was so large it was breaking open the case. Since I had already had the battery replaced maybe 1-2 years ago and was already having the SAME problem again I decided not to pay $200 for another crappy battery I would have to replace in another 1-2 years. Since they told me there was no danger I will continue to use it since I don't need battery power as I'm plugged in 99% of the time. Sunday Aug 06.23. drove 20 min. to Apple Store in Boca mall to purchase iPhone 14. Had all the details ready as to type, color, memory. Walked in to the store at 5.49PM to have service refused by the guy logging in customers, since they planing to close at 6PM. Asked for a manager and girl next to us Viki (if I got her name correctly) got involved. I've briefly explained, I'm looking to quickly purchase iPhon 14. She told me there are closing in 10min and can't provide a service. I tried to make a point it will be a quick purchase since I'm ready with all the details. Someone just needs to bring it from the back and charge me for it and I don't mind waiting but didn't make any difference. We often question ourselves asking "was it me"? I couldn't believe my ears. Came in with my gf to pick up her phone that was being repaired. After 2 previous visits when they told us the phone would be avaialable, the phone was finally ready. The technician broke the phone in the process and a new phone was provided instead. The salesperson was not able to set up her phone, didn't replace the screen protector, charged her for the repair, and offered no help or consolation. He told us we had to go the Verizon kiosk (had a worse experience here) and sent us on our way. They kept the old phone as well. All around awful experience. read more

I got to the Boca Raton Town center at 9:00 before they officially open which is at 10:00am and proceeded to wait in line at the Apple store to pick up a new iPhone 11 pro for my nephew for his birthday. Apparently today was the release day for the new iPhone and the wait in line was over 3 hours to get to the front. Better to wait in this line than a Apple Store line in NYC, those you have to camp overnight. That being said they had plenty of stock when I got to the front of the line and I managed to pick up a new phone for my nephew. It seems that many people love to hate Apple products and live to hate the Apple Store experience. I'm not one of them. Yes, this store has a frenetic pace to it. Yes, it is often noisy to the point of not being able to hear what you're thinking let alone speaking. Yes, often the sales associates service multiple people concurrently. And yes, it's often crowded and yup, there are very few stools for an old guy like myself to sit on while engaged with a product. But it also has many well informed associates, (thanks Farhasome more so than others, and managers who float around and resolve issues and questions on product set-ups that stump some of the associates. I have found the staff to be helpful, pleasantly geeky, diverse, and most importantly, patient. I've got no issue shopping here, and acquired two iPhoneX yesterday and had a positive experience. It attracts many of the same people who frequent the mall, which means very young children who seem to know way too much about their products, teenagers, FAU types, genX, Y, Z, senior citizens, and Boca people with dogs in strollers, or as I saw yesterday, one man holding his dog in his hand as he tried to master the use of an iPad. And don't be surprised if you observe someone counting out a $3000 purchase with ten, twenty and five dollar bills. It's Boca. read more

My mom and I went last Monday to the apple store to get a diagnostic on her phone since it was flashing off and on. The worker from the genius bar had informed us that they were going to order a new phone?, which was on warranty, since the logic board was bad and cannot be replaced. Delivery was said to be around 2-3 days, but after 3 days passing by, neither my mom or I recieved any correspondence from the apple store. I called up to follow up what the status was, and they then tell us that they are ordering the new part (what?!). On top of that, we got disconnected 3 times by apple support. So afterwards, we decided it be a good idea to go back to the apple store and utilize our upgrade promotion with ATT and purchase a new iPhone 11 for $10 a month (instead of waiting another week for updates). When at the store, the person working there was stubborn about providing us with the promotion, even though we had it clearly presented from our ATT page. In addition, we had already clarified with the ATT store before hand, so we didn't make this up. In addition, the employee claimed that we needed a new charging port for the phone - which is not true - so watch out for that. Moreover, I found the icing on the cake, was when the store employee had dropped my moms phone and almost cracked it. I have mixed feelings about this store located in the Boca Town Center Mall. Right now they're closed until further notice, because of the pandemic. They're supposed to reopen at some future time. I've been to this store several times. Sometimes it's because I need help with my laptop or my iPhone. Usually I'm told that I'm better off to buy a new one. Probably true, but I'd like someone to tell me what the problem is. Sometimes I get someone who's helpful. The store is usually crowded, especially on weekends. If you don't have an appointment you'll probably have come back. I do like that I can try out new Apple products as soon as they come out. When I got my new iPhone I tried out several models before deciding on which one to buy. They used to have early morning classes run by someone on their team. The classes were free and it was great to learn how to use some of their products. I don't know if classes will resume when they reopen. I stopped last Saturday 11/28/20 and bought a phone. I had to bring back my now old phone back as part of the deal. I was told that I could come in and just bring the phone without an appointment and get the hold off my CC So I showed Monday 11-30-2020 with my old phone and the store was almost empty. There was a lady (manager) outside asking for appointments. I told her was I was told on Saturday and she refused to let me in without one. I explained what I was told when I bought the phone and she still refused to let me In. I said that the store was almost empty with some employees just killing some time without helping any client. She told me that I could wait by the door until she "cleared" someone to help us. We waited for about 45 more minutes, and she just kept looking the other way. The Apple Store is the exact definition of a Madhouse. The inmates are running the asylum. You bring in your phone to be repaired, and there are literally hundreds of people (okay maybe a total of a hundred) everywhere on the shop floor, wandering around looking for assistance. If you are lucky, a staff member will notice you looking lost and after hearing your sob story, will direct you to a line where you will undoubtedly be jerked around by the next level of semi-helpful staff members. It appears to me that the goal of the staff is to dispense with you as quickly as possible. If this means fixing your problem, lucky you! But if your problem requires some extensive work to get your phone or other Apple device fixed, you will be given a phone appointment and told to go home and wait and maybe they will call you. They don't say maybe, but sometimes they call and sometimes they don't. It is an extreme rarity if the staff solves your problem adequately on the spot. The staff members vary greatly on their level of their expertise. Some are very well trained and are computer geniuses. Others don't know anything more than I do, which is not much. Sometimes I think that you are better off bringing your problem device to a "Fixology" type of place. (I think Fixology is out of business). I suspect that the main goal of the Apple Store is to herd the crowds out as quickly as possible, by putting a Bandaid on your problem. Good Luck on your trip to the Apple store. You just may find an aforementioned computer genius staff member who is capable of repairing your device quickly and efficiently or you may be jerked around and sent home. read more

So, as I say, I have been to a few. The Boca mall Apple store is probably one of the best in South Florida. It's a little bigger than most, is near the entrance which is nice, it has quick and pleasant customer service, and wow, that TV. But more on that later. I stopped in the other day as my screen had been acting up for a while and my phone wasn't charge part f the time. I had made an appt and arrived. I was being helped before my appt time even came up. She immediately deduced my charging port had lint etc in it and was preventing a good charge. instead of pushing for a new phone, or anything billable, she tried to just clean it. But once we realized the screen was un-save-able and the battery life had a good dent in it, we decided to just get a new one. I got a older model with max memory for just a few dollars. While I waited for her return with the new one, I admired that TV. It's not just any TV, it covers the ENTIRE back wall. It's crystal clear amplified the crazy images they were putting up. When she came back I had to ask: "How much did that thing cost, you don't know would you?" "It was 10 million dollars." I was blown away. She explained its the only one of its kind, that no other store got it. I walked out with my new phone. I knew I would be back though. She said they put on free classes there on the monitor. They will check you in 5-10 minutes earlier than your appointment and someone will come and get you when they are ready. My phone was unsalvageable :( but I was able to get an out of warranty replacement for less than half the price of a new iPhone 8. The customer service here is always on point and I have yet to have an issue. The only downside is that it is literally always busy and sometimes you might be searching for an employee to flag down so you can check in. read more

Telephone support made an in store appointment for my Apple Watch battery which is consistently lasting approximately eight hours. I went to the store and worked with a very reasonable Technical support assistant named David. He ran a diagnostic which showed that my battery has been lasting approximately eight hours consistently. Despite this the diagnostics for the battery "passed" at 81%. Because the diagnostics passed, the $79 battery replacement was not available and rather was quoted at $380. David then went to speak with a manager. Mr. Vega, the manager, was unwilling to offer the battery replacement at $79. In fact he went so far as to tell me that my watch because the diagnostics past was working appropriately. Despite this, he also agreed that the battery should be lasting for more than eight hours daily. Rather inconsistent in his messaging. In summary, David was quite helpful and the manager, Mr. Vega was completely unreasonable and unwilling to really listen. So last week we go to AT&T where my IPhone was originally purchased and inquired about a new battery as my phone is constantly dead. Tito tells me go to Apple and batteries are $29. for the rest of 2018. This past Friday I went to the Apple location in Aventura Mall. No bueno lines just to ask a question they tell me to go on a line to make an appointment. So instead I go home log on and the first available appointment in South Florida is 4:30 on a Saturday. So I drive the next day to Boca Town center. Ask where it is located at the information desk and directed to the Apple Store,it is inbetween Neiman Marcus and Macy's. Once there you check in and are seated at a table with alot of other waiting people. This is not before you are schooled that no you can't have two devises on one appointment. See the day before at home when I made the appointment I put in my notes that I want my IPad checked too. I am now told I should have made a seperate appointment. I said are you kidding me when I make a doctor's Appointment they don't have me parse out each ailments. Ok so 15 minutes later someone finds me and moves me to another table. The phone indeed needs a new battery, the good news it is free, the bad news you need to wait another two hours for this to be done. No you can't make this shit up. Since I came alone drinking alone would be too depressing so I chose to shop. The Apple person pitied me and checked my IPad out. No new battery needed thankfully just needed some settings adjusted that were draining the battery. So two hours later I return to wait at another table that I was instructed previously to go to. You need to show your ID and ticket. After another 15-20 minute wait I get my phone back. Thankfully with all my information but a low battery that I charge on my way back home. Three stars is being too kind more like two and a half. read more

Despite a couple of requests, everyone seemed to be busy on something else, even if it was not helping a customer. I'm a big Apple fan. But I know they are not inexpensive. And I wanted to look at the Apple Watch. When someone comes ready to possibly spend real money on a product, you would think that there would be a better effort to deliver some good customer service. I don't want change in this category, since I don't want to learn how to use other competing brands. Apple Store has always been a prominent part of Boca Town Center Mall. They moved to a bigger location within the mall across from V.S. a few years back. The employees at this location are nice but without a appointment your screwed. Make a appointment no matter what, when your trying to get your phone, computer etc to be fixed. They are always busy, yet they do a great job trying to finish a transaction if your in a hurry. They offer free classes when you buy a computer/iPad etc, this a great option when your giving parents a technology related present. I remember my mom taking advantage of this when she got her first iPad. Overall, I like this location compared to The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale, which is smaller and more chaotic.~ read more

Another review of GOOD versus EVIL For everything I find to be positive here, there always something negative. One of my various visits had to do with my MacBook Pro not working. Like every visit here, you'd think they were handing out free money and candy (packed to the rim, mostly with kids just playing on the computers and iPads on display). I fought my way to the back of the store to the Genius Bar (where repairs and customer service is done), only to be sent back to the front to give my name for a spot in line. Most people have appointments set; personally I never bother; you wait the same amount of time either way, so why bother. Standing around for the next claustrophobic hour, I am beyond annoyed and bored. Finally I'm called and the Genius Bar geeks (compliment) are impressive. They analyze the problem in minutes; "crashed hard drive". I am informed I am out of warranty by two months (seriously?). I am sent home to pick up a portable hard drive (so they can rescue some of my files since I hadn't backed up in over month) and unlike Best Buy and other big retailers, they are not charging me anything to save my data. I return with my portable hard drive and told to sign in again (WHAT?), I was already here and I have to wait another claustrophobic hour. Luckily this time was only 20 minutes and even better news, they inform me they are not charging for the replacement hard drive (since I have so many purchases and no warranty claims ever. They inform me they are very backed up and the hard drive installation will be done in the next 10 days (WHAT?). It's a 10 minute fix but I have to be without my computer for 10 days (ridiculous). Once again I am pleasantly surprised when I get a call the next morning that my computer is done. GOOD: customer service, fast repairs, store layout, products BAD: crowds, prices, crowds, prices, crowds, prices If you MUST visit, then come on weekdays as early as possible. Once 2 pm rolls around you have college kids roaming the store and another hour later it's completely filled with high schoolers. And don't even think about weekends. read more

My phone just died! Out of nowhere it decided to turn off and stay at that apple icon screen which, to me, compares to what computer people call the "blue screen of death" on PCs. You see, here's the problem, they don't really let us use social sites or music sites at work so I am "literally" cut off from the outside world which is torture for anyone. So without my phone I had no texts (meaning no friends keeping me entertained on slow afternoons at work), no music (to help me keep awake through the routine part of my job), no Yelp (to check-in places or see the location), no FB, no Instagram, no calls... Agh! Ok, not freaking out... I broke the law a bit and went online at work (just don't tell anyone!!). :p Anyway, about the Apple store... Of course I rushed here as soon as I got off work. Of course I had no appointment because really, how could I foresee that my phone would just suddenly stop working. The store was super busy, all appointment slots were full, plus they were getting ready for the 5s release today, still they all worked to get someone to help me in less than 15 minutes after I got there. (Yes, there is always one that just won't go out of the schedule and made it pretty clear he was not willing to help and this is why I still would not give them the full five stars). In an hour my phone was back to life, with the new software update installed and they let me charge it there while they made sure everything was working properly before I left. Nick, the guy who ended up helping me at the end, was very professional, helpful and very caring of each of the issues we all were having with our apple devices. To him, and the rest who made a point to get me out of there with my working phone, I say thank you. I am very happy to be back in communication with the outside world! read more

I love Apple. I've got a Mac Book Pro,Apple TV, an iPad, and have an iPhone since the 3rd Generation. I think I'm pretty loyal, but this store was terrible. It wasn't terrible because it didn't have what I needed or was too crowded or I couldn't get a Genius bar appointment. It was terrible because absolutely no one would help us when I was there. I felt like I was playing a game of tag. Heading in someone's direction and them seemingly running away from me. Literally four associates standing in our radius looking at the item we wanted to buy and no one bothered to ask the age old question, "my I help you?" You can only wait so long somewhere before ultimately you either leave or try to steal the display model so we chose the high road and left, but c'mon. Was it because I wasn't buying a big ticket item? Regardless, a sale is a sale, but I know I will never go back to this location again. read more

This Apple Store is very disappointing. I booked the earliest appointment online which was 4 days away. I got to the Apple Store in the boca mall and they told me I was twenty minutes away and I should go walk around until they could seat me. I heard 3 of the Apple employees having a conversation pertaining to drugs which is very disturbing. As a multi billion dollar enterprise you really expect a lot more especially when you can get a screen repair right outside of the store for half of the price. Also, the workers in the store are very rude. I confronted three of them about the situation I was in and the problems I was having. It seems even the managers in this store can't get a grip. I understand that these stores are very busy but customer service should always be their first priority. When you pay $600+ for a telephone which competitors are matching for about $250 you always expect the best. Seems like all this company is worried about in this day and age is coming out with a telephone every 3 months for these rich snobby boca clients to jump all over. Don't even bother coming to this location. In face I'm even considering getting a different brand phone after this experience. I'm sure this is exactly what Steve Jobs was hoping to create.
