Highly recommend Appalachia Kitchen. Everything we ordered was outstanding and the staff could not have been sweeter. Definitely a great meal after hitting the slopes. Ambiance was warm and cozy.

Me and MAD squatch!

So mad! 14 anniversary I got online made a reservation got approved. Got text messages regarding reservation called someone up at THE RESTAURANT !!!!because their website said very limited parking so I called the restaurant... restaurant LADY told me yes to use the shuttle blah blah blah. I said OK I'm coming here tonight at 5:30 for my reservation. I show up at 5 o'clock. Doors are locked. I walked all the way around the restaurant with my wife trying to get in ...went into the bar above they said oh there's a wedding tonight. The place is booked and closed so after making a reservation, confirming the reservation getting text about the reservation and getting to the restaurant closed For my 14th anniversary dinner.. to make matters worse. I ran into the executive chef. He said they are not taking reservations tonight. There is a wedding party. I said I already have a reservation from two days ago. Why was I allowed to make a reservation when the place is booked up for a wedding, he said oh sorry. Yeah, great thanks for nothing. This is apparently the nicest restaurant around a 50 mile radius. Everything else is a bar or a pub or mom and pop joint. Drove all the way back to Marlington to the Greenbrier Grill, which had 30 Amish people in ahead of us for dinner so thanks for nothing.! You suck.! And don't even mention 10 Prime restaurant. thought I might go down there for that extremely overpriced restaurant they showed being open, but of course they're closed too for the season! Snowshoe sucks all the way around!

We had amazing service here! Reuben was our server and he was awesome. The food was super tasty as well, and the vibe of the restaurant overall was great. Water never once went empty and we were taken care of.

Farm to table at its best! Local ingredients and incredible tastes. All sauces and dressings made in house. Fine dining with a view of the slopes. The best food on the mountain!

Very nice place to check out after being on the slopes. I'd recommend changing out of your ski clothes before entering, since this is a nicer establishment. However, we did ask staff about dress code and were told they are very welcoming and understanding! The staff were all friendly and helpful. We didn't order any drinks, but they seem to have a nice array of options. Complimentary bread is provided, which is delicious. We started with the short rib appetizer, and I'd definitely recommend getting it! This was our favorite bite of food we had here. I got the crab cakes for my entree and my husband got the filet. We liked both but wouldn't say they were the best we have had. Overall, nice ambiance with kind people and good food. We'd recommend.

Filet mignon with asparagus and fingerling potatoes

Excellent food and great ambiance. We came here during a winter weekend! The service was top notch and servers on point. We started with the charcuterie board. The tastes of each food blended well. I believe the portions needed to be a bit bigger or cut in more pieces to allow for easier sharing. I ordered the filet mignon (surprise surprise) with a glass of their Tilia malbec. It went together perfectly. The asparagus was cooked well and crisp. I am not a fan of limp and soggy asparagus. Steak always goes well with fingerling potatoes which were tasty. Everything cooked as I ordered it. Friend of mine ordered the venison meatloaf which seemed like a good idea at the time, but lacked some flavor and was slightly dry. Venison is not easy to make so I can't count it against them too much. Either way a great experience with good food. I highly recommend making reservations weeks in advance to get the time and day you want to eat. It is one of the few sit-down restaurants at Snowshoe that has good reviews. We will be back again!

Tomahawk steak for two, corn brûlée, and potatoes.

This is our second year coming up to snowshoe for skiing/snowboarding. Adena recommended this place to us last year and it was amazing! Great atmosphere, food, and service! We came back this year and decided to get the tomahawk steak for two and it did not disappoint! The corn brûlée was amazing, the steak cook to perfect temp, and we finished it off with the apple upside down cake for dessert! So good! We will always come back! Thanks guys!

Enjoying the carrot cake

Had reservations and was quickly seated. Host explained the specials of the day but were out of the "main" appetizer and elk. Short rib croquettes were delicious. We ordered Steak to medium temperature, but arrived medium well, almost done. Did not complain because the crust and reduction had an amazing flavor. We requested bread and we're told that they were also out of bread. We had the carrot cake for dessert which is a very generous portion. I haven't had one this good in a long time, was told it's made from scratch and a family recipe.

Wow!!! Had dinner for Valentine's Day. It was delicious. I had the osso bucco. Husband had the maple glazed pork chops. Lobster bisque was amazing. Our server was so sweet and kind. It was packed!! Expected that. Restaurant is very nice. You could see the snowmakers grooming.

One of the best filet mignon I ever had if not the best! Ambiance was that of a Hotel Conference. Disappointing but food was great.

My wife and I were driving to North Carolina and wanted a halfway stop, so we chose Staunton,…read moreVirginia based on a restaurant for dinner. Zynodoa was our choice. Good call! We stopped in Thursday February 5, 2026. The cozy space, complete with a locally painted on the wall, gives it a warm, welcoming feel. In speaking with the matrade we learned the name of the restaurant comes from the Native American word that has become Shenandoah. After 20 years in business it's clear this place has deep local roots. The staff was friendly and attentive. Kyle, our waiter, did a great job and worked seamlessly with his teammates to make the experience memorable. We started with cocktails -- my wife had the Sage Advice and I had a classic Manhattan. Proper cocktails for sure! The crème brûléed cornbread and sweet potato bisque were standout starters. Probably could have stopped eating after those starters...For mains, my wife loved the pork loin and I enjoyed the pan-seared trout. We finished with the banana mousse, which was absolutely amazing! Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Highly recommend if you're passing through Staunton. definitely worth the stop.

It's a small restaurant so probably why they book up fast but it's nice inside. The bar is nice too. Staff were friendly. We did the crème brûlée cornbread for starters and then I got the ribs which were amazing. They came with fried rice which was good too. My friend got the beet salad, scallops, brussel sprouts, and spaghetti dish. All was delicious as well.
