I would love to specially thank my physical therapist HOPE and the rest of the staff I've worked with or that have worked with me in getting myself back to feeling good and better about myself and pushing me to do the work when i first came and had back problems they showed me ways to fix it and strengthen my back and let me tell you the stretches and exercises I've been doing really helped drastically i couldn't bend over and touch my toes or the floor and now i can happily say i can and i was really shocked but soo proud of myself being it have been years that i couldn't do that and i thought it was permanent and i started doubting myself but going to spine & sport and the staff gave me confidence that i can do it. My advice to people who are in need of help physically and don't no what to do or where to start i highly recommend going to physical therapy and go to spine & sport you'll thank me later

I had just experienced another flareup and was feeling desperate. They were able to get me in to see Dr. Shane quickly, and when I tell you that I felt like I was with a miracle worker. We went through several motions during the intro session, and he was able to diagnosis my issue (piriformis syndrome and tight hips). He performed cupping and massage, and he was able to loosen up my stubborn hips. He then had me perform some PT exercises, and I IMMEDIATELY felt relief. I honestly couldn't believe it. I thought the relief would go away after a few hours, but it stayed for a few days. I've worked him for about 6 sessions now, and I've felt drastic improvements. He tailors the training session to my problem areas, and he doesn't increase my load too quickly, to make sure I don't reinjure myself (which had been happening before). It's a bit pricy, but it's honestly been a lifesaver for me. Would recommend to anyone!

On 9/9/2024 I was injured during a massage at Sports Performance Physical Therapy in Chula Vista…read more The LMT had her elbow in the intercostal space of my left anterior chest when I suddenly felt an incredible amount of sharp, stabbing pain. I cried out and requested that she remove her elbow from my chest. The pain in my left chest was excruciating. I was unable to use my left arm without experiencing an enormous amount of pain. Even breathing was painful. Coughing and sneezing were unbearable. When I woke up the next morning, the pain was severe. Based on my symptoms, I was afraid I had a rib fracture. I contacted Cristianah Comaduran, Operations Manager of Sports Performance to notify her of the injury. She spoke with the LMT, who verified what happened. We stayed in contact over the next several weeks. I informed her that I would be filing a claim with their liability insurance and would contact her once I was completely asymptomatic. For the next two weeks, the pain was severe. I was unable to work, do household chores, and help my 4 year son with the things he needed, like getting dressed, bathing, basic ADLs. I filed a short term disability claim through my employer (I'm an ICU nurse). The stipulation for payment is that the first two weeks are unpaid, and then 60% of earnings are paid. This was a great financial burden for my family. The consequences of this injury were costly with low income for the months of October and November. My pain continued to improve until I caught an upper respiratory infection (URI) that caused continuous coughing. The pain was back and it was severe. Each cough and sneeze was excruciating. Once the URI resolved, my pain improved. For two months, the pain and suffering was debilitating, not allowing me to work, exercise, take care of the household, and most importantly, my son. It caused sleepless nights because the pain medication I was prescribed did little to relieve my symptoms, which lead to chronic exhaustion. The findings of my MRI on 11/14/24, which was two months after the injury, showed asymmetric edema at the level of the left third sternocostal joint. Two months after the injury, I still had abnormal results which were consistent with my symptoms. My thoracic spine MRI from 2022 showed none of these injuries. My PCP's impression was that there was a sprain of costal cartilage subsequent encounter. He determined it was costal-sternal joint strain vs developing costochrondritis. Along with pain and suffering, I experienced anxiety and distress due to financial strain. The injury resulted in thousands of dollars of missed wages. In addition, I was unable to accrue paid time off and contribute to my pension and retirement fund. This set me back two months from being vested at work. When I returned to work, I had very little sick or vacation time due to the inability to accrue paid time off (PTO). In January of 2025, I called out sick for 3 shifts (36 hours) when I was sick with the flu. I did not have enough sick time to cover the hours missed. I also received a double occurrence for my absence, which was not cleared from my record until January of 2026. It was worrisome that despite returning to work, the effects of this injury continued to be a financial burden and was affecting my performance review at work. This incident has also resulted in out of pocket costs, such as co-pays and pharmaceuticals, not to mention I was never reimbursed for the massage that started it all!! Perhaps worse than everything, I had to borrow money from my parents, so there's an element of shame in addition to the pain, suffering, and distress. This injury has been costly in terms of lost wages/PTO accrual and out of pocket expenses, not to mention inability to contribute to retirement and inch closer to being vested at my place of employment. I submitted an incredible amount of documents to Sports Performance in attempt to file a claim against their liability insurance. They were extremely difficult to work with and despite my repeated efforts to present all documents they requested, my claim was denied. Total cost for lost wages and out of pocket costs: $20,224.09. Because of this massage, I experienced pain, suffering, chronic exhaustion due to insomnia, anxiety, distress, and shame...and I didn't even get a fucking apology.

The therapist's were very nice people but the types of exercises/stretches they had me doing in this very small room did not seem to be addressing my issue that I was being seen for. The room is so small that you trip over each other if there is more than one patient besides yourself and there is almost no equipment in the room. Evidently they run three businesses with one central office and the physical therapy for adults is conducted in this little room which seems like it was an afterthought just a way to make more money because they had a spare room. After a few visits I went searching for a different PT facility in person and am very happy with the Therapist and facility that I chose.

Thank you for calling OT Etc (PT in Motion/Excel Speech)" I said "Hello, How are you today? What's your name" and the lady on the other replied with "How can I help you?" I asked again, "What's your name?" and this lady did not want to give me her name and gave me a big irritated sigh and said "How can I help you." So I hung up. First impressions are everything, and if you're front office is giving off that kind of attitude, it makes a big reflection on the rest of the company.

She stayed in an acute care hospital for one week and was transferred to Paradise Valley Manor and Health Care Center in National City, CA, to get her strength back before she was able to go home and be independent once again. Upon arrival, we marveled at how neat, clean, and beautifully appointed the facility was inside. The two ladies at the front desk, Sandra and Karina, couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. The various staff members greeted my precious Mama with smiles and compassion and were all so very kind. The Administrator, Aaron Burrup, came in and introduced himself. He shook her hand and made her feel right at home. Amanda, from Admissions, made sure she was comfortable in her room. Her Charge Nurses, Megan, Judy, Edwin, Marisol, and Mila were very helpful and accommodating and worked with us as we shared our concerns. Faye, Karina, and Utzhi, her attentive medication nurses, made certain they continued her regular medicinal regime and if she had a special need, immediately got Doctors orders to help her with whatever arose. Her CNA's were outstanding. Esmer, Cita, Vilma, Cynthia, and Edwina treated my sweet Mom with the same love and compassion they would treat their own Mothers. They would greet her with cheerful smiles and warm hellos many times every day. They sang to her, helped her with her daily personal needs, tenderly helped her shower, neatened her room, and made her laugh. How important these things are when you are yearning to be home to be with your family. They truly become a lifeline. The housekeepers were amazing at keeping everything neat and clean. I never smelled urine or any other unpleasant odors the entire time my Mom was a patient in this facility. Her Physical Therapist, Rayne, was extraordinary. Whereas upon arrival, my Mom was so weak and dreaded therapy, Rayne encouraged her and cheered her on as she worked hard and built up her strength. He gave her the support and fortification she needed and taught her skills she will use the rest of her life. Her Occupational Therapist, Lauren, was so patient and thoughtful as she shared her expertise with my Mom so she could eventually go home and live independently again. These two Therapists infused their strength into my Mom and are the reason she is so much stronger now. With the collaboration of this hard-working, dedicated team, my darling Mama was able to go home today in better shape than before her illness. They provided excellent care for her, both physically and emotionally. Our family is extremely grateful and appreciative to the entire Staff of Paradise Valley Manor and Health Care Center.
