Pretty impressive. Was pretty busy the time we went (Friday evening) so we didn't necessarily get to do the group favorites as many times (sharing!). I also kind of had in the back of mind how many surfaces we were touching that everyone else there was also touching (from a hygiene perspective as we're in prime sick time). The group photo booth was cute, but I think we incorrectly assumed the photos would get sent to the emails of those who scanned their wristbands in? That seems to not be the case and no one ended up getting the photos which is kind of a bummer. Otherwise, good fun and a good experience. Staff were friendly and helpful as well. Best to wear sneakers and comfortable clothing to move around in. There are lockers and coat racks on site, and a huge parking lot.

Nico greeted us, gave us our bracelets, and pulled up our remaining balance to pay since paying the deposit online. We each signed a waiver and made a player profile on 10 iPads set up in the lobby. We received 2 locker bands to put our things away. Then Nico walked us through the gaming area - about 14 rooms with 4+ 30second-2minute games to choose from for 2-5 people. We split into 2 groups and started our game play by scanning our brackets at one of the doors and waiting for it to let us in (only a 1ish min wait while other groups do their game). After a few games we were able to reconfigure groups to hangout with new people in our party. The 1 hour timeframe only includes the time when you are in a game, so we ended up at activate for an hour and a half. We visited most rooms and probably played 10 different games, many of them multiple times through 1-4 levels. Once your time is low it tells you "1 game remaining!" It told us that twice so be sure to check your bracelet for an extra game at the end! We took a fun family photo in the Photo Booth at the end. Perhaps try that at the beginning before you get sweaty! It was more cardio and fun than expected :) There are so many games and levels that I would continue having a fun time after many visits. We'll definitely be back to activate! We'll try the one back home in Seattle next.

However, what really sold me were two things: (1) the customer service of the staff and (2) the arcade's strive for innovation and progression in enhancing the VR experience. The staff where very kind and accommodating, even with our large party of 7. They did their best to provide a wide range of games for us to play. In addition, after our time was up, my friends and I got to beta test their first multiplayer VR backpacks. Imagine being able to physically move around and play with your friends in an open space - awesome, right? This is a but a glimpse of what Escape VR at Oxford, MI can provide to the public. I'm only in Michigan for vacation this weekend, but this visit was the most memorable. As an engineer, I appreciate their innovation and profession in VR, and I hope the next time I visit MIchigan, I get to see how much this place has grown.

We couldn't reserve a spot because of parties, but we really didn't have that long to wait. There are plenty of games to occupy you. Next time I need a kids party venue, I'll look into this- the prices are super affordable. The staff was awesome. Seriously, so helpful and friendly and organized. They run the place easily. The 'course' or whatever you call it was really cool. Lots of ramps and hiding spaces and plenty of room for 30 ish people at a time. Very safe and easy to understand and a ton of fun. My main concerns going in- *Can the harness accommodate larger adults? YES! Several of our guests are plus sized and they had no problem strapping the vest on. * can my 5 yr old niece play? YES! She was too small for a vest, but they gave her a gun and kid had a blast! (See what I did there?) Highly recommended. Great times

Game play - 30min felt like a reasonable time in the virtual world! I think 35min would've been perfect because there were 2 more games that we didn't get to play. High quality and didn't give me motion sickness. We got a headset, VR set, jacket, arm and ankle sensors, the whole shebang! Videos - production value was so cool and it's so fun to play back the time and to be actually able to see your character. The bad: expensive as heck! $60 per person + taxes and fees! For 6 people, it came to about $380! The sensors had a little bit of delay. My BF had to request assistance twice because his arm sensors had issues. Another in our party had a headset issue. The technical stuff just HAVE to be sorted out to be able to enjoy the whole experience. Timing - most of us came early and in that time, a staff member could've prepared us to think of a team name and choose characters so that it wouldn't be part of our actual time. But there was no one there to tell us anything beforehand or really even acknowledge our presence. Theme - we chose Squid Games and it's the only non-shooting option. Sandbox should definitely switch out some of the same old zombie or space call of duty ones to serve us some puzzle sessions. Get creative! Squid Games was extremely fun but I was so frustrated by the red light/green light one. My tracker wasn't really picking up my sensor when I touched a coin. Space - 4 people could move around comfortably but 6 people in the same size room was crowded! I think there should be slightly bigger rooms for the max number of people. You sweat a lot by the end so we just have to trust that they "clean" the fabric part of the goggles! If they do another promo, I want to go back! However, with the lack of puzzle options, unless they change up Squid Games, I don't know!

We would have to shout for assistance, by the third time I felt defeated. Towards the end I asked if I could get a refund for just me due to not being able to experience the game, how can you shoot zombies with no gun?? All he had to offer was a credit and said no refunds allowed. We paid close to $700 and to not even get an apology for a messed up experience or refund one person out of 15 people is crazy.... Beware if their system is malfunctioning they don't care they already got your money.
