I had to drive an hour and a half to see Dr. Rice in Winchester Ky. He is one of the worst doctors…read moreI have ever seen. He did not examine me; he did not spend more than 5 minutes with me. I can barely function. I have severe sciatic nerve issues causing me extreme pain. I have numbness that is increasingly getting worse. I can't even walk for more than a few minutes without becoming unstable on my feet. He didn't bother to ask questions about it and was completely dismissive towards me. He asked me if I wanted an MRI. I said since I could HARDLY function, I would think it would be necessary, but he acted like he could care less if I had one done. I now have to start all over and find another doctor because there is no way I would ever let him treat me for anything. Useless... a complete waste of time and money. When someone goes to see a specialist, it is because they need care. To have a doctor express no concern for a patient or not bother to listen to them or take them seriously should not be treating anyone.

Dr.Supinski gave me back the use of my right hand 6 years after I severed it leaving me with claw…read morehand deformity and out of work. When top specialists in both NYC and Philadelphia only were able to give me 15% usage back and for over 6 years I couldnt even hold a broomstick without dropping it, Dr,Supinksi offered to do microsurgery with a technique he had developed and gave me back more than 85% usage so I could resume doing my artwork again! At the time he resided in Coudersport Pa.Before the microsurgery, I had to tape brushes and pens to my hand to attempt to do any art work, but the improvements he made were immediately noticeable in the recovery room hours after he operated! It was as though he literally brought my hand back from the dead.I was told that I would never recover nerves and that the blood supply which had been tied off would never let my hand function properly again. My fingers were without a sense of touch and often I used to re-injure them while cooking or working with them. After the surgery, I regained some of the previously lost feeling along with more range of motion and a new impossible to explain sense of grasp that was supposd to never return according to other surgeons , in fact did return after Dr.Supinski's help. That surgery he did on my hand in 1990 enabled me to start sign painting and doing murals again, as well as fine arts and pen and ink illustrations. He managed to undo some of the damage inflicted on me by Staten Island surgeon Dr.Raju who had butchered my hand in 1984 carelessly overseaing a resident working on my hand instead of him because my insurance was not to his liking,so I ws left with claw hand deformity. As a result of the microsurgery done my Dr.Supinksi, although he made no promises of nerve regeneration for damages so old, I began to experience igradual regeneration of those nerves anyway and they began to enable my hand began to feel again as well as to function better and better as the years went by.What a surgical successhis operation was! My only regret, personally, is that he has since moved his practice out of state. I was sorry to see he was leaving the area, but his talents exceeded the needs of the Coudersport area and his services were definitely needed in a more populated area. Dansville was indeed blessed to receive Dr.Supinski's services. He is the best hand surgeon I have ever dealt with and amazed to find outside of NYC and Phili.. In 2005, I began to get even more reconnection of some of the regenerated nerves [current doctors were amazed] and have been excelling in my artwork more now than in any time frame over the last 24 years since my original accident left my hand useless. I highly recommend Dr.Supinski to anyone who needs not just a good surgeon, but a great one who can not only tackle the impossible but he can overcome the obstacles that would stop other doctors and bring about successful recoveries from trauma & sports related injuries requiring micro surgeries. So if you need a top surgeon ,who can tell you 'he can do it' when others say they cant- believe him- he can do it! He let me know ahead of time, what he could do and promised not to do anything that could have jeopardize what little use I had of my hand prior to my surgery. He kept that promise. Also postoperatively, Dr.Supinksi is a very compassionate , astute and helpful to your needs. Unlike many doctors I have known and dealt with over the years, he made my recovery as painless as possible, without any hassles or holding out on pain relief rememdies. He fully explained all my options and generously took care of my pain concerns while I was recovering, leaving me with the most minimal discomfort imaginable. He cares for his patients in a kind, compassionate and personal manner. You can trust him with all your concerns. Several years after my hand surgerybefore leaving the Coudersport area, Dr.Supinski also repaired the rotator cuff in my shoulder, which likewise healed very well giving me back full range of motion as well. I still live in the northern tier of Pennsylvania, perhaps a bit too far away geographically, to travel to Dansville for my orthopedic needs, but if my insurance covered interstate hospitals, I wouldn't hesitate to make the trip to Dansville with any orthopedic needs that arrise as I fully trust in Dr.Supinskis capabilities.

Instead of fixing my hand, he said I had a pinched nerve in my neck & needed an injection in my back.....that would fix my thumb. It did not. Then he prescribed pain killers for months. He referred me to a neck and spine specialist when I requested a referral for a hand specialist. I feel Dr. Grau was unprofessional and left my hand damaged rather than addressing the real issue. I would NOT recommend Dr.Grau for any type of surgery.
