Dr Thummala is VERY rude, unprofessional, and unfriendly. My mom has been going to her for many years. The rude and uncalled for comments she made to my mom (HER PATIENT) are nothing short of sad, disgusting, and disappointing. Her and the staff never asked how my mom was, how her day was, or showed any kind of common decency and courtesy as you should when working with people. Instead of answering questions her patients have, she immediately becomes defensive and deflects. She can't take accountability for anything. They are NOT empathetic or caring in any manner. It's not healthCARE where they're concerned.. I could go on but we'll call it quits there. All she/they care about is getting patients in and out and collecting that paycheck.. so sad these are the type of people we have to help our loved ones... 10/10 would NOT recommend.. I was diagnosed with fast spreading type of the breast cancer and was referred to Dr Thummala by a friend. 1st visit she told me that all of my tests have to be done ASAP and i made sure they all were done within 2 weeks. I had only 1 more left and my insurance denied it due to more information needed from Dr Thummala. She could not respond on denial because she was on vacation and no one else could take care of it. Surgery was canceled because of that and pushed till after I see Dr Thummala again to get the plan of actions and figure out if I need chemo first or surgery. It was very stressful time for me to wait and knowing that I do not have all of the tests to proceed with the treatment and had no support or knowing what is going on. Finally I went to visit her 2nd time and she told me that she normally does not work with patients who have no trust in her because she found out that I submitted request to be transferred to a different doctor within CCC. I needed 2nd opinion and I wanted to see how other oncologist handle their patients. After all it is my health and life and I need to do what is best for me. Dr Thummala kept saying to me that she has clean records and deserves to have a vacation. She brushed over my tests blamed me for rushing things up and told me that I have plenty of time to wait! I was looking for an oncologist who is compassionate and have good listening skills not for a doctor who is a dictator and has big ego. When you get diagnosed with cancer the fear takes over your body and you need someone to support you through your journey and be kind to you. read more

Dr. Thummala is a lifesaver, I had an amazing experience, she made me feel comfortable. She explained every step and made me feel like I am the only patient that she had, her staff is also wonderful and Always friendly to anyone entering the clinic. The chemo and treatment that she chose for me was well excepted by my body, as a matter fact I often asked her if she was only putting water in my veins. I'm very unhappy with Dr. Anu Thummala's decision to ban me, her patient, from all Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Las Vegas. Not to receive treatments for the cancer that I have. She falsely wrote reviews and my medical records to malign the staff with my name calling. I, in no way, called her a shit hole or embarrassed her in front of her staff. All the same she was believed by the manager, Connie, and now she has caused me excess stress. What good is this facility when a cancer patient has been dumped during the most stressful period of treatment? my review keeps getting taken down on google... i have been very reluctant over the last year to leave a review or even look this doctor up by name, because i always told myself i dont want to be angry... but people deserve to know. She would never allow my mom or any patients of hers to bring someone into the room with her (2021) people are arguably going through the worst time of their life when they step foot inside a comprehensive cancer center and she's so cruel that she wouldn't let anyone have support when they go back, i was fully vaccinated and wore a mask so there was no excuse when other doctors allowed it for their patients... my mom had a rare form of lung cancer, it was certainly terminal. she had my mom do chemo from April 2021- August 2021 before her surgery, upon arriving at USC in california for her surgery the surgeon who specialize in the type of rare cancer my mother had said that my mom was not stage 4 like Dr. Thummala had said and said she was actually stage 2 or 2b and also said that my mother should've done surgery before chemo... her cancer had done nothing but grow... the last 8 months. Young and native, i was mother care taker at only 22 years old, i still allowed my mom to go back and see this doctor, she then had my mom start immunotherapy, which my mom had developed seizures from, as months went on the seizures get worse with more treatments my mother was 55 and never had a seizure in her life until she started this treatment and that Doctor did nothing but tell her if she stops the treatment her lungs will fill with fluids and she will die, in the most fearful way... I ended up finding an actual specialist through CCCN months later, not sure why they didnt have my mom see him in the first place but it was to late, the seizures ruined my mothers quality of life, it got so bad to the point where she couldn't eat because of the seizures and lost her ability to walk and ended up declining. she past away last October at 56 years old. Avoid the hell out of this doctor she doesn't care about people she will fear monger you, and have you taking treatments that won't do anything to extend your life, but ruin the quality of it... if i had known better maybe my mom wouldn't had died in the painful way she did. my greatest regret was letting my mother see this woman. read more

I was referred to Dr. Thummala to be my Oncologist. During my FIRST and only appointment with this person, she was very judgmental of me. She kept saying, "You have pin-point pupils, you have scratches all over your back and you look tired, are you tired?" I replied, yes I am probably tired, I work full time and I am married with 4 children, and I've just been diagnosed with Breast Cancer! She then asked me, FOUR times, if I was a drug user. My husband and I were very confused. We had just come from the gym, and were prepared to face cancer head on, only to be interrogated by Anu Thummala. She sent me out of the office for blood work, only to find out that it was a full drug panel! She was rude, insensitive and mis-read me 100%. Somebody printed me a copy of my file because they were concerned by the comments she made about me, Like-the patient seems orientedX10, the patient has pin-point pupils, the patient refuses to admit drug use, the patient has scratches all over her back, and I am sending her for a full drug panel! Dr. Anu Thummala saved my husband's life two years ago, and is saving his life once again. He has a difficult and dangerous form of leukemia and Non Hodgkin lymphoma. Dr. Anu Thummala treated my mother for over five years for colon cancer. At first, the treatment appeared successful, but later we discovered it had spread like wildfire to her liver. I don't blame Dr. Thummala for failing to cure my mother. My mother absolutely loved her and they had a wonderful doctor-patient friendship, sharing updates about their children, telling funny stories, and working though challenges together. Tragically, my mother died suddenly one night in February. It was an emergency situation that was unrelated to her cancer. My complaint about Dr. Thummala is that she never reached out to me, my mother's only child. I called Dr. Thummala's office 5 times and talked to her staff, requesting that Dr. Thummala get in touch with me. She didn't make an effort to talk to me or to find out what happened to her adoring patient of five years. Dr. Thummala just now today, July 29th 2020 at 4:45pm decided not to see me as a NEW patient because I have previously had cervical cancer. I was diagnosed in March of 2011 and started treatment in April of 2011. I have been through 3 moves since then and can't find my medical records. My oncologist at the time, Dr. Falkner, does not have my records (?? why, I don't know). Apparently TEN (10!!?!!) YEARS has to go by before she will see anyone that has gone through chemotherapy but doesn't have records! It will be TEN Years for me in March 2021! Dr Anu Thummala saved my life!!! After an endoscopy in December 2015, I was told I had Esophagus cancer. Fortunately, my primary Dr referred me to Dr Thummala. She referred me to an excellent surgeon, Dr Arnold Chung. Prior to my Esophagectomy surgery on 5/16/16, Dr Thummala personally managed my chemo and radiation treatment at CCC. Obviously it was successful because I'm here today five years later! She has monitored it closely and I've returned for six month scans. I have been seeing Dr. Thummala since being diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, in February of this year. She has been up-front with this non-curable cancer, and I appreciate that. I always bring in lots of questions for her, and she answers them. She's always smiling and makes me feel at ease. Right now, because of the treatment that she choose for me, I feel better than I have in the past 18 months. Everyone at Comprehensive Cancer Center on Peak is wonderful, from the front desk, who know my name, to the nurses and assistants in the office, to the technicians that get the blood-work done, to the wonderful people in the chemo room who work so hard to make you more comfortable. I have been a patient of Dr. Thummala's for over 10 years now and I have never had a doctor that was more patient centric than this doctor. From the very beginning she took me seriously, listened to me and was always straightforward and honest with me when I asked questions or felt insecure about some symptom I was having. I have had cancer several times and I have always gone back to Dr. Thummala because I know that she will always be upfront with me about what is going on, what tests are needed, etc. Her office always gets back to me in a timely manner so that I don't spend a lot of unnecessary wasted time waiting for an appointment.
