Every square inch of the shop is filled with antiques, vintage pieces and gifts. I saw jewelry, jadeite, blue ware, postcards and much more. Narrow aisles wind through different rooms with different themes of merchandise. I saw candles and a fabulous display of ladies totes made from repurposed army tents. I was really tempted by the well made bags. The clerk was friendly and helpful. We were greeted when we entered. Prices were reasonable. Free street parking is available outside the front door. It would be tough to maneuver a stroller through the shop.

I did find a couple of pieces a little higher priced than I've seen at similar shops, but still fair pricing. The shop has many narrow isles and is not wheelchair or walker friendly. If I had toddlers, I honestly wouldn't bring toddlers with the amount of breakables along the isles. If you must, hang on tight. The shop has several rooms and a bargain room in the very back. You can find furniture, lamps, dishware, farmhouse decor, model cars and trucks, unique wagons, and used interior and exterior doors. I'm currently looking for 2 of the same style and size of doors to make a really cool bench out of. The ladies working at the shop were friendly and allowed everyone to browse at their own pace. They floated around working on a few things and always available to answer questions. I will be returning as they have two items I have my heart set on. I just have to determine what has to go at home so I'll have the perfect spot.

This little shop in the heart of Kirklin carries about half antiques and half gift/decor items. I…read moresaw a collection of vintage quilts, primitive cookware, candles fabric pieces and a bit of furniture. I really liked the collection of older wooden bowls. Prices were reasonable. The clerk was welcoming and friendly. She told me that the fabric squares that they sell are special and used to make pillows and other handmade crafts. The shop is opened Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. There is free street parking. Their sidewalks were dangerously icy during my January visit, so I had to walk carefully.

If you're…read moreunfamiliar with primitive decor, it has all the charm of farmhouse style but focused on things that are, or appear to be vintage, antique, or handmade. The colors are darker, richer colors than the neutrals of the farmhouse style. For example, primitive style will feature early colors that are dark, muted, warm, and earthy colors that highlight familiarity and weathered beauty. Popular shades on the primitive spectrum are: black, barn red, navy blue, cream, putty, tan, umber, walnut, mustard, sage, and burgundy. Colors are easy to use in a home that loves antiques, Americana, distressed woods, providing a calming, cohesive environment. My dear friend has a primitive home that is stunning and so warm and comforting that it defines primitive. Fireside Primitives isn't a huge shop but has so many of the basic accent pieces and accents to help you either add greenery, candles, candle boxes, lights, bowls and table runners to name just a few of the many items they offer. I fell in love with the covered bridge with lights inside and trimmed out along the edges of the bridge. I'm still trying to find a place for this adorable piece. The two ladies running the shop were super friendly, proud of their shop, and the appreciation I personally had for their decor. The shop reflected all the primitive colors, and you have to stand back when you walk into the shop to take in all the colors, textures, and design. When you're in Kirklin, be sure to stop in Fireside Primitives to see the colors, textures, and lighting that fill this gorgeous space.

He told us the the building originally was a chicken hatchling house. The original sign hangs behind his counter. The store is extensive yet easy to get around. There is also a few nice restaurants on the square if you'd like to dine while there. Peddler's Alley was close to the square so we stopped to check it out. The building is much larger than it appears from the outside. Convenient parking is in front of the shop. I was warmly greeted as I entered and I immediately headed to a gorgeous fireplace mantle close by. The grouping was gorgeous with the mantle, area rug, chandelier, willow branches, rocking chair and other home decor items. The large shop has several rooms filled with mid-century furniture, prints, lamps, home decor, candles, glassware, stained glass and so much more. If you enjoy browsing or looking for something specific stop in Peddler's Alley and explore this clean, well organized shop. The owner is friendly and helpful but allows you to browse at your spend. Stop in.

Displays are well spaced apart so you're not bumping into other shoppers. Or as in our case, room for my friend to walk easily between displays with her walker. The owner was kind enough to allow her to sit on several chairs as she needed to rest a few times while browsing the shop. (Side effects of Covid-19). Currently the Easter decor is the holiday being displayed throughout and it is adorable. The varies types of bunnies with different hair and faces are so fun. If you're decorating for Easter she has adorable pieces to set the holiday mood in your home and centerpieces for your dining table. The furniture is gorgeous, priced well, versatile and perfect for many home decor styles. You'll also find colorful rugs, amazing lamps, bowls, blanket chests, wardrobes, ceramic pieces, glassware, wreaths, phenomenal artifical floral arrangements in all colors and would work in so many places in a home. So many things that it's impossible to mention it all. The owner was very friendly, answered questions, allowed us to browse freely and at our pace. As I mentioned before she allowed my friend to sit on the furniture when she couldn't walk any further which was so kind of her. She has an Open House this week so try to attend if you're free. I posted the Open House Flyer under the Tips button or checkout her Facebook site. Wonderful shop and well worth the 45 minute drive from the Westside of Indy. Easy street parking available in front of the building.
