I had to laugh at yelp's determination of which reviews to show.
I don't know who Liz P. is. That is the problem with Yelp, they don't require any proof of what someone is saying. Fake names, someone mad I beat them in court, who knows. Avvo does. So when someone is trying to anonymously attack an attorney, Yelp allows it, and Avvo doesn't. Zero friends, zero pics, zero other reviews, since five years ago. Sounds legit!
R.R. was a client who asked me to be on her case 2 years after it was filed in 2010, after her boyfriend was ineffective. She told me he used to be an attorney in Georgia and they needed me to review his filings and be their attorney in court. They didn't want me to do much more than that. I believe the "hefty" retainer was about $2,500. It turns out that the boyfriend was an attorney in Georgia, a disbarred attorney. No wonder. There's an appeals decision you can find in Google Scholar where the Appeals Court notes that the trial court caught her lying. I did not handle the appeal and one issue you don't see at the appeals court is ineffective assistance of counsel. No argument at all that I didn't do my job. The review is garbage. Only remembered me in 2019? Lol,
On the other hand is Patton, someone Yelp thinks shouldn't be considered. He was a client who came to me after his spouse moved several counties away from their marital home. He couldn't pick up and move because he had a full-time job. When he came to me, the case was already filed and moving along and he was on the short end of the stick when it came to getting placement for his kids. I was able to change the momentum in that case to the point where he was able to get 50/50 custody and placement.
Not sure why they don't want you to see Patton's review but these other two are on the front page, sounds kinda biased to me. read more
