I discovered this chapel existed years ago and bookmarked it hoping to find myself close enough to warrant a visit someday. We were spending a couple of nights in Hot Springs and ventured out one morning to see the chapel. We paid and visited the nearby gardens, but my mind was on the Anthony Chapel most of the time, which you can visit for free. So beautiful! I am a fan of mission style architecture, specifically Frank Lloyd Wright, and the chapel is nested in the woods with angles and lots of glass letting the beauty of nature shine through. E. Fay Jones, a native of Arkansas and apprentice of Wright, designed this chapel. The day we visited was also perfectly beautiful with blue skies and when we arrived at the chapel, no one was there. I approached the massive doors, pulled one open and stepped inside and it closed with a woosh, and left me in the silence and peace of the interior. Such a serene experience. I'm so glad we made it here!

A must see when you are in the area. Don't miss this. It's a great photo op spot so bring your camera.

Looking for an unique stop while in Arkansas??? Check out this chapel!! It's part of Garvan gardens but you can visit this part for free!!! Just visit during open hours, park near end of lot and follow the signs. You do not enter through visitor center. We were lucky enough to be able to visit the inside despite their website stating it was closed.

Anthony Chapel is a beautiful piece of architecture to gaze at. It's in high demand for private events so pre-plan your visit to see the inside.

The wow factor here is at 100%

This place... I have a thing for churches and this particular church is nothing like I've seen before. So unique! The structure features 57-ft ceilings and is made of native wood, glass, and stone. You can rent the chapel for your special day and it holds 160 guests. This stunning building is located in Garvan Woodland Gardens. It's surrounded by several hundred acres of botanical gardens. As if it couldn't get any better the garden is situated on Lake Hamilton. This chapel has been placed overlooking the lake and surrounded by forest. Almost feels like it's not real...

Anthony Chapel is one of the free structures guests can visit at the Garvan Woodland Gardens. The 57-foot wooden chapel is extremely beautiful and ornate. If you're feeling a 15-minute drive outside of the Hot Springs downtown area, I'd recommend visiting the chapel. Anthony Chapel is a part of the Garvan Woodland Gardens. Most of the gardens can be accessed after paying an admission fee. However, the chapel is accessible for free. At the time of our visit, in late July, the admission fee was $20 per adult. My group and I decided to opt out of the full garden experience because we felt as if this price was too high. We did visit the garden welcome center though, which includes a little gift shop. In the welcome center we spent some time chatting with a few very friendly volunteers who told us more about the gardens. The signage around the gardens to find the chapel is a little confusing. There are several service roads that look like roads for regular use, which my group and I walked down a few times before realizing that we were off the main path. The chapel itself is air conditioned and served as a perfect relief from the 100+ degree temperatures. We were able to walk around the entire chapel at our own will. There is a donation box but no garden worker was present. I can only imagine how beautiful a wedding would be at this venue!

Why does this place not have more reviews? I have no clue! It's so peaceful it's sacred. You can't possibly see the whole place in one day. We wished we had planned for more time here but feel blessed that we were able to feel some peace here and I got to see my first wild fox!!! Anthony Chapel was closed due to Covid but since it's glass we could still see inside. Small gift shop but everything you'd expect to find in one. Nice, clean bathrooms and several friendly staff! Go here!

Beautiful beautiful structure. Worth the stop if you are staying or even going through Hot Springs.

Beautiful architecture in a beautiful natural setting. A great place for a wedding with reception buildings, grooms quarters and bride's buildings along with your own carillon. There's a boat dock adjacent so I am assuming you could ferry your guests over.

The chapel is gorgeous and so are the gardens. It's a must see! This was a great place to do short hike to the boat dock and take in all the beautiful scenery from the architecture to God's creation.

I'm not one to spend time daydreaming about diamonds, dresses and wedding bells but me oh my would I love to marry someone...anyone in this beautiful church tucked away in the hills of Arkansas. My sister initially came across Anthony Chapel on Pinterest and oh, how grateful I am that we added it to our Ozark road trip itinerary. For those who appreciate nature, architecture, religion, tranquility, or any combo of the above, go here. It's stunning beyond words. This is what places of worship should look like. The natural beauty and surroundings speak for themselves. Who needs relics, fancy projectors and apps when you have chirping birds, the changing seasons and natural light? *Logistics: free to visit, plentiful parking, mark your calendar for my wedding May 2045.

caught a great shot of this amazing architecture

Set on a hillside overlooking Lake Hamilton, the chapel is a nice walk from the parking lot. I was visiting Garvan Woodland Gardens and made a stop here. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls and multiple skylights provide picturesque views of the surrounding woods. This chapel is beautiful and is almost six-story-tall structure made of massive yellow-pine columns and beams. Parking is free and even though there is an entrance fee for the main gardens, you will not need to pay a fee to see the chapel. Take a right down the path when you enter the main entrance past the parking lot.  Anthony Chapel can be rented for wedding ceremonies, concerts, performances, memorials and lectures. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. In addition, a great place for nature lovers to get married.
