Terrible wait times when you call to confirm out of network coverage. The online chat takes too long and is also incompetent.

Geoffrey more recently helped me to get Life Insurance so that my adult children would have more support if something were to happen to me. Again, he made it so easy! Geoffrey is always knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. He replies quickly whenever I have a question and I ask him something by email. I will hear back from him almost always on the same day that I asked the question. It is also very easy to call him at his office to get help when I had a need for immediate information. Geoffrey is reliable and I can't think of any way that he could be better than he already is. I'm very grateful to Geoffrey for his help with getting me insurance for the things I needed, and I highly recommend him!

When I first got this insurance almost a year ago, they put the policy under my name, when the car…read morewas under my mom's, even after it was specified that I was ONLY the driver. Months later, my very upset mother made me look for new insurances, because we were rudely told in person by one of the secretaries that they couldn't change anything about it. I was asked by a new potential STATE FARM broker to bring my information, but I was coaxed with a student discount. I went back, because I was only told to have 12 units of college credit. I had NINETEEN, and they didn't want to accept a W grade, which is still a PAID-for grade. I got that situation fixed, but I had to call and see if went through, because they didn't bother to call me back and let me know. She just happened to "forget to call back." This week I got an email asking to send in my grades and schedules, only to be told I didn't qualify because I didn't keep a 3.0, but a 2.5. When the hell was that going to be mentioned in ALL these phone calls and emails? During my email conversations, I'm told that Guillermo will be finally calling me personally at 12:45pm. I CALLED him, he told me he wasn't supposed to call me until 3pm. With that, I came to the final and long-waited conclusion of me leaving this inadequate, inefficient, unorganized, and careless insurance team later this upcoming month. JUST IMAGINE IF I HAD'NT KEPT ANY EMAILS!

BEWARE! I contacted Terry Tigh, owner/agent, of A.D. Dern Insurance Agency and requested to cancel…read moremy renter's insurance. Legally, a policy owner can cancel their policy at any time, for any reason. He REFUSED to cancel my insurance, citing he needed a letter of release of liability from my property manager - this is an illegal practice. After refusing to take a number of calls, I was able to speak with Terry. I explained that, as the insured, I have the legal right to cancel my renter's insurance and his only legal duty was to notify property management. Terry replied, "Listen, missy, you don't have to like my business practices. I am overriding your request to terminate renter's insurance". This agent actually stated that he was "overriding" my legal right to cancel renter's insurance?!?! Complaints have been filed with the California Department of Insurance, Better Business Bureau, and Progressive Direct at corporate level. My own property manager even agreed with me and said they did not understand why he was asking for these documents...and they also made a comment about his attitude! Nice to you when you sign up and pay but will become your biggest headache when you try to cancel.

I've been a customer for just over a year, and am extremely happy I made the switch. You know what…read moremost insurance companies don't have? A personal touch. The staff at A. D. Dern have that personal touch, and so much more. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. And you know what I really love? There's no robot that picks up the phone when you call, just one of their excellent agents. You just can't find this kind of service in the insurance industry these days, and I am so impressed that they can deliver it.
