I had messaged Tracy previously with my hair pics asking for pricing so I knew what to expect. I decided to drop by after work on Friday and was planning to do a root touch-up only, but Tracy and Noomi were both so nice and helpful that I decided to go ahead and just get my hair highlighted like before. The salon is small and simple, and it felt homey versus all those big, fancy ones that you see online. I haven't got my hair done since last year, so my black roots were growing out and it clashes with my previous blond highlights. It looks so bad and brassy that I decided to go back to dark brown. I gave Tracy a photo example but I wanted it darker and she suggested the color. I think it was reddish-brown brown or something, I'm not sure. She told me the price and I was okay so we got started. I came at 5:30 and they closed at 7, so I was surprised that she said yes. I know highlights take at least 3-4 hours, so I was planning to come back another day, but Noomi said it was okay and she started working on my hair. Tracy was busy with other customers so it was Noomi and this other lady (I didn't catch her name sorry) who stayed until 10 pm to do my hair. I was worried that they would rush to get home early, but they did not. They took their time highlighting each strand carefully and the final product/color turned out so well! I was super impressed and my hair still feels super silky and soft after all the bleach, AKA they know what they're doing. I wasn't planning on finding a new salon but my old hair stylist moved, so I'm glad to stumble upon Tracy Hair Salon. They also offer services like hair massage, hair styling, eyebrow tinting, and many more that I plan to come back to in the future. Noomi did an amazing job, and the photos she took were beautiful as well. I know appointments are encouraged but I called before coming in to make sure it was okay. It was quickly dried and styled in center or side parts, with lots of volume, lift and swing. Elegant and easy. Derek said he couldn't understand me. I should have left immediately. What I have now is an inexplicable cut, 2-5 " off, barely chin length, huge amounts of hair removed, wispy layers everywhere, and texturizing. He has activated a mass of waves and curls never seen before. From the front, the shape is a cartoonish wide diamond. From the sides, a fat wedge. This is the opposite of what is required for copious, European, fine, porous hair with a nape curl and minimal wave. Derek basically has created a White girl Afro. He somehow dried it beautifully, disguising the weird architectural structure by using a tiny brush on myriad narrow strands, drying them straight, and contorting them via elaborate manual sculpting techniques, product and nearly an hour of work. Maybe he planned to do twice-weekly blowdries on it. I have spent many days and dollars elsewhere experimenting with product, techniques and professional advice while attempting to cope. Derek pleasantly refunded the charges and apologized for the "inconvenience." This is far worse than inconvenient.

Being new to Dallas I had no idea who to go to and decided to yelp it. Found JT hair lab and after going through the reviews I decided to come to her. Couldn't be happier! Jenny was so throughout and professional. She evaluated my hair and gave me step by step procedure how she would fix it and bring it to where I would want it. I didn't expect to make it happen in one try (the before picture would explain why) - but she made it happen !!!! And she always inform you before she goes into the next step. We spent 7hrs and the result is amazing. After all that my hair still healthy, smooth and shiny.
