Was looking forward to coming here again. Called 30 mins ahead to confirm available stylist to add layers to human hair unit (emphasis on this) as I previously had done. Unfortunately the previous, experienced and kind stylist is no longer there but the phone attendant confirmed someone else could cut my unit and told me to come walk in. I asked if it was busy as well before I hung up. I drove 20 mins out and once I arrived, confirmed who who I was/called and was met with a lot of off putting stares followed by claims of "oh busy," "ah no can't do," "not real" and other opposing responses. I remained present to understand what is the issue due to it not visibly being busy, reconfirming I called ahead and then asked for a final clarifying answer which was "no experience cutting units." I would have most respected that answer over the phone. It was quite frustrating due to my proactive measure, especially considering gas prices. With the absence of the former employee, unfortunately this is not a viable destinations for getting units cut, if that is your need. I'm sure they do all other services fine. read more

Let me just say that this place is VERY popular with the residents of Las Vegas. I found this off of Yelp I think top #3. I walked in a HOT MESS and left feeling light and refreshed. The prices here are more than reasonable and the service I was provided was TOP TIER. I can't remember the hair dresser's English name, but I seen her name was Thuy on her license. She gave me THEE best shampoo experience I have ever had. I have went to high priced salons everywhere I visit and Thuy was the greatest I have ever came across. I even went to sleep when she was washing, cutting and styling my hair. I couldn't get a picture of my after because I had to shoot to a birthday party, but this place is a GEM! Thuy gave me beautiful long layers, with a blow out and soft curls. I do have wavy hair (Polynesian texture) and Thuy was able to tame my hair and it came out super light, big and beautiful as ever. My overall experience here is definitely a 10/10 and I WILL BE BACK and spread the word of this hole in the wall. 3.5 I desperately needed a haircut and the price was right so I made an appointment via phone. I wasn't looking for anything extravagant - just some long layers. I walked in and the lady was less than enthusiastic and asked me if I had a preference for who cut my hair. I said no so she sat me in her chair. She asked if I wanted layers which I'm pretty sure she can just tell from my last hair cut and I said yes. She didn't talk to me the whole time (which I don't mind) but she kept getting distracted with the people behind me arguing about the quality cut they got. I was worried that she wasn't concentrating on my hair but she did a overall decent job. After 20 minutes, she was done, blow dry any strayed hairs but still left a lot on my shirt and arm. Nikki recommended a ash balayage, it wasn't my first choice but after seeing the results I was surprised and ended up loving it. She gave my hair a nice trim and shaped my face nicely as well. I've gotten many compliments on my hair so thank you Nikki I will come back to see you again! Tip: although they take walk ins, make an appointment this place gets super busy! I've been a loyal customer to Ann's Salon for 17 years now as of the time of this review. When I first moved to Vegas in 2007 as a college student I had no idea where to get my haircut. I had previously tried at least 5-6 places in the city that were overpriced, pushed for unnecessary things, and seemed to just rush through their customers. My girlfriend at the time recommended me to try Ann's Salon where she and her family had been going for their hair care needs. She referred me to TRAVIS after seeing his mastery and attention to detail. Travis has been my go-to hairstylist/hairdresser ever since! There's so many good things to say about Travis. He takes great pride in his craft and artistry. He's extremely focused and meticulous to detail. He always gives a good haircut and puts a nice touch on every job. He's always been accommodating to my requests (such as when I wanted to try different hairstyles) and does his best to fit me in for appointments. His work is simply exceptional and consistent. I fully trust Travis with my hair and strongly endorse his work! Over the years I've received dozens of compliments on my haircut from friends, family, peers, coworkers, and even random strangers. I remember on several occasions when walk-in customers would request for Travis on-the-spot after observing his work! I'll continue to patronize Ann's Salon as they've managed to keep the prices affordable while still providing excellent service. The owner, Ann, and the entire team are friendly and professional. Most of the staff have been there for years. They strive to provide a great experience for each of their customers. Each worker seems to have their own specialties or services they excel in (such as layering, womens hair, mens hair, dying/highlights, etc.), so I'd recommend inquiring and/or looking through reviews and photos. I didn't have to wait only about 5-10 minutes for a walk in. I had a 8 month perm that I needed cut off. My hair was very dry. I was very pleased with the experience. Coming here was not intentional, but extremely glad that I stumbled upon here. It's a hidden gem in Chinatown. After working long hours for days on end, I couldn't find the time to wash my own hair. So one day, in between my meetings, I tried to find a place that can do a quick shampoo and style. Of course I used my favorite app - YELP. Initially, I found another place first. Unfortunately, they didn't have any openings and were not very friendly, which brought me to the second option, Ann's Salon. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted right away. I could tell they were a bit busy, but still made the effort to fit me in. I was super grateful. Sean shampooed my hair, and I have to say, it felt like I was in Asia again, getting the ultimate relaxing hair wash at such a reasonable price. 100% satisfied. I am never going to this place again, they truly ruined my hair. The man who was handling my hair was very rough with my shampooing and water got spilled all over me. I also asked for a trim, only on the shoulders (my hair wasn't that far off from my shoulders) and the man cut my hair so short. The front of it is to my chin and the back is long which I did not ask for at all. I also had a very long wait, it took about 30 minutes for me to finally get a haircut and it was a man who did not even listen to me at all. It was like he did what he wanted to my hair. I will never go to this place again as they did not listen to me. My haircut is so ugly and I would just recommend going to Supercuts because they listen to you. Horrible expensive salon.
