This place is perfect for a large group! There may be a wait but you're able to order an adult beverage while waiting which is a plus. They have a huge menu selection of food which is great. I ended up getting the chilaquiles w fried egg, it was very tasty and the chilaquiles is not soggy. My bf ordered the huevos divorsiado Benny which was also delicious. The two sauce that came with it was delicious. We didn't get any mimosa but we got some Bloody Mary w gin - it was made inconsistently but we figure it out - make sure they add Worcestershire sauce!! Would come back here again to try their other things!

Full disclosure: I don't care for breakfast foods! Once and a while I do crave some eggs benny!! Now the man can eat breakfast any time of the day. So I thought I should give in and check this place out for breakfast. Granted they have other offerings such as Carnitas, Burgers and crepes!! They offer sooooo many flavored mimosas: Mango Coconut, Cherry Bomb, Paloma, Passion Mango and more!! $30 for a bottle of Korbel! This place gets very busy on the weekends with limited seating. They offer outdoor seating!

Great food! Chilaquiles was well made and had a good flavor - not too spicy either. The steak was cooked great and the mushrooms added great flavor. I also enjoyed a coffee. The waitress was super nice and checked in on us a lot

This place is a true gem, this is a family run business and it really shows that they pride themselves in a great atmosphere, amazing service and incredible food that tastes like it was made in my grandmas kitchen and everything is sprinkled with love, we left full and excited for our next visit

Just learned of this local restaurant and based on the reviews, went for late (10:00am) breakfast today. Well located on Placerville Drive in Placerville suburbia. Parking is ample although located on two levels. We received an immediate smiling welcome and were quickly seated. It was busy for a Wednesday mid-morning. The restaurant is comfy with lots of spacing between tables, has nice bar seating as well as an outdoor patio with picnic-style tables and umbrellas. Very clean and new looking interior - yes the restroom was very clean too. The menu is extensive and mostly breakfast items and includes several yummy sounding Mexican-inspired dishes. There is also a good selection of lunch sandwiches, salads, etc. While we had a primary server we were also cared for by other servers and staff. All very friendly and experienced. Service is top notch and feels very homey. I ordered the Breakfast Sampler that included pancakes, sausage links, bacon, hashbrowns and 2 eggs. Sweetie ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs - also included hashbrowns and toast. Food was okay although some misses - bacon VERY overcooked, soft scrambled eggs not soft, cream gravy pretty bland and fried cube steak just okay. Pancakes were the star of the show - ample sized, nice and fluffy and served with real butter (alas corn syrup). Given everything, I'm rating an overall four as service, location, decor, etc. were all 5's. Food was a 3 with pancakes a 5. Next time I will be trying some of the mexican-inspired dishes.

Breakfast!

Yay! Our new favorite lunch place on Main Street!…read more We just stopped by last weekend, we've been wanting to try this place out but it just hadn't happened.... Last Monday we decided to have lunch there, one of our regular places is closed Mondays and this place was open so we checked it out...and we're SO SO glad we did! Atmosphere was nice and server was very friendly from the moment we walked in. First thing I noticed; $5 mimosas!! I asked if they did anything other than orange juice and yes, they had several other options so I had the cranberry version. Delicious! I went with their mac and cheese, my partner got the basic hamburger. Mac and Cheese -- definitely very bacon forward, much more than I prefer. That being said, I still liked it, it also had sour cream and green onion on top. Bacon lovers will LOOOVE this version, there is LOTS of it and every bite you can taste it. Normally I prefer my mac & cheese with no bacon or just a bit here and there, I prefer to taste more of the cheeses.....again, it still tasted good, its a good serving and I ate half and had enough to save for the next day at work. Creamy and well made, again I just prefer to taste more cheese than bacon. I wouldn't order this again but like I said, a bacon lover will LOVE this version. Now, my partner's burger was Incredible. We are PICKY with our burgers, and we both thought this one was fantastic. Big, and great ratio to the bun. He ordered it medium and asked for "a little char" and they made it perfectly. I took a bite and yeah, I'd order that for sure. The fries were great, too. Overall we were super happy with our lunch, I thought it was priced fairly as well. We will definitely be back!!

I'll give 2* because the food (when it came) was great…read more We've been to Franny's a couple times before and had O.K. service and good food. The pitfalls of the restaurant seem to be entirely the service. Most recently we went to Franny's on Mother's Day. We had reservations and walked in, on time. We were initially sat in a nice booth in the front of the restaurant. It was my wife and I plus our 2 kids, the table size seemed appropriate. After being sat, we sat without talking to a server for 10+ minutes, not even getting waters. Eventually, when someone did come, it was a waitress/hostess telling us that there had been a mix up, and we needed to move. We weren't excited on the idea, as we were happy where we were, but we moved to the back of the restaurant. This time we sat for 15 minutes without being acknowledged by any wait staff. At this point it is 9:25 and we've been seated for 25 minutes without even water. Finally a waitress comes, and takes our drink order, and our food order as we'd definitely had ample time to look over the menu. About 9:50 the food arrives. My wife and kids' food comes and is great. My food comes and looks off, and the waitress tells me that the kitchen accidentally made me a "veggie" scramble instead of the chorizo that I had ordered, but that she'd get me some bacon and all was well. I asked what was in the veggie scramble and was told it has mushrooms, which is a hard pass for me. She told me she could have what I had actually ordered made but it would "take a long time". I said O.K. - what else was I going to do? Finally it comes, and my wife is done eating, and the kids are close, so, I asked for it to be "boxed up". The waitress rolled her eyes and set to the task. I'm not a restaurant snob - but I really expected an apology or something to be "comp'd" due to the rough experience, but nope, full bill and no apology. Regrettably, despite Franny's being a local joint and having good food, we won't be back.

The three of us ordered the "rib eye" chicken fried steak senior lunch meal with mashed potatoes and salad. The only thing good was the salad and our drink order. The steak was tough, rubbery & had too much gristle for my MNL to even finish eating it. I asked for gravy on the side and my lunch arrived with gravy smothered on everything; so it went back. When the server was told the lunch was actually disgusting, she didn't apologize for the cooks not doing their job nor asked if we wanted to speak to the manager. When my husband went to pay the check, the manager was doing the cash register and my husband conveyed to him that the food (except for the salad) was not up to par and we wouldn't be back. That manager couldn't care less...didn't offer a discount on the ticket nor to comp the meals for something else to redeem themselves for a return visit! Save a trip and go directly to Mel's Diner across the street for a much better food experience and server cheerfulness. Afterwards, we went to McD's for an ice cream cone to cleanse our palates and got something else for dinner. If I could give a zero rating, I would!!! Very disappointing!!!

From Garrett and…read moreJasmin, to the decaf coffee, decorations, the fun coworkers, the hot blonde barista with glasses, everything. It's been a good run folks. So sad to see our last day has come and gone. Today is the first Monday closed . No more Ciao welcome in. No more very berry bars. No more ham and cheese croissants. For those of you looking for that caffeine fix and wish to venture out of the Sacramento area,…read more"Love Birds Coffee & Tea Co." will have you covered. Ever since their opening back in 2016, this has been a wildly popular spot to enjoy inside or on-the-go with their convenient drive-thru. Located right next to a Quik Stop gas station and a Subway, this place is conveniently at the corner of Diamond Rd (Highway 49) and Pleasant Valley Rd in the small community of Diamond Springs. I also wanted to mention that they have very generous hours of operation being opened Monday through Saturday from 5:30am to 4:30pm while being closed on Sunday. I ended up coming here during the afternoon of Saturday 6/15/2024 at around 2:15pm. Since this was well past the morning rush, there were no other customers inside and not a single vehicle parked directly outside. As far as the exterior layout, it uses freestanding rocks which gives it a castle-like appearance. The interior though is very impressive as they've utilized the walls with floral-type balconies, a large painting with more floral arrangements surrounding it, and vintage furniture which has a very nostalgic look as if you've stepped back in time. I also wanted to point out that there is a spacious outdoor sitting area for the most comfortable days. First and foremost, the menu here is quite impressive with a huge selection of coffees, espressos, teas, quenchers, blended drinks, and smoothies. They also carry a nice assortment of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, burritos, croissants, and crepes. And for the lunch crowd, they even offer pizza, pasta, soup, and traditional sandwiches. I ended up ordering a slice of their pepperoni pizza with a small mango smoothie while my significant other went with a bacon, egg, & cheddar bagel with an iced Americano. Our drinks were ready within a couple minutes while our food came shortly thereafter. I will say that the mango smoothie was delicious as it was refreshing without being too overbearingly sweet. However, the pizza was just okay for me as it was a bit on the soggy side and not too crisp. Same goes with the bagel as there were more small clumps of bacon (instead of full-cut bacon). And the eggs, they resembled more of a processed scramble egg with a perfectly cut square; I have a feeling it might be frozen and heated to save time. However, the bagel was good and had nice texture to it. Still at $10 for the breakfast bagel, this was a bit on the pricier side. All in all, "Love Birds Coffee & Tea Co." is a decent place that has a lot of character and charm to it. The young staff working here were very kind, courteous, and accommodating while the ambiance is definitely a home run in my book. I'd stick with the coffee as this is their strong point. But for a stop before work or even if you're heading to Tahoe or the foothills, this is a decent above average business. My rating, four stars.

So if you like those Raiders of the Lost Ark vibes, then you would like sitting next to the mine for sure. It's roped off but you can hear the water dripping and it is naturally cool. The structure was originally built as a hotel in 1853 and has been well preserved. I ordered their Smith Flat House salad ($10) and the Jambalaya Risotto ($34) which consisted of Cajun-marinated prawns, lobster meat, Andouille sausage, grilled sweet corn with saffron chicken risotto. Definitely had a bit of a kick to it, the risotto was done well. My pet peeve is mushy risotto, it needs to have a slight bite to it which this one had thankfully. Love the fact that this place serves up local wines -- I couldn't recall the wine I had and they do not have their wine menu on their website. If you have the opportunity to visit, I'd recommend a glass of red from Starfield (winery up the road).
