Annex is a marketing company moonlighting as an investment company. Poor returns driven by an overpaid Willy Nilly analysis paralysis investment committee who's consistently behind the market. I crushed their returns with a company Fidelity 401K account with six real investment options. I know seven people who have/had money there, five left. Well I just received my September summary report and once again looked at $9,000+ loss for the month. Thats 18 months in a row of losses. If Annex is a fiduciary how is losing retirement money month after month good for me ....the customer. I do keep scratching my head trying to figure out why I have certain funds in my portfolio that have a 5 year trend of losses. I did asked my "Wealth Manager" and was told not to question the investment committees decisions. Just love dealing with a condeesending individuals.(not really) I do give Annex credit for starting to put client monies into CD's. Although they were about 90-120 days late in pulling the trigger on this one. There are many good professional managers at Annex Wealth. Just wish they were more hands-on with the client regardless of the portfolio balances. read more

Much like the other reviewers, my investments significantly underperformed the market over the past year and a half. My investments that are (were) actively managed at Annex are up 6.5% while if I had left them in the target retirement fund I previously had with TRP they would have been up over 16%. When pressed on performance they give vague answers. My balance was bought and sold three times over and I am no where near retirement. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I'm going back to Zero Index Funds. Waste of money. Also had two different advisors in that time and had to request meetings through an app that were weeks out. Nothing proactive on their part at all except constantly using my money to make bad decisions. read more

We've been working with Annex for years and are very happy with them. They're responsive to any questions or requests we have, and give us lots of ways to connect that don't require an office visit, which is important to us since we have a bunch of kids. They're pros and they know their stuff. It's nice to know you're working with good people who aren't trying to sell you things. Their tagline is "know the difference" with an investment team approach using tactical allocation. These are fancy words for nothing more than market timing. Paying a team of individuals making six figures trying to beat the market will almost guarantee under performance. They can talk about interest rates, inflation, elections, global conflicts, etc. until the cows come home; but in the end to use the words of the late Jack Bogle "nobody knows nothing." The 1% to 1.5% investment fee slowly transfers the client's wealth over to Annex Wealth Management over the course of one's lifetime. There is a much better approach to investing by keeping the plan simple. Invest in three broad based index products; including, the total US stock market, the total international stock market, and the total bond market with an asset allocation appropriate for one's age and risk tolerance. Turn off CNBC, don't listen to the Annex Wealth Management Show, buy and hold, and re-balance once a year. Knowing this could be the difference in you outliving your portfolio and your portfolio outliving you. read more

My experience with Annex Wealth Management was awful. I was with them for a little over a year. Overall, the market was up slightly during that time, maybe 4 %. My accounts lost about 20% during that time. The advisors hedged a bet on foreign investments, which were down quite a bit during that year. Towards the end of that period, they sold off those foreign investments. Right after that, the foreign markets increased quite a bit. The person I met with was not a good communicator and couldn't explain why my money was invested the way it was. After I fired them, I moved my money to Fidelity and managed my own investments. It took me a year to make back the money Annex lost for me. read more
