Love this store! They have gorgeous clothes and I make sure to stop in as soon as I arrive in Highlands! Anna, Tracy and the rest of the sales people are so nice and helpful. I was shopping in Highlands with my mother, sister, and adult daughter on a cold, dreary day in January. Many of the stores were closed; however there wasn't much else to do so we were wandering around looking for open shops. We spotted Annawear down a kind of hallway. The clothes looked cute, and the door was open, but it looked dark inside. The associate at the door saw us and said she was closing because sales were slow; but she'd stay open if we wanted to come in. The store is full of cute, trendy clothes like the Free People brand. Some things were kind of pricey, but there are many markdowns and sale racks all over the store. There's also an upstairs with shoes and purses. We found several cute things and the woman who was working was very patient with us, even very friendly. No one else came in while we were there. I'm glad we found a few things to buy. read more

Had lunch at Wild Thyme with a friend today. After, I decided to go by Annawear. I work in town and I'm off during the winter and don't have a chance to shop except in the winter. I walked in, and there were four staff. Two behind the counter two on the floor. Not one of the four said anything to me. Not "hello", not "how are you today", not "let us know if we can help you". What a shame. I'm in retail sales as well, lived here 40 years, and it's becoming something that I'm hearing more often. We used to be a very friendly town. read more

First time visiting the Highlands area (I'm from California) and my sister-in-laws and I were strolling until one of them spotted some designer pieces at the window. We walked in and though its not an updated store they carried some fabulous labels such as Free People, Z Supply, Love Stitch, designer jeans (I think Paige or Joe's...). I bought 3 dresses and my sister in laws bought items as well. The store was quite busy that 4th of July weekend! Hope they re-do their window display to something more modern, fresh looking as well as their interiors and cash wrap (maybe clad the walls with reclaimed wood and pop in a fresh looking logo? Sales clerk was very unfriendly to the point of being rude . We walked in the lights were on. They were ringing someone up at the register a sweater caught my eye that pulled me into the store. My husband said try it on. I did immediately I was walking up to the register to buy it, and the girl stopped me as the other customers walked past me to the door she said I'm sorry, but we're close now. My husband said really the door was unlocked. The lights are on. I'm sorry we didn't know you were closed we just wanted to buy the sweater and the clerk said once again we're closed. You'll have to come back tomorrow so we left and I came back the next day giving her the benefit of the doubt maybe I caught her at a bad moment maybe she had something horrible happened to her but when I return the next day and she was still just as rude confirmed I will never shop in the store ever again I know my purchase was only $125 but still I won't waste a dollar of my money on a business that really doesn't value me as a customer read more

I have been coming to Highlands for 24 years, and find that this is always my "go to" place for shopping. I am almost 75 years old and I still find things that are totally appropriate to my age, stylish, and at great prices. I introduced my daughter-in-law to Annawear and she too loves it! So many shops in Highlands are overpriced and intimidating, and the welcome is usually not warm. I ended up buying clothes at Annawear on the first and last day of my two-week stay in Highlands, and nowhere else. The welcome is great, the salespeople helpful, and this is not always the case in Highlands, the home of bad facelifts. There is also a wide range of sizes -- most things in HIghlands are too large or too small. (One owner snootily informed me that size 14 was the average size of women in the US, so most of the clothes on sale are Small or Extra Small! I'm a size 8 or Medium, and always find my size at Annawear.) Their sale room, jewelry and reading glasses are also tops. Every year when I come to Highlands I am delighted to see it is still there! read more

I saw clothes from Anna Wear while working at Rollins College in the 80s--absolutely the most beautiful tie-died tee shirts ever. The employees of this store could learn a thing of two from the film Pretty Woman. Being that the store is located in a town in the mountains, this past Sunday (may 3rd) I came in after a day of hiking. Of course I didn't look stunningly fashionable, but I was still wear name brand hiking gear. Upon arrival I was not greeted by employee at register. I walked past her to go upstairs after looking around downstairs and was not greeted, I walked past her again just to see if she would say anything and she said nothing. I later overheard her speaking with another customer and they were discussing $200 dollar jeans. I had the intention of buying two Free People items and a beautiful scented candle. When I was ignored I knew I was treated in such manner because she assumed I would not be able to afford items. If there is one lesson this employee can learn, it would be to not assume you know how deep ones pockets go. Needless to say I will not return. read more
