I asked for an English speaking dentist, being that I can not speak French yet. Four persons from my family went in for teeth cleaning and an exam. I am religious about 6 month check ups. My dentist in NY was great, he would show me x-rays and explain things to me so I was looking for the same kind of care. I will say the office was clean and the receptionists were very courteous. I liked the hygienist as well, but something about the dentist didn't hit me well. He took full x rays of our mouths, cleaned the teeth and did exams. At the end, both of my daughters, who I might add have NO cavities all of a sudden had 8 cavities each. He proceeded to show me on the images he took the black spots in their mouths where each cavity was. I distinctly remember my NY dentist showing me the same and I asked what the black spots were. My NY dentist said that they were nothing, now the Swiss dentist says they are cavities. I made the appointments for the fillings, two visits each, that would cost me about 1300 francs each...imagine 2600 for fillings. I went home and thought about it and it didn't feel right. I canceled the appointment sighting the fact that it would be much cheaper to do the procedures in the USA and we were going there in a few months. TODAY my daughters were at their old dentist in NY. All of a sudden 16 cavities were 1 small cavity. I had a hunch that this dentist was full of #$%^ and I was correct. DO not go to this office, ask around for another dentist. I think it is horrible that they could do such a thing but value your time and money and seek another.

As my insurance doesn't cover fully until a year after my initial exam, I have been waiting to go back to him for additional services. I was quite surprised when I walked into his office. The equipment was the newest dental equipment I have seen, even compared to the dentist offices I have seen in the US. There is also a nice view from the large glass windows. Once again, the challenge here is that the office staff doesn't speak English, but they do in person. So for booking appointments, if you aren't comfortable doing so in French, I walk by the office at lunch time, and make my appointments. Dr. Sabev was very friendly, informative, and I look forward to my next visit.
