If you've read the other reviews that were posted on here, you're already aware of the quality of environment these children were dealing with on a daily basis. My daughter would cry buckets whenever I would drop her off every morning and couldn't wait to come home at the end of the day. She still tells me stories about some of the things that happened while she was there and my heart breaks every time I hear them. Whenever there were staffing issues, you would be left hanging at the very last minute, which put a hurt on me financially since I was dependent on their services. Plus, their billing department was always changing, never being up front and honest about how much money you would have to pay for their services. Shame on the staff at Hershey KinderCare!

I would NOT recommend The Hershey KinderCare Center to parents of pre-school age children (3 and…read moreup). This center in particular has had a lot of staff issues recently and have been under investigation by their own regional office for quite some time. It is evident in how they handle dealing with normal behavior that could and generally does arise with children of this age. They are under staffed, which does not allow them to provide the quality time nor dedication that children of this age critically require. Instead, they will mandate that your children be outside in the play area a majority of the day (yes... in severe heat as well as cold)... And mix your preschoolers with older children without the proper monitoring, which will obviously set your young impressionable children up to learn new things that are not necessarily age-appropriate or in their best interest. Parents... if your children are currently attending this center, please keep a tight monitor on what your children are learning as well as communicating to you. Children of this age are very impressionable... But they are also honest to a fault... so please listen carefully and believe what they are saying... challenging with staff if your gut tells you to do so! Individuals that are currently running that center (Colbee and Amanda) May have the credentials to be there... however do not display the common knowledge it takes, which can't be just self taught.

The teachers and staff are all wonderful -- they show how much they care about and enjoy working with kids every day. I also appreciate that the school communicates so well with parents and builds a strong community with activities, such as book club, that bring in parents to connect with each other and engage with teachers on a regular basis.

They are…read morecrooks and take pride in scamming people out of their money and calling it a registration fee. My husband and I went into their Hummelstown PA franchise in March. We were given a tour and informed of the many advantages to sending our 3 year old daughter to their school. After careful consideration, we spoke with the in-house owners about our specific needs. We were looking for part time care, four days out of the week consisting of Tuesday-Friday. The owners were very pleasant in letting us know that they did not have anything avaliable right away because this particular classroom had reached capacity. However, they'd expected to have something avaliable by the end of Summer, early Fall, but we were informed that we'd be contacted if they had anything sooner. My husband and i reluctantly agreed and submitted their required $150 registration fee and filled out the needed paperwork in order to place her on the waitlist. In April, I called in to see if anything had changed. Surly it hadn't. I proceeded to call once or twice a month to check for changes. Meanwhile, we had to find alternative childcare. We are now in Mid July. Today I received a phone call from one of the Goddard Hummelstown, Pa employees who notified us that they had a four day opening coming up but it was for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. I reminded them that this would not work with our schedules as we were in need of Tuesday-Friday care. Since its been about 4-5 months with no upcoming openings for summer or Fall at this point and our daughter will soon be enrolled in kindergarten I asked if it would be possible to refund the $150 registration fee. The young lady we spoke too was unable to provide an answer so I was placed on a brief hold to speak with one of the owners. Cindy (one of the owners) was very rude, unprofessional, dismissive, did not listen to reason, and laughed when I asked if we were able to negotiate a refund. Cindy made it clear that the $150 registration fee was NON-REFUNDABLE under any circumstance and that they would normally charge an additional upfront 2 weeks worth of childcare cost whether or not they have a position avaliable. I let Cindy know that this was not good buisness dismissing a potential consumer and that I would be writing a review on my experiences. Cindy stated "that's fine,"  I was so overwhelmed with misunderstanding and heartbreak as to how someone could be so pretentious. I would just like to inform my readers that before you submit any money or agree to any contract please make sure that you are covered. My husband and I are now out of $150 that could have been put to better use. Please reconsider before taking your little one to this facility. I would not trust leaving my little one in their care. If I were treated this way, I'd hate to see how they are treating children that are in their care.

We thought it was a great place however there were many secrets being held that the employees kept from the parents (because of the love they had for our children). The pastor made unilateral decisions AGAINST the child care center board of directors decisions and removed several of the employees for personal reasons (these were employees who were actually sticking up for what is right for themselves and the children of the daycare). The pastor then got in front of more then 100 of the centers parents at an emergency meeting and said he was the reason the Flock was so well run (when in fact it was because of the director and amazing staff that he had just fired/put on probation). We immediately pulled our children (although we both work and had no backup childcare). We felt that the best interest of our children was not the primary concern at this center. Numerous other parents did the exact same thing. Some of our friends remained and we have been told it has not gotten any better - fluctuating staff, pastor still way too involved in the daycare and lack of organization. We were devastated that this could happen, especially by a man of "faith". I would never send my kids to this school and I would advise you to keep looking. As we found when we started our emergency search for childcare after this all happened - there are several much better options in the Hershey area.
