Good stuff! Came with my sister and her husband during the soft open and tried the kale waldorf salad, the philly sandwich, the buffalo tofu bites, and the beer burger salad. And a doughnut! We loved everything minus the kale waldorf, which we thought was just okay (I'm not a creamy dressing gal; I thought it could have used some acid). The beet burger was very tasty! Next time I may order that as a sandwich, but having the option as a salad was nice as well. The buffalo bites were really good! I loved that they were tofu and not fake meat. The philly sandwich was somehow very indulgent without being too greasy or heavy. The doughnut was light and fluffy and magnificent! 2 stars for friendly staff and providing an all-vegan dinner, but unfortunately the food lacked flavor in general. Got the mac and cheese, and I could only taste the flavor from the elbow pasta. Same with the mozzerella sticks, the only taste came from the breading. The BBQ sauce in the sandwich is rich, but everything else tasted like nothing. I wanted something a little different for lunch and came upon this nice looking diner. Pleasant staff. Not very crowded. Opened about 5 months ago. Was kind of hungry but not too hungry. I ordered the Philly fries topped with cashew cheese whiz for @$9. I guess the fries & cheeseburger whiz were okay but all I could taste were the super burnt onions on top. I couldn't really enjoy the food and didn't take it back because it was takeout to the office. Doubt that I'll be back, if burnt onions is the taste/flavor they were going for. I'm giving four stars because they're brand new and I'm sure with time they'll get better, but my experience at Angelhearts was more of a 2-3 star one. I went a couple weeks ago at the start of October. The service was great; the guy behind the counter was helpful and kind. The atmosphere was okay- likely because of the fact that the place was so new. It seemed a little empty. The food. The food was quite disappointing. I tried 4 things: 1. An oat milk latte. It was so bitter and possibly the worst OML I've ever had. I couldn't even finish it. 2. A donut. It was just okay. A bit greasier than I like my donuts, but it was edible. 3. Mozzarella sticks. These were amazing! I wished that more came in a serving 4. The breakfast platter. I was not a fan. Everything was a little dry and there weren't enough potatoes. I didn't really eat much of it at all and ended up needing to go get more food from a different restaurant. read more

I was so excited when I found a new, entirely vegan eatery in Ithaca and Angelhearts diner absolutely delivered. As a vegan 607 native now living in Buffalo, I was thrilled with their Buffalo wing tofu bites (crunchy and nicely breaded). Their philly cheeze steak and cheezey fries were also both excellent, thanks to an amazing cashew cheeze sauce. We then finished up with an delish chocolate mousse cake. This has got to be hands down the best vegan spot in Ithaca. Everything I have gotten from here has honestly taken me away as to how good it is. The first thing I had ever gotten was the Tofu Benedict. Before having had started eating vegan I was a huge fan of Benedict breakfast dishes. Their Tofu Benedict is delicious and I'd recommend it to anyone. The next time I had tried the Good Morning Ithaca burrito. Once again, this was really good! The side salad they add is also really refreshing to go along with it. I included a picture of that. I've gotten each of those dishes twice and will definitely order them again and again. read more

It came with a little side salad & the portion was perfect. The buffalo bites (tofu) were satisfying & delicious. The execution did not disappoint. I don't know why I suggested to my husband that we go here for breakfast. Though I'm perfectly happy to eat vegan meals, to me that means choosing foods that aren't meat or dairy. I really enjoyed the Full Plate breakfast. The tofu scramble was very good with the added vegetables, and the vegan sausage was delicious. The biscuit was pretty light, which I enjoyed. I've also had the blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup. There were lots of blueberries in the pancakes, which made them delicious. I've been order from Angelhearts since they opened. Easy diner comfort food thats vegan! The person answering the phone sometimes doesn't have the best customer service, but I get some employee aren't good at it. Cool. I usually tip the same amount I paid for the meal and promote them to any friend or family that come into town. Normally they'd be a solid 4-5 star rating, but I have a friend with allergies. Asking for someone to double check or change gloves when handling food is a gamble because you don't know how people are going to react to you asking them not to kill you. I work in a kitchen, my friend works in a kitchen, so we freakin' get it. The level of rude and lack of understand from this restaurant was abhorrent. For the manager to say we can't spend the time to make these adjustment is just another way to say we don't have time for you. Im grateful others had better experiences here and I hope for the best, but this won't be the restaurant I recommend to people especially with allergies. My husband and I have been waiting for this restaurant to open and were finally able to go last night. A wonderful experience. We are lifelong vegetarians, and so we are not looking for meat substitutes. That being said, my husband had the Susie's Seitan burger and said it was the best veggie burger he had ever had. HIs French Fries were also in a class by themselves - really perfect. We both started with their lentil carrot soup and it was outstanding. Fresh, clean and full of really flavorful carrots. The servings were also generous. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and really enjoyed it. We topped it off with really great oatmeal raisin cookies. Ithaca is lucky to have a place like this. Oh, and the decor? Really adorable MCM diner style. A real gem in the heart of Ithaca. Ithaca has so many options but this is a niche we did not have filled and this family has filled it. we will be making this a staple in our simple night out plans.
