I don't want to be long-winded so let me just say I did not have a good experience with this place.

My wife and I, a retired veterinarian have been using this skin clinic for almost 20 years, but…read morewhen we went in today for a skin exam, my wife had left her insurance card at home and she was refused care, even though the office had her insurance documentation on file from last year. I offered to send them a pic of her documents when we returned home, but the aloof staff wouldn't listen. We left together without seeing Dr. Lewis who, in any case, had left the clinic for lunch. I have consequently requested our medical records so we can find another dermatologist who, hopefully, will be more empathetic.

On June 18, 2020 I had an appointment with Dr. Lewis, Dermatologist in Gulf-port. I was led into…read morethe examining room, where I answered a lot of questions about my visit and previous visits with a nurse. After a while the door flung open and Dr. Lewis galloped into my room just laughing out loud shouting they are trying to get me. A young lady was in his pursuit. No greeting, no introduction, he leaned over to the lady working the computer and ask me how my eyelid was. While bending over half his under shorts were visible. Then he asked what he could do for me, I told him I had a blemish on my neck, he said he will burn it. Then I told him to look on my back for a place that I barely can reach but scratch a lot. I was still standing when I took my blouse off, the young lady ask to hang up my blouse, but I told her no it was fine right here on my chair that I was still standing in front off. He lifted my gym bra very abruptly and told me he could not see a thing. Well, then I showed him my left hand ring finger which has a big blister on it. He told me if he drained it, it would come back, and he was not about to cut it out claiming it would infect my whole joint in that finger. He sprayed the ice on my neck and left. I went home, and told my husband what happened and he asked me to show him my back, he found the hurting spot right away and just shook his head. I am sure I will never return to this Dermatology clinic again.

I'm in disbelief! I had an IPL Photofacial done at Dermatology Associates of Mississippi on March…read more10th, 2022. The first pic is the same day after the procedure. The side/temporal areas were clearly not captured with the laser which has left me with a distinct "tan line" (the best way I can describe it...see pics) most noticeable on my right temporal area and I recall not getting zapped in that area. I scheduled a follow-up Appt for today (April 12th, 2022) to address the issue. However, Dr. Hansen insists the temporal area was covered with the laser regardless of the reddened areas, or lack thereof, in the post procedure pics and that the line is "residual" and this is why they sell the laser packages for additional treatments. Absolutely not! I am not new to this procedure. I had my first IPL Photofacial in Atlanta around 2012 and I never had such start/stop laser "tan lines"! I didn't understand why Dr. Hansen's office kept trying to push their expensive $750 package of 3 laser treatments at the time of consultation but I do now. Could someone buy an additional treatment bc they want to fine tune and eliminate even more sunspots...sure! But you don't buy an additional IPL bc there is a distinct tab line created from the laser treatment. Additionally, this IPL was extraordinarily painful, even with numbing gel! So much so that I accidentally reacted to the pain of one zap on the forehead by instinctively turning head which caused the next zap to land on my head in my hair. It singed my hair, created a bald spot, and whitened the surrounding hair (see blue circle in third pic). When I had this procedure in Atlanta, there was a wrap around the head to protect your hair, it was no where near as painful, and I had amazing results without tan lines. Dr. Hansen refused to correct the obvious tan line where the laser stopped (which she denies) with a couple of zaps with the laser during my follow-up Appt today. The only reason I didn't get this procedure done at the same place in Atlanta (where I live), is because I came to my hometown and was trying to encourage my mother to get her first IPL Photofacial. While we both paid the $50 consultation fee, thank God my mom waited to see my results first before scheduling. I would NEVER want her to have this experience. I am in complete disbelief that any dermatologist would feel this is acceptable quality. At the end of the day, I cannot believe a physician would want a patient to pay hundreds more to address a small tan line that resulted on their face from the laser procedure that could be quickly reconciled with just a couple zaps to that spot?!? I will now have to pay to get this corrected elsewhere. I will certainly never return to the Dermatology Associates of Mississippi and I recommend you do not either. The pics speak for themselves.
