What the dilly
Anokhy D.

I had been here before but this post-concert visit was even better because I learned that they have a menu item that's just three warm freshly baked chocolate chip cookies to enjoy with your drink! We got the uncle David goes to Thailand, what the dilly (great for folks who like to drink pickle juice), and the freezer old fashioned (classic, good). Remember to put your charity tickets in the respective bins before you leave!

We wandered in here for some pre-show drinks and bites. The cocktails are expertly crafted and the servers are friendly. It's cool that they donate profits to the charity of choice. The bites are quite small. It was around $15 for a half of a chicken quesadilla...not much food for the price. The hummus was good and had plenty of veggies and chips. The interior is lofty and decorated with some cool artwork.

Love this spot! They donate their profits to charity and you get to pick which one by putting a ticket (each person who orders gets one) into the box of the cause you think deserves it. The space is also very nice and the drinks were good. They had a great range of cans, wines, and cocktails and could easily make classics too. They also have some bar food that was pretty tasty. They have a fun "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit" price for white claws if you don't care about the flavor ($6). Or you can pick your flavor for $8.

This is such a cute concept and cute bar! I love the fact that you can contribute to your charity of choice! Excellent way to encourage drinking and rack up donations. Also I love the decorations and the overall setup of the bar! It's a large space with tons of seating. Plus great drinks! I ordered my usual drank an espresso martini of course! And it was excellent! The bar tenders are super friendly and helpful! This is a great bar for a cause and a solid drink!

Giving Bee martini

Great bartenders and superb drinks! Would recommend the Giving Bee and Espresso Martini.

I came here for few drinks with friends. And found out it was okra before. I always like this charity bar.

Ambiance: Fun charity bar in Downtown Houston with shuffleboard, pool, arcade games, and multiple seating options including the bar, tables, and lounge seating. Amazing cocktails! Several fun Instagram photo spots & great ambiance. Perfect location for a date night, birthday celebration, or hanging out with friends. They give you a ticket for each drink you purchase and you can go vote for a charity - at the end of the month, the charity with the most votes will get a donation! Fun community building concept! I definitely recommend this bar. They also have several mocktail options and food to order!

What's not to like about this bar? Where else can you go have a drink while supporting local charities. This bar picks four local charities that you may or may not have heard about. With every drink purchase, you receive a ticket and you get to vote for the charity you think could benefit the most from contributions made from part of your purchase. All the charities receive something. What a cool concept! The bar itself is also very cool. It is a large open space with the bar smack dab in the middle. They have seating around it as well as all over. The ceilings are high and just a beautiful space overall. They also have a photo booth off to one side as well as a large shuffle board right when you walk in. Customer service has always been good every time I have been here. The menu is not large and overwhelming. They have a few items in every category such as beer, wine, cocktails and non alcoholic beverages. I've had a little bit of everything and haven't been disappointed in any of my choices yet. I have never partook in any of the food items here, but at a glance, it looks like they got your typical bar foods. Whenever I am in the downtown area and bar hopping, we always end up at Angel Share at some point. The vibes are great and the charity aspect makes it even more appealing. I will be back!

What a cute bar! Friends and I joined another friend and his friends on a Saturday night, sort of impromptu. It's cutely designed with fun art deco. Luckily for us, it was not crowded at all. Drinks - we were easily able to order. They have a brief little menu, but presume they can make off the menu as well. I had the Pimms Cup, and it was as I expected it to be, which is a good thing. Then, after paying out, they give you a ticket to donate to 4 different cause they have selected for that month. They tally up at the end of the month and those with the most tickets, they donate, I think 10% to that cause. How philanthropic! An excuse to get a group together and order drinks! They have board games and a shuffle board table. Picnic benches flank the side of the bar for you to sit and hang out. And there's couches in the back. The music was soo good, great mix of new age and old school. Not sure if it was DJ, but was jamming. Overall fun vibe! Stop in

The CUTEST non profit bar with ample seating, adorable and funky decor. I love coming here for a more lax vibe, and the old fashioned here is one of my absolute favorites. Try the Monte cristo wrap, chocolate chip cookies or even the house made jerky! Your drinks are served with a cute pink ticket so you can choose which charity to donate to! Ask for Val, shes my favorite person here and remembers her patrons!

We went on a Sunday so maybe this was why it wasn't popping. This could be a lit place if there was a live DJ. The food selection is ok but I hear it was better when it was Okra. We sat at the bar. Our bartender, Emily was great! I would say do kot leave this place without having an Espresso Martini. It was so good. The charity places are few. Only four. I'm not sure if it changes.

Angel Share was the second stop on our St. Paddy's day outing. We got here right when they opened around 4 pm. It was a short walk from McIntyre's downtown. I absolutely LOVE the concept of this bar. When you order a drink or food, you get a ticket to vote for one of the four nonprofit organizations in the local community that they have selected. All of them receive a portion of the proceeds biannually. Eat, drink, and make a difference in your community? Heck ya, I'm in! The green Jell-O shots shots were $1, and it tasted like lime. Not bad. I ordered a classic cocktail called Pimms Cup, which has gin, cucumber, mint, lemon, and soda. It was refreshing and a lighter break from the Guinness I had at McIntyre's. All of their non-St. Paddy's day drinks looked pretty. We had about 15-20 people with us that just kept arriving, but they served us quickly and efficiently. A few members in our group played pool. There's a RGB painting at the entrance and a huuuuge painting of Dolly in her younger years at the back. I'm here for it!

Angel Share G&T

We were looking for a post-Octoberfest place to gather, and I had yet to have come here. I had been to its previous iteration, but not the current. Service was fast on a Saturday night! I had the Angel Share G&T, citrusy take on the classic... Okay so I had two. Had we been there longer, I probably wouldn't have moved anywhere else on the menu, since that was the refreshing, well balanced concoction I didn't know I needed that night. If you haven't been, the bar is on the first floor, taking the center of the main room, with a gathering area in the back, with a second floor lost overlooking the whole place. It's a nice view, good ambience. It's in downtown, so parking is hit or miss. Luckily I was on the Uber Crew on this particular evening. Price range is appropriate to the area. DID I MENTION THE CHARITIES?! Yes, your pour drinking habits can and will support important work in the community. One of many reasons to come back for another visit. And so I shall.

I ate at Norigami Tuesday night and it was great as were the cocktails served up at the nextdoor bar called Hidden Bar. Next, I had the Three Dots and a Daiquiri ($13) with Rum, Lime, Velvet Falernum, All Spice and Pineapple and it was very similar to one of my favorite tiki drinks, the Three Dots and a Dash, complete with 3 luxardo cherries. To finish, I had the absolutely incredible Golden Laurel ($16) with Gin, Italicus Bergamot, House Greek Botanical Bitters and Sea Salt. It is equally beautiful served with a clear bay leaf and delicious. Last night, I was guided by the friendly bartender to try the Et Tu Banana" ($15) with Banana Bourbon, Spiced Pear, Creme de Banane, Campari and Citric Acid. I was a little worried about the cocktail being overly banana-y but it wasn't at all. It was a fantastic drink. Warm, crispy, and paired with Nutella and caramel. What really made the experience stand out though was our bartender, Manny. He was incredibly welcoming from the moment we sat down, had such a great personality, and made the whole experience feel personal. You can find the same cocktails and bites from Handos on the Kanpai menu, but there's also additional drinks and bites The bar feels like a Japanese Izakaya. It's a narrow space resembling a Japanese outdoor bar. It's intimately lit and well decorated. We did have to wait for two spots to open up, but that didn't take too long The bartenders were friendly, professional, and efficient. We went on a Friday night (fairly late), and they had two dedicated bartenders The cocktails were fun and were beautifully crafted. Most were served in novelty glassware. You can order classic cocktails, but both Kanpai and Hando offer a variety of signature cocktails. Most having some sort of Japanese or Asian fusion. They have beer, wine, and extensive sake list, as well as green tea and other nonalcoholic options The cocktails were tasty. The only one I was iffy on was their Espresso martini. It was poured from a machine and I guess there were having issues with it. The presentation was phenomenal. There was a roasted marshmallow garnish. The drink itself was far too Smokey in flavor than I like, or at least in terms of my espresso martinis The Yuzu Kosho fries were incredible. The flavors really hit the spot. Most of the music on the main bar is good, the DJs are energetic, and the bartenders are efficient while professional.
