Turkish people and businesses are famous for their service. This place is an exception. Staff was snobby and unpleasant. Restaurant food was awful and much of it was cooked wrong. Room keys kept failing and had to be reset four or five times a day, then the staff would laugh instead of apologizing for the inconvenience. They seemed to be offended when you were unsatisfied with their poor service. Free WiFi but the connection barely worked anywhere besides the lobby. Being American in Turkey I expected a bit of a language barrier, but the staff would get annoyed when you didn't understand Turkish. Hotel chains around the world hire people who speak multiple languages, but not Anemon Ege. I asked the desk clerk to call me a cab and to please explain over the phone where I needed to go. He failed to do so, and the cab driver didn't understand my poor Turkish skills. We wandered around for an hour until we found my destination, which was a popular street market. That cab ride ended up costing 200 TL (about $100) I would love to visit Turkey again, but I will never stay at another Anemon hotel. read more
