The owner has been all over FB and other media calling anyone who wrote a negative review a liar…read more He even has enlisted people to send me private messages. Check their Google Reviews out as well. Both brothers (Sam and Tom Patterson) have left themselves 5-star reviews in the past month to falsely and unethically inflate their rating. They continue throwing around the word "contract" like it's a new vocab word, but clearly do not understand the dynamics of a contract. One of my bachelor's degrees is in Business Management, and understanding Business Law, could vary depending on the persons education level, and character. The contract referred to was binding, and Thomas Patterson made arrangements with my neighbor to haul the wood away. I had no part those discussions, but it was on the contract so I assumed it would happen. It did not. Furthermore, on the issue that STUMPS ARE BID SEPERATELY: Yes, that is in the original contract, and when they got started on my property we (Thomas Robert Patterson and myself) negotiated a price and had a verbal agreement for them grind the stumps. A separate, but very real bid. Hint: verbal contracts are also binding. Another point that has been avoided completely was that they dropped a tree on my fence and did NOTHING to fix it. I work from my home office (always here), and after the 'event', they never attempted to show up again. My security cameras never picked up any movement on any corner of my property from them (just in case I missed them during a conference call). The last footage stored to the cloud is of two individuals with dumbfounded looks on their face trying to figure out what to do about my fence in ruins with a tree sitting on top of it. Attempting to save face by publishing false statements online (libel) and saying that I canceled or changed my mind, etc. is rather ridiculous, and again demonstrates the character of the person/company. My wife was hounding me daily to see when they were going to fix their 'mistake', and quite upset with me, because I hired them without doing a background search. Needless to say, I was EXTREMELY motivated to get them back to finish the job, per the contract (oh...and fix my fence). From the moment Saws and Spikes caused destruction of personal property and breach of contract, I attempted to contact them daily to come back out. I had also asked numerous times if they were going to follow-up with the person who THEY negotiated with to remove the wood. Again, something that was in writing per their 'contract'. Eventually, the phone # was disconnected. I dislike leaving bad reviews, and tried my best to resolve it with the business for weeks before posting the blow by blow account of events. Lesson learned - background check everyone - including those writing positive reviews! Also, I should have checked Angie's List: https://www.angieslist.com/companylist/us/oh/fowler/saws-and-spikes-tree-service-reviews-9238737.htm NOTE: What is the punishment for Destruction of Property? Destroying someone's property is a Class 3 misdemeanor by default. A Class 3 misdemeanor is punishable by up to a $500 fine. But destruction of property can also be charged as a Class 1 misdemeanor is the value of the damage to the property is less than $1000.00.

They are prompt, reliable, and amazing in the quality of their work. Also made sure my neighbor was aware and happy - he takes excellent care of his yard and we needed to use part of his yard for equipment, etc. for access purposes. Can't say enough good things!

Cut branches were left in some of the trees, and they forgot to grind the two pine tree stumps. When I called about the stumps, I was told they were busy doing other jobs & would get to me as soon as they could. Understandable. But here we are almost a year & a half later and nothing has been done. They've had my money since May 2019. It's written on my estimate sheet. When I call, I don't get phone calls back. Extremely disappointed and angry.
