I called Trent at Gerry's and he informed me that he could do the same thing for around 5k. He tried to see what he had on the shelf, dealt with my repeated phone calls and stupid questions with utmost professionalism, was unable to find what we needed on the shelf and needed my case. Told Trent I would drop it off at 1pm in couple days when the dealer had it out. He said it would be enough time for a quick turnaround but more time may be needed depending on the problem. The transmission arrived at 2:00pm due to traffic and construction. Even though we were late dropping it off, it was ready by 4:30pm the same day painted and looking better than ever. As my truck makes me my money, and pays for my living, a quick turnaround like this is important or I lose money every day without it. Since then I've put 2500km on the transmission and the truck feels brand new, shifts have never felt smoother. Thanks Trent and crew at Gerry's Transmission! After chatting with him afterwards, I found out that Gerry's has been in business for 35 years. We could bring the car down but it might take them a couple days to look at at. A week later we phoned them and they had not even looked at it. We phoned back another week later and they were just putting the booster on it, to get it started and bring in. Two days later we called AGAIN, and they said they couldn't get it in the shop because the tranny was screwed up and they couldn't drive it. OMG, how friggen stupid are they. That's why it's at the tranny shop! Finally (they said) they looked at it and haggled over the price. Another week goes by, another phone call, to find out they have still done NOTHING, and it would be a few weeks at least before they could do anything! We left them with some choice words ( which I can't repeat here) then arranged to go get our vehicle back! We had been warned that this was a bad place to go, but we decided to give them a chance. We should have listened to the warnings! It is my recommendation that you do not go here. I could only imagine the problems we would have had if they actually did any work. I would give them ZERO STARS if I could!
