We declined to use the agent, Candance Bornstein's, preferred home inspector or her father to…read morehandle the closing, for whom she pitched hard, denigrating the one our bank preferred. Good thing. The house looked nice and neat inside, but under the house needed 30k of work, the joists were virtually gone. Lots of other problems also found by the inspector. This was two weeks after the previous offer backed out after their inspection. I think she had to know a bit more than she told us. Moral of the story: ALWAYS use your own inspector, and if the agent even suggests one, be skeptical of his/her integrity.
